Spiritual Energy Revival: Transform Into a Divine Phoenix, Automatically Upgrade

33: Chapter 33 Gunshots from the Mountain TopWhile Ye Yang was searching for the stone egg in the cave, the forest rangers of the Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve quickly uploaded the footage of what had happened here to the military high command.

The Great Xia Kingdom was a large nation with a complex military structure; at the moment, no high-ranking officials had noticed this footage.

Instead, the footage immediately caught the attention of the Jianghai City authorities.

This was because the title of the video was—’Dramatic Mutation of the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle on the Outskirts of Jianghai City!’

Since the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle was located barely a hundred miles away from Jianghai City, the local authorities had been monitoring the outskirts constantly, paying particularly close attention to information regarding the White-Feathered Giant Eagle.

Therefore, once the Jianghai City authorities received the footage documenting the White-Feathered Giant Eagle’s growth mutation, they immediately summoned the city’s military department, experts, and professors for a meeting.

”Incredible! The White-Feathered Giant Eagle’s size has at least doubled! How on earth did he do it?”

”It must be because of the spiritual energy contained in those wild fruits! The White-Feathered Giant Eagle grew rapidly only after eating a few of them!”

”I know that spiritual energy-infused wild fruits can make animals stronger—that’s why we had the military collect them for research! But other creatures eating those fruits haven’t shown such startling effects as the White-Feathered Giant Eagle!”

A month after the emergence of spiritual energy, which was the current point in time, the high-level leaders of various countries on Blue Star had discovered that animals grew significantly faster and stronger after consuming certain wild fruits. Consequently, they had been frantically collecting spirit fruits from the wild during this period.

They intended to use these wild fruits for research to unlock the mysteries of spiritual energy.

”It’s definitely not just because of the wild fruits; this White-Feathered Giant Eagle is special!”

”Look closely! Even before eating the wild fruits, he could easily push over a five-ton truck and tear through a steel carriage. What terrifying strength! And now that the White-Feathered Giant Eagle’s size has grown, his power will only be more fearsome!”

”This...”

Their attention had been completely captivated by the rapid growth of the White-Feathered Giant Eagle in the video; they only realized the implications after hearing this person’s words.

”The White-Feathered Giant Eagle is clearly just a large bird, so how can it possess strength that exceeds our normal understanding? It’s simply a monster!”

”It is a prehistoric creature, after all. We’ve only learned fragments of information from fossils. Perhaps this is an innate characteristic of the White-Feathered Giant Eagle...”

”Enough. Regardless, the power displayed by the White-Feathered Giant Eagle already poses a massive threat to our Jianghai City! I suggest we deploy armed forces to suppress and drive away this eagle. We absolutely cannot let him stay on the outskirts of Jianghai City any longer!”

”Agreed!”

”Seconded!”

The vast majority in the meeting agreed with the proposal to suppress and drive away the White-Feathered Giant Eagle; ensuring the safety of the city’s residents was their primary responsibility.

”Report! An armed squad is heading into the mountains on the outskirts of Jianghai City!”

”Who are they? No instructions were received from superiors. Which unit are they from?”

”They seem to be private mercenaries. Damn it! They have some nerve! Which death-seeking mercenary team dares to run wild on our Great Xia soil!”

”Let’s go! Brothers, let’s go and round them all up!”

”Wait! Their objective is definitely that White-Feathered Giant Eagle in the outskirts! They can help us test the eagle’s danger level and reduce the risk of accidents!”

”That makes sense... Anyway, since this group of mercenaries dared to step onto Great Xia territory, they’ll end up in prison sooner or later. Once this is over, we’ll lock them up in Jianghai City Prison to rot!”

...

Three days later, in the vast forest.

A snow-white rabbit was leisurely eating a patch of lush, tender wild greens, occasionally glancing around cautiously with its red eyes.

Thump... Thump... Thump...

The ground vibrated slightly, and a noisy commotion could be heard in the distance.

The white rabbit looked reluctantly at the large patch of delicious greens before it, then scurried away to hide in a small tree hollow nearby.

It really couldn’t bear to give up the delicacy before its eyes; as long as it waited for the danger to pass, this patch of wild greens would still belong to it.

Suddenly, two behemoths appeared in the distance, and the red-eyed rabbit was nearly scared witless by the creatures before it!

Two massive bears!

Its limbs went stiff as it cowered in the hollow, looking completely paralyzed with fear...

”Roar...”

The Giant Panda and the Brown Bear were moving while carrying the massive spirit tree between them. When the Giant Panda saw the patch of wild greens not far away, its eyes lit up!

With an excited roar, it dropped the spirit tree from its shoulder and dashed toward the wild greens, beginning to gorge itself happily...

In the sky, a beautiful, snow-white great bird with a five-meter wingspan slowly descended.

Seeing the Giant Panda’s gluttonous behavior, Ye Yang shook his head helplessly.

Because he had the Brown Bear and the Giant Panda carry a spirit tree, his journey back to the mountain peak had been affected.

A journey of several hundred kilometers would have normally taken only an hour or two by flight, but now it had taken three days to reach the vicinity of the peak!

They could have been faster, but along the way, the Giant Panda couldn’t move its legs whenever it saw wild greens or bamboo forests. It only continued properly after Ye Yang disciplined it a few times.

”But we’re not far from the peak now. I’ll let this silly Giant Panda and the Brown Bear rest for a bit.”

Looking at the Giant Panda’s simple and cute appearance, Ye Yang didn’t feel truly angry.

”Squeak, squeak, squeak...”

A chaotic noise came from nearby; it turned out the Golden Snub-nosed Monkey Troop had also followed them.

The monkey troop was much faster than the Brown Bear and Giant Panda carrying the spirit tree, but Ye Yang hadn’t let them idle.

He had ordered them to search for wild spirit fruits in the surrounding area.

Originally, he thought that even if the monkeys followed orders, they would swallow any spirit fruits they found instead of giving them to him.

But the result was unexpected. Over these three days, the Golden Snub-nosed Monkey Troop led by the Monkey King had found several spirit fruits and handed them all over to him.

This made Ye Yang realize that in the minds of these three types of animals, strength represented everything. As long as they truly submitted in their hearts, they wouldn’t harbor any petty schemes.

This made him very happy; these three animals were honest and reliable, much easier to get along with than complex humans.

The Brown Bear had a powerful constitution; although the spirit tree was massive, it didn’t feel overly exhausted.

The Brown Bear looked at the eating Giant Panda with disdain.

This stupid bear—eating meat is the only way to get stronger, and meat tastes much better than those wild greens. Why doesn’t this stupid bear like eating meat?

Then the bear’s eyes turned toward the nearby tree hollow, a grin appearing on its bear face. Its nose had long since caught the scent of prey nearby.

It began walking toward the hollow...

BANG!!!

Suddenly, a massive boom echoed from the distance!

The Giant Panda, Brown Bear, and Golden Snub-nosed Monkey Troop were all stunned, not understanding what had happened.

Ye Yang, perched on a tree branch, suddenly beat his wings and took to the air!

He knew that was the sound of human gunfire!

Most importantly... the direction the gunshots came from was his home on the mountain peak!
