Spiritual Energy Revival: Transform Into a Divine Phoenix, Automatically Upgrade

14: Chapter 14 Terrifying Cries! A Home Atop the Mountain Peak! TerritorialityOn the peak of a large mountain surrounded by ranges on the outskirts of Jianghai City.

Hovering in the air, Ye Yang fixed his cold, sharp, eagle-like eyes in the direction the Golden Eagle had fled.

”Your escape speed is quite fast; you’re still somewhat clever.”

He chose not to pursue, perhaps out of consideration for them both being birds, but more importantly, he had just eaten a full meal not long ago and wasn’t very hungry now.

He shook his golden talons to scatter the Golden Eagle feathers stuck to them, then swept his gaze down over the mountain peak.

The peak was small, only about a hundred square meters in size. To Ye Yang’s surprise, there was a large cave several meters high on the peak; it was pitch black inside, but it felt quite spacious.

”This must be that Golden Eagle’s lair from earlier.”

Sure enough, when Ye Yang folded his wings and entered the cave, he smelled a scent—the same scent that had been on the Golden Eagle earlier.

At the same time, this scent was mixed with some unidentifiable foul odors. In the dark cave, Ye Yang’s golden pupils reflected a greenish light.

Most birds possess night vision; since Ye Yang had upgraded and evolved his body, he naturally possessed this ability too.

Only when he reached the back of the cave and saw not just a large number of animal bones, but also piles of black excrement, did he realize that the foul odor was coming from there.

”This cave is dozens of meters in size; it’s a good place to grow up in peace...”

”I’ll make this my home from now on. Now, time for a deep clean...”

Without another word, Ye Yang cleared out the debris and feces. At the same time, he found many aromatic plants with volatile, pungent scents from the forest below the mountain and placed them inside the cave to mask the odor.

Just like that, time passed until evening.

The sun set, and the full moon rose high.

A sheet of jade-white moonlight cascaded down onto the earth. The 500-meter mountain where Ye Yang was located looked like a silver mountain from afar, its entire body emitting a fluorescent glow.

”Ding, your Supreme Aura Cells have lost solar energy, automatically stopped operating, and fallen into slumber...”

”Ding, your Basic Breathing Technique has sensed the appearance of moonlight energy, is in a pleasant mood, and its operating efficiency has increased significantly...”

At the entrance of the mountain peak cave, the moonlight was drawn in, falling upon Ye Yang’s body with its one-meter wingspan.

His already greyish-white, shining body was coated in a layer of holy aura.

Abruptly.

Ye Yang, who had been fast asleep, suddenly opened his golden eyes, shooting out a cold glare as he looked at the small creatures hiding in the darkness not far ahead.

”I’ll settle the score with you little guys tomorrow...”

He slowly drifted back into sleep.

...

The night passed without incident.

The next day.

Inside the cave entrance, Ye Yang woke up and slowly flapped his greyish-white wings.

”Ding, your Supreme Aura Cells have sensed solar energy, awakened, and begun operating, but with average efficiency.”

”Ding, your Basic Breathing Technique has gained a certain level of proficiency after a night of arduous operation!”

After the Basic Breathing Technique runs for twenty-four hours, its proficiency level increases. Ye Yang vaguely felt that the proficiency level of his Basic Breathing Technique was about to improve.

Hearing the second half of the system prompt, doubt arose in his heart.

”Hmm... The Supreme Aura Cells’ operating efficiency is average?”

Ye Yang looked up and realized that today was an overcast day; there was no sun in the sky, which was why the Supreme Aura Cells’ operating efficiency was only average.

”Average is fine.”

Leaving the cave, he moved his short, powerful feet to the corner of the mountain peak, which was the path connecting the mountain base to the peak.

At this moment, the path was filled with a large number of animal hoof prints.

Needless to say, Ye Yang instantly understood that these animals living in the surrounding area had all been attracted by the dense spiritual energy on this mountain peak.

”These animals that left the hoof prints are all those little guys from last night.”

Looking at how clear the hoof prints were, it was evident that no animals had dared to set foot here before.

They must have been afraid of the Golden Eagle’s aura on the peak previously. The reason they didn’t dare to approach the mountain path last night was likely because they had sensed the aura Ye Yang’s body was autonomously emitting.

The instinct of these animals to seek advantages and avoid harm had saved their lives.

”But from now on, I cannot let these little guys step into my territory!”

Ye Yang narrowed his golden eyes. After being reincarnated as a Sparrow and evolving to possess power far exceeding that of ordinary creatures, his mindset had gradually undergone some changes.

For instance, right now, he had begun to possess the territorial awareness of a powerful animal.

Territorial awareness is not only common in the natural world but also appears among humans; this is a very natural phenomenon.

Ye Yang was aware of these subtle changes in his heart, but he didn’t care; as long as it didn’t affect his subjective judgment, he could follow his instincts.

He immediately flapped his wings and soared into the sky!

He breathed heavily, his chest rising and falling slowly, and opened his shiny black beak...

”Screech!!!”

A long cry that shook the heavens erupted from the mountain peak!

The cry spread far and wide, echoing throughout the surrounding mountain ranges for a hundred miles!

It wasn’t until faint echoes appeared in the distant horizon that this massive, resonant cry slowly faded away...

Although there was no movement in the sky, earth-shattering changes had occurred on the ground!

Within just a few seconds, the cry, which sounded like a thunderclap, accurately reached the ears of all animals living within a hundred-mile radius.

After a brief second of stunned silence, unprecedented panic and unease arose in the hearts of all the beasts!

It was as if a great catastrophe was about to arrive, and they all simultaneously and rapidly fled into the distance!

The tranquil forest seemed to have been awakened; the ground rumbled as it was trampled by the panicking, fleeing beasts, and flocks of birds were startled into flying far away, as if some terrifying crisis were about to descend!

...

On the mountain peak, a grey figure hovered in the air.

”It seems I underestimated my current power. I even thought some beasts might come to challenge me...”

Ye Yang’s golden eyes had excellent vision. Generally, the vision of eagle species is dozens of times that of humans, which helps them dive from high altitudes to capture prey.

Although he had evolved to rank ”E-” and his species was not an eagle, his physical constitution far exceeded that of eagles, and his vision was not inferior either!

Relying on his superhuman vision, he could now see the scene of countless beasts fleeing in panic.

Among them were wolf packs, leopards, tigers, elk, wild boars, yellow-faced monkey troops... all the animals in the forest were running away.

At the same time, he vaguely guessed his status in the natural world.

”Based on the information obtained so far, spiritual energy has just appeared in this world; it is the beginning of the era of spiritual energy revival...”

”Then this means I have enough time to grow.”

”And...”

Ye Yang’s golden eyes, colder than a cold blade, flashed!

”I will be the fastest-evolving creature, stronger than anything else!”

...

Just when Ye Yang was soaring above the mountain peak and letting out a resounding cry.

It wasn’t just the animals that were fleeing in a breakdown; among them were also quite a few humans living in the city...
