Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

126: Chapter 126 Origin Star IIThe massive kinetic energy generated an incredibly terrifying temperature for the missile flying at near-light speed. At this moment, it was like a star flying at the speed of light, crashing into that actual star in the blink of an eye.

After the missile struck the star, it was intercepted and stopped by the celestial body.

Under the impact of an object with near-infinite mass and a velocity approaching the speed of light, the point of impact on the star immediately began to undergo collapse.

At that moment, Lin Sheng only felt his vision go dark.

Immediately after, alarm bells rang wildly in his mind.

「Danger」

「Danger」

「Escape immediately」

Several consecutive notification tones pulled Lin Sheng’s attention back from the explosion site. This was the first time ”Omniscience” had given him such a strong warning.

He did not hesitate, performing several teleports until he was 1 light-year away from the impact point.

The alarm bells in his mind weakened, and Lin Sheng breathed a slight sigh of relief.

Although the scene just now seemed somewhat ordinary, it was only because Lin Sheng was still a certain distance away from the impact point.

If he had been near the impact point just now, he would have been obliterated the instant the collision occurred.

At this point, Lin Sheng also realized what was happening.

In his previous life, he was something of an astronomy enthusiast and had some understanding of such phenomena.

When two stars collide, if the impacting star has an extremely massive mass, it is very likely to form a black hole.

While the missile Lin Sheng fired was not inherently a star, after being accelerated to near-light speed, its mass became infinite, and the energy it contained reached a terrifying level.

Under these circumstances, even if it wasn’t a star, after hitting that star, it was highly likely to achieve the effect of a stellar collision.

At the thought that he had just manually created a black hole, Lin Sheng felt extremely excited.

For civilizations below Level 4, a black hole was a cataclysmic disaster.

However, as terrifying as a black hole attack was, Lin Sheng did not plan to use it too often.

Although a black hole is a physical entity, Lin Sheng’s current ability was insufficient to devour black hole matter.

Once there were too many black holes, he would have nothing left to eat himself.

”Yi Di, I’m coming for you.”

...

Yi Di’s luck was very good.

By the tenth year of its voyage, the fleet it led had been accelerated to one-tenth the speed of light.

After sailing at such a speed for 53 years, they actually managed to find a habitable terrestrial planet.

This planet hosted an indigenous civilization with a level of advancement slightly lower than that of the Origin Star people, roughly at Level 1.

Facing this weak civilization, the firepower on the battleship led by Yi Di was more than enough to wipe them out.

Therefore, after arriving above the planet, it did not hesitate to launch a devastating strike against the civilization on the planet.

Even though the indigenous civilization had made simple preparations before Yi Di’s arrival, because Yi Di’s speed was so fast, their response appeared extremely hurried.

They couldn’t even hold out for ten minutes before their main forces were completely annihilated by Yi Di.

This battle stunned the indigenous civilization, and it also stunned Yi Di.

The indigenous civilization never imagined they could be crushed by a civilization that wasn’t much more advanced than themselves.

Because Yi Di had been suppressed and beaten throughout the battle with Lin Sheng, it had been doubting its own combat power ever since.

Such an easy battle was a first for it in all these years.

After eliminating the effective forces of the indigenous civilization, the next question was how to handle the rest of them.

Looking at these things that shared no common language and had very strange appearances, Yi Di immediately gave the order.

”Kill them all.”

Although the culture of the Origin Star people did not have the saying ’if they are not of our race, their hearts must be different,’ it still understood the principle.

The Origin Star people had not only eliminated the main forces of the indigenous civilization, they were also about to occupy this planet.

This was an irreconcilable conflict; if these natives were left alive, it would likely leave hidden dangers for their civilization.

Since they were not from the same civilization and even their appearances were worlds apart, Yi Di felt no pity for the natives at all.

...

After Yi Di’s order was issued, it took only two days for the natives on the planet to be completely wiped out.

During this period, there were no twists or turns.

Under absolute technological suppression, the trope of an alien invasion being repelled by a low-level civilization simply would not happen.

The Origin Star people were thorough, even hunting down and killing the natives who were in space or exploring neighboring planets.

Only after ensuring every individual of the indigenous civilization was dead did the Origin Star people truly settle down on this planet.

As the current supreme leader of the civilization, Yi Di named this planet ”Origin Star II.”

It wanted to use this to warn its people never to forget their original home.

...

Origin Star II, inside a top-secret laboratory.

Most of the top scientific researchers of the Origin Star people were gathered here. Before them was a small piece of flesh placed in what looked like a petri dish.

”Is there still no progress?”

Behind these researchers, a majestic voice suddenly rang out.

”Chief.”

”Chief.”

...

Seeing the person behind them, the researchers turned one after another to greet him.

After a hundred years of tempering, Yi Di had shed its original researcher’s temperament, replacing it with the majestic aura a leader should have.

After a simple greeting, one researcher stepped out from the crowd and said to Yi Di:

”Chief, even using our most sophisticated analytical equipment, we remain unable to analyze any substances other than the most basic constituent tissues of the organism.”

After hearing the report, Yi Di’s expression remained unchanged, showing no disappointment.

Since obtaining this piece of Lin Sheng’s flesh, these were the words it heard most often; it had already grown accustomed to them.

”Besides this, we have some findings that we aren’t sure can be called ’gains’.”

As the researcher said this, the expression on his face appeared somewhat hesitant.

”Speak.”

Yi Di spoke calmly.

”Gains that aren’t quite gains”—they had researched many such things before, but those were indeed not entirely productive.

That was precisely why the researcher appeared so hesitant.

Upon receiving the command, the researcher immediately spoke:

”We previously conducted an experiment to stop the energy supply to this piece of flesh and observe its deactivation.”

”Oh?”

Hearing this, Yi Di frowned but did not interrupt.

”We discovered that even when the flesh loses its energy supplement, it remains fully active.”

”We attempted to find the source of the energy maintaining the flesh’s vitality, but found nothing.”

”It’s as if...”

”As if the flesh itself is a living organism.”

After finishing, the researcher lowered his head and did not say another word.

”The flesh itself is a living organism?”

Yi Di frowned while looking at the piece of flesh, repeatedly murmuring those words.

It spoke as if asking a question, yet also as if talking to itself:

”Do you think that monster might find this piece of flesh it lost?”

When these words echoed in the laboratory, the surroundings instantly fell into a dead silence.

The vast majority of the Origin Star people present had lived through the Battle of the Eighteen Stars and had a deep understanding of Lin Sheng’s terrifying abilities.

”You are very clever.”

Just as the atmosphere in the room sank into silence, a mechanical voice with a hint of ”praise” suddenly rang in everyone’s ears.

Hearing this mechanical voice, those Origin Star people who had participated in the Battle of the Eighteen Stars all shuddered violently.

As the voice faded, the roof of the laboratory was ripped away, and a terrifying head so massive its boundaries could not be seen entered the sight of the Origin Star people present.

”I will give you a quick death.”

Having said that, Lin Sheng didn’t even give Yi Di time to say a single word of parting, directly sending the Origin Star people present on their way with a blast of Anti-Life Equation.

Just as Lin Sheng finished off Yi Di, he was surrounded by battleships.

Looking at these battleships that were roughly the size of his own claws, Lin Sheng could no longer muster any desire to fight.

A powerful electromagnetic pulse was emitted from his body, and the interference signals radiated outward at the speed of light. The entirety of Origin Star II and its surrounding regions were instantly covered, and the technological equipment within the pulse’s range failed immediately.
