Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

140: Chapter 140 The Dinosaur Extinction Event“’He’ has made a move. The civilization is finished, and so are we.”

At this moment, the same thought rose simultaneously in the hearts of all the dinosaurs.

Although the detectors at Lin Sheng’s location had lost contact with them, the peripheral detectors could still function normally.

Seeing the scene of time reversing in that area, the dinosaurs realized that the existence controlling them within the Milky Way Galaxy had acted.

Only such an existence could reverse time so effortlessly, right?

“Lord, Your children are now at the brink of life and death. We hope You can step in and save Your children.”

At this moment, the Matriarch no longer held her usual high-and-mighty posture. She left her seat, knelt in the center of the hall, and prayed devoutly to their exiled Creator.

...

“Everything is ready on my end. You can proceed,”

Lin Sheng said to the Light Lord after everything was prepared.

At this moment, his mouth was wide open, and a blue fireball with a diameter of 300,000 meters hovered inside.

With just a single thought, Lin Sheng could instantly launch this fireball at the speed of light, causing it to collide with the massive star at the Galactic Center.

An impact of this magnitude was entirely capable of causing that star to collapse into a black hole.

“Good.”

The Light Lord flickered once.

In the next second, countless tiny black dots appeared near the star.

These black dots were all the dinosaurs except for the primitive ones on Earth, as well as all of their creations.

The amount of things a Level 3 civilization could create was beyond imagination; these appearing black dots instantly obscured most of the star’s light.

The Light Lord controlled the Dinosaur Civilization, rendering their technological creations unusable, though the life-support systems of those creations continued to function normally.

As for the dinosaurs who were not in places with life-support systems, the Light Lord thoughtfully granted them the ability to survive in space.

After ”fixing” the Dinosaur Civilization in place, the Light Lord completed its task and spoke to Lin Sheng:

“I am ready. Now it is your turn to act.”

“Since I’m killing them anyway, can’t I just devour them?”

Looking at the high-tech products of the Dinosaur Civilization, Lin Sheng asked persistently, even though he knew the Light Lord wouldn’t agree.

And the Light Lord’s answer was exactly as Lin Sheng expected.

“No. If I did that, it would mean I am helping you become stronger.”

“In your words, this would directly turn ’eliminating a threat to the people’ into ’helping a tyrant commit evil.’”

“Uh... fine.”

Hearing the Light Lord’s solemn speech, Lin Sheng’s lips couldn’t help but twitch.

Every civilization has its own characteristics. Even though the Light Lord Civilization had developed for countless billions of years while the Yanhuang Civilization had only existed for a few thousand, the leader of the Light Lord Civilization seemed exceptionally interested in certain aspects of the culture of this incredibly young civilization.

...

The space in front of Lin Sheng distorted abnormally for an instant, and the blue light orb hovering in his mouth shot out at the speed of light.

A few minutes later, a strange ripple emanated from the surface of the star at the Galactic Center.

After another few minutes, in Lin Sheng’s eyes, that star was collapsing inward at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Deep darkness continuously eroded the massive star and the light it radiated.

At this moment, Lin Sheng witnessed the birth of the black hole at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy with his own eyes.

Because the Light Lord was by his side, Lin Sheng did not choose to leave even when facing this forming black hole.

At this time, while protecting Lin Sheng, the Light Lord silently maintained the normal operation of the Milky Way Galaxy.

It did not want this suddenly appearing black hole to cause the originally stable structure of the Milky Way Galaxy to collapse.

With the Light Lord’s protection, Lin Sheng could observe the birth process of this black hole at will, but the Dinosaur Civilization was not so lucky.

Facing the most powerful celestial body in the universe, the dinosaurs, who had lost their authority to use technological creations, could only silently wait for death to arrive.

Fortunately, it only took an instant from being captured by the black hole to being crushed by gravity; the dinosaurs would not feel any pain because of it.

“Sigh, what a waste of all that energy.”

Watching the Dinosaur Civilization being swallowed whole by the black hole in an instant, Lin Sheng couldn’t help but sigh with emotion.

At this point, except for Earth, dinosaurs as a civilization and their creations no longer existed in this universe.

“Eh?”

“This black hole is actually so compatible with this galaxy?”

“Even if I hadn’t acted just now, this black hole seemingly wouldn’t have caused any negative impact on the galaxy.”

Just as Lin Sheng was feeling sentimental, the Light Lord suddenly let out a soft sound of surprise.

In the process of maintaining the balance of the Milky Way Galaxy, the Light Lord found that it seemingly didn’t need to exert any effort at all.

It originally thought this was because its own strength was too great.

But after calculation, the Light Lord discovered that while it could indeed maintain a galaxy’s balance effortlessly, it truly didn’t seem to need to exert any force while maintaining the balance of this particular galaxy.

From this, the Light Lord concluded that the black hole Lin Sheng created would not cause any impact on the galaxy’s balance.

“Hmm?”

“Maybe this galaxy was just missing a central black hole?”

Lin Sheng replied uncertainly.

Facing the Light Lord’s question, Lin Sheng didn’t know how best to answer.

Because even with Omniscience, he didn’t know how to explain this.

He could know some parameters of the black hole and the Milky Way; by calculating these parameters, Lin Sheng could conclude that the black hole was a perfect fit for the Milky Way Galaxy.

But parameters were only surface-level things; even with Omniscience, Lin Sheng couldn’t understand much about the deeper things.

“The black hole’s parameters perfectly match the needs of this galaxy, but what surprises me is that such a coincidence would occur.”

After a sigh of wonder, the Light Lord did not continue to dwell on the issue.

It attributed the matter to coincidence.

...

“How do you plan to handle the dinosaurs on this planet?”

“If you ask me, since their path forward has already been cut off, we might as well just leave them here to fend for themselves.”

Returning to Earth and looking at the primitive dinosaurs, the Light Lord’s compassion began to stir again.

The path forward for these dinosaurs on Earth had already been severed by a ’mighty being’ like the Light Lord. Even if they were allowed to develop, they would still go extinct after a few million or tens of millions of years.

Since they were destined for extinction anyway, the Light Lord wanted to let them live a little longer.

But Lin Sheng had a different view on this.

“I think this would be better.”

As he spoke, Lin Sheng suddenly pulled out a meteorite with a diameter of about 10 kilometers from somewhere and threw it directly toward the Northwestern Hemisphere of Earth.

I spent dozens of days playing Honkai: Star Rail to seek inspiration for the cosmic arc in this world-view game, but the truth is, I wasted dozens of days.

In the end, I still have to come up with the plot myself and find my own inspiration.

Next up is still the main universe, the Little Evil God Arc.
