Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

66: Chapter 66 Anti-Life EquationIt wasn’t that the monster couldn’t leave the Dark Side; it just didn’t want to face certain realities.

After a silent low growl, the monster turned around and returned to the corpse of the Green-Haired Titan.

It calmed its mind and quietly used its abnormal claws to pick at the Green-Haired Titan’s flesh.

With every intact bone it removed from the Green-Haired Titan, the monster’s mood grew a point calmer.

Until the flesh on the Green-Haired Titan was completely stripped away, the monster tossed aside the final bone.

It crouched quietly on the Dark Side, eyes slightly closed, its electromagnetic waves retracted.

At this moment, it was like a fierce hunter waiting for its prey to take the bait.

As for who the prey was?

...

A few days later, the monster seemed to sense something.

Its body suddenly stood up uncontrollably from the ground, its four yellow-glowing eyes emitting a bloodthirsty light.

The monster once again arrived at the boundary between the light and Dark Sides. It stood there, appearing conflicted, as if it were afraid of something.

...

Since Lin Sheng was in the middle of Evolution, he didn’t know that the Terrifying Creature Eighteen had mentioned had already appeared on the Dark Side of the moon.

After the Evolution was complete, Lin Sheng looked directly at the new talent he had evolved.

[Anti-Life Equation (Balance Grade):

Can strip the vitality from carbon-based organisms; the bane of all carbon-based living things. Ineffective against carbon-based organisms with ’law level’ protection or higher.]

Looking at the description of this new talent, Lin Sheng opened his mouth and exhaled a cloud of grayish-white mist.

Before Lin Sheng could properly study this grayish-white mist, his heart suddenly gave a violent throb.

A strong sensation of trembling spread through his entire body.

Under the shroud of this trembling sensation, even the scales all over Lin Sheng’s body began to curl abnormally.

Facing this situation, although Lin Sheng’s body instinctively produced a fear response, his consciousness remained extremely calm.

Fear was only because that presence posed a threat to the physical body, but if the physical body was threatened, what did that have to do with the consciousness?

Furthermore, ’Omniscience’ hadn’t given a danger signal yet.

Lin Sheng turned his gaze toward the edge of the Light Side.

The danger came from the other side of the moon—the Dark Side.

Lin Sheng guessed that it must be the monster Eighteen had mentioned coming back.

Regarding this, he wasn’t particularly worried.

Because various signs indicated that the monster could not leave the Dark Side.

Lin Sheng planned to go to the Dark Side to check on the monster’s situation.

However, he didn’t intend to just go there directly. To be safe, he would go using his consciousness.

Parking his physical body, Lin Sheng’s consciousness left his body and flew toward the Dark Side.

...

Just as he arrived near the boundary, Lin Sheng, still on the Light Side, came face-to-face with the monster hesitating at the edge of the Dark Side.

The monster seemed to be able to see Lin Sheng. The moment Lin Sheng’s consciousness appeared, it subconsciously emitted a fearful electromagnetic signal.

But immediately after, as if provoked by some stimulus, the monster began to roar angrily at Lin Sheng.

Since the moon has no medium to transmit sound, in Lin Sheng’s eyes, the monster was just stretching its head toward the sky with its mouth wide open, looking both ridiculous and funny.

As if sensing that Lin Sheng was mocking it, bloodshot veins suddenly spread around the monster’s four yellow eyes.

Gray mist surged around its body, becoming so dense it wouldn’t disperse, wrapping around the monster’s entire form. Even if the monster stood in the sunlight, its body, completely enveloped by the gray mist, would not be revealed in the slightest.

A powerful electromagnetic pulse once again struck the entire Earth-Moon system. Under Lin Sheng’s surprised gaze, the monster left the Dark Side of the moon and entered the Light Side currently being illuminated by the sun.

The monster’s body did not experience the burning phenomenon Lin Sheng had expected from the sunlight.

Not only that, even standing in the sunlight, the monster’s body remained as usual.

The only difference was that the gray mist on the monster’s body was rapidly dissipating under the sun’s rays.

Staring at Lin Sheng’s consciousness before it, a cruel expression appeared on the monster’s hideous, large face.

“...”

With its mouth wide open, a strange gray ripple was emitted from its gullet. The ripple moved at an idealistic speed, directly striking Lin Sheng’s consciousness floating in mid-air.

The ripple approached Lin Sheng...

The ripple touched the faint golden light emitted by Lin Sheng’s consciousness...

The ripple instantly dissipated.

Lin Sheng smiled.

Seeing that its confident attack had failed, the monster became even more furious.

It suddenly leaped, its body bypassing Lin Sheng’s consciousness and heading straight for his physical body.

”The body is in danger.”

”Oh no!”

Lin Sheng hadn’t expected this monster to be such a sly old fox.

It actually gave up on his consciousness and went directly to destroy his body.

Fortunately, no matter how fast the monster was, the speed of Lin Sheng’s consciousness returning to his body was slightly faster.

The moment his consciousness returned to his body, Lin Sheng manipulated Electromagnetic Force and directly soared into the air.

But the instant Lin Sheng rose, an electromagnetic wave even more powerful than the Electromagnetic Force he used swept across his entire body.

Not only that, Lin Sheng also discovered that his body had become much ’heavier’ at this time.

”The electromagnetic field and gravity around my body have both changed.”

Now, Lin Sheng’s body had become incredibly heavy.

He manipulated Electromagnetic Force, trying to make his body fly.

But the powerful gravity pressed down on him constantly. In this situation, even by consuming evolution points, it was difficult for Lin Sheng to take off.

Lin Sheng’s tail tip emitted a Nuclear Energy Ray. Relying on the thrust of the Nuclear Energy Ray, he finally managed to return to the air.

But the good times didn’t last, as the monster’s speed was far greater than Lin Sheng’s when he couldn’t use Electromagnetic Force effectively.

Before Lin Sheng could fly very far, the monster’s massive figure blocked his path.

The monster’s strength was too great; Lin Sheng suddenly felt a bit worried.

However, he wasn’t worried about his own safety; he was worried about Eighteen.

Eighteen could also control Electromagnetic Force; it could surely sense the situation here on the moon.

Lin Sheng was worried that after Eighteen learned he was on the moon, it would rush over recklessly to its death.

To prevent Eighteen from coming to die, he either had to quickly deal with this terrifying monster that was tens of thousands of meters tall, or find a way to escape.

Between fighting and fleeing, Lin Sheng decisively chose the latter.

After all, although Lin Sheng possessed some overpowered talents, most of them were of the support type.

Facing this creature that was dozens or hundreds of times larger than himself, Lin Sheng felt it was better to leave for now.

...

What Lin Sheng didn’t know was that the monster’s electromagnetic waves had already blocked the transmission of electromagnetic signals within the moon’s range.

Even if he died here today, Eighteen wouldn’t notice the situation here.

Everyone should be on holiday by now, right?
