Spiritual Energy Revival: Transform Into a Divine Phoenix, Automatically Upgrade

17: Chapter 17 The Search! An Unexpected DiscoveryThe head of the scientific research department shook his head, rejecting the proposal.

”This grey eagle is capable of flying at high altitudes, and its size is small, making it difficult to capture...”

”I think everyone knows that, due to spiritual energy, the brain nerves of many creatures have become active. I suspect that these powerful mutated creatures possess intelligence not inferior to humans.”

”Therefore, to be safe, do not alert the enemy until we have a foolproof capture plan.”

Seeing their leader say this, the many experts could only nod.

Ultimately, after discussions among the hundreds of experts and professors in the conference room, several primary tasks were determined.

”One expert was right earlier; our primary goal now is to analyze the mysteries hidden within spiritual energy. Where does it actually come from? Why did it appear on Blue Star? Is it ultimately harmful or beneficial to us humans?”

”Also, the wild beasts in nature are now extremely dangerous. Send the military to relocate the population from those mountainous areas and towns near the mountains into the cities.”

With that, the meeting concluded.

...

On the other side, after Ye Yang’s cry echoed across the universe, this forest became very quiet.

Because now, living within a ten-mile radius of the mountain peak where Ye Yang resided, there were no animals at all, save for some foolish and muddled rabbits, pheasants, and small creatures.

Ye Yang was quite satisfied with this; this way, no creatures would come to the mountain peak to disturb him.

As for humans...

After Ye Yang had let out his cry earlier, he had also seen the humans who lost their lives in the beast tide.

On a green mountain four or five hundred meters high, a heroic grey eagle with a red crest on its forehead stood proudly on the peak.

A pair of cold, sharp golden pupils flickered with an unreadable expression.

”Humans may have already detected my existence...”

”However, humans probably won’t take action against me right now; after all, I am a flying creature...”

Ye Yang was certain in his heart that humans would not come to deal with him for the moment. After all, he was a large eagle, and it would be easy for him to leave this mountain range.

Moreover, ordinary thermal weapons and firearms would find it difficult to hit him while he was agile in the air.

He didn’t believe that the people of the Great Xia Kingdom would directly use heavy thermal weapons, like guided missiles, to deal with him.

That would truly be using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Although Ye Yang currently could not escape the locking range of a missile, he never worried about this point.

The reason was that with the current appearance of spiritual energy, animals had only undergone a certain degree of mutation, which was far from threatening humanity’s ruling status on Blue Star.

Therefore, he was still very safe for the time being.

Furthermore, Jianghai City was only a hundred miles away; at worst, he could just hide in the city.

...

His cold, sharp eyes looked into the distance. Ten kilometers away, a red-eyed rabbit had fiercely and decisively bitten an old wolf to death and was now tearing into the old wolf’s flesh to feed.

As it gorged itself, Ye Yang keenly noticed that the size of this red-eyed rabbit had grown slightly larger.

”Such a terrifying speed of animal evolution and mutation... it will definitely be a huge crisis for humanity in the future!”

”Therefore, a war between humans and animals will definitely not be far off!”

”I must become strong enough to ignore missiles... and even nuclear weapons, before humans discover the crisis of animal mutation!”

Subsequently, Ye Yang gazed into the distance with his golden eyes.

”Although I possess the automatic upgrade system and can automatically become stronger every day, there is still a shortcut...”

”That is the little red fruit from before, the spirit fruit.”

Ye Yang named those fruits that contained large amounts of spiritual energy spirit fruit.

The spirit fruit could accelerate his growth, increase his level, and strengthen himself; it was a very important source for him.

Whoosh!!!

Spreading his wings, he descended toward the forest at the foot of the mountain.

He did not fly at a high altitude, flying along above the forest, because although his vision was far-reaching and he could see things over a dozen kilometers away, the appearance of the spirit fruit was no different from ordinary wild fruits in the mountains.

Without feeling the attraction of the spirit fruit at close range, it was impossible to detect it at all.

Just like that, Ye Yang patrolled from morning until afternoon, having flown a distance of several hundred miles, but he had not discovered a single spirit fruit.

”Could the spirit fruit be even rarer than I imagined? Like the heavenly treasures in novels, unable to be born without the right time and place?”

Just as Ye Yang turned his direction, wanting to return to the mountain peak.

”Roar...”

”Awoo...”

Messy roars came from the distance.

”There might be something good!”

Whoosh!

He flew rapidly toward the direction, leaving a grey silhouette in the sky.

...

In an open territory, the atmosphere was very tense. Two animals, enormous in size like small trucks, glared at each other with red eyes, hostile to one another.

Beside them, the ground was covered with animal corpses; the stench of blood filled the air, and blood had dyed this stretch of land red.

Not far from them, a bamboo plant over a meter tall, resembling green jade or emerald, emitted bursts of pure white fluorescent light. The green bamboo leaves swayed in the air, looking very beautiful, like a top-tier piece of art.

But more importantly, this meter-tall jade bamboo radiated a dense amount of spiritual energy, which was the reason it had attracted these two behemoths.

The Brown Bear, with a build like a small mountain and a burly frame, looked at the Giant Tiger opposite it. Its fierce eyes were full of oppressive pressure, and its fangs were covered in blood.

The yellow-spotted Giant Tiger opposite, although not as huge as the Brown Bear, did not lose out in momentum. Excluding its tail, it was four meters long, and it was also a powerful Giant Tiger that had mutated under the influence of spiritual energy.

”Roar!!!”

”Roar!!!”

Almost at the same instant, a cold light flashed in the eyes of the two truck-sized behemoths, and they charged toward each other!

Thump, thump, thump...

The earth trembled, leaving a series of footprints on the ground.

Boom!!!

An explosive sound was produced instantly, and a majestic wave of air billowed between the Brown Bear and the Giant Tiger!

The Brown Bear, with its powerful momentum, swung its bear paw, which was as big as a human head, straight toward the Giant Tiger’s head.

Boom...

The bear paw, carrying the Brown Bear’s powerful strength, caused a slight sonic boom in the air.

The Giant Tiger, which was preparing to attack the Brown Bear’s neck, widened its tiger eyes, shocked by the power of the Brown Bear before it. It hurriedly controlled its flexible and agile body to dodge backward.

And it raised its thick tiger paw, revealing the sharp tiger claws hidden within...

Rip...

With the sound of tearing fabric, a large chunk of flesh and brown fur from the Brown Bear’s chest was torn off by the tiger claws.

The Giant Tiger, having retreated several dozen meters away, opened its tiger mouth to swallow the bear flesh and fur in its tiger paw, casting its cruel tiger eyes toward the Brown Bear.

Licking its lips, it seemed to have already seen the weakness of the Brown Bear’s clumsy movements, thinking it could slowly wear the opponent to death like this.

”Roar!!!”

The Brown Bear let out a roar that soared straight to the heavens!

This roar was not a cry of pain, but a roar of anger!

Filled with infinite rage, the Brown Bear, with its mountain-like physique, had been enraged!
