Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

130: Chapter 130 Communication with the Lord of LightLin Sheng watched the Light Lord quietly.

”No.”

The Light Lord rejected Lin Sheng’s unreasonable request without a second thought.

This core was the fundamental reason why the ”great harmony ideology” could remain stable in this region.

If it were to give the core away, it was uncertain whether a civilization that had lost its energy source could continue to support this philosophy.

Although the Light Lord’s philosophy was naive, it was not a naive creature.

The Light Lord knew very well why those civilizations followed the ”great harmony ideology.”

”Although I cannot give you the core, I can give you a portion of it.”

”This portion of the core is also ’endless energy’.”

Lin Sheng didn’t expect the Light Lord to actually give him endless energy.

Although it was an incomplete core, it possessed all the functions a complete core should have.

With this core, Lin Sheng would no longer need to consume his own evolution points when using the ”Mechanical Scourge” in an overclocked state.

”Thank you.”

Lin Sheng nodded in gratitude.

He thought for a moment, intending to ask the Light Lord if there was any energy other than endless energy.

However, the Light Lord seemed to have seen through Lin Sheng’s thoughts and immediately spoke up:

”Apart from endless energy, I will not provide you with any other energy sources.”

Just now, when Lin Sheng asked for the energy core, the Light Lord was considering whether or not to provide him with energy.

Because Marshal Chang Xin had described Lin Sheng as being far too terrifying, the Light Lord did not dare to offer him too much help.

But Lin Sheng had just proven through his actions that endless energy did not help his growth, so the Light Lord had no need to worry about that.

”Fine, I still have to thank you for the endless energy you provided.”

Lin Sheng nodded, not pushing his luck any further.

He put away the endless energy and, after a moment’s thought, said to the Light Lord before him:

”Even though I possess Truth, I don’t fully understand what Truth is.”

”However, in my opinion, if you want to master Truth, then do not rely on something like endless energy.”

”As far as I know, it is a meaningless energy. Since it is meaningless, it likely won’t be of any use for higher-level research.”

As a return for taking the endless energy, Lin Sheng explained some of his insights regarding Truth to the Light Lord.

Although he didn’t know much about these things, based on the system’s previous snippets and the prompts from ”Omniscience,” Lin Sheng could still offer some suggestions to the Light Lord.

Listening to Lin Sheng’s suggestions, the Light Lord fell into deep thought.

Lin Sheng’s perspective was somewhat unique; it had never heard of energy being described as meaningless.

After obtaining the endless energy, it had also researched this energy source.

The feedback it got was that this energy was no different from ordinary energy, and it even contained far more energy than ordinary sources.

However, as a being who mastered Truth, Lin Sheng’s words must have some merit.

But if it didn’t use endless energy and relied solely on mining natural energy, the Great Universe and all its parallel universes might not be enough to sustain civilization’s consumption.

Once the energy of the Great Universe was exhausted, where would civilization go?

To other Great Universes, or perhaps Great Worlds?

At this thought, a flash of inspiration suddenly crossed the Light Lord’s mind.

At this moment, a sense of urgency suddenly rose in its heart.

It seemed to have realized the truth behind the enemies’ invasion of this universe.

Putting aside the idealistic side, which was already an opposing force, the reasons for the materialist faction’s invasion were now mostly clear to it.

...

”This is just my guess, and it might be wrong. Don’t get too caught up in it.”

Seeing that the Light Lord had been lost in thought for a long time, Lin Sheng couldn’t help but speak up to interrupt its thinking.

Watching the light on the Light Lord’s body flickering incessantly, he was worried that his words might have led the other party into a misunderstanding.

”It’s fine, I was just thinking about things.”

”There is a high probability that your insight is correct, because after incorporating your views, the materialist faction enemies can be explained.”

”materialist faction enemies?”

Hearing this new term, Lin Sheng spoke up in surprise.

”Can you tell me more about this?”

Lin Sheng understood the words individually, and he could guess some things when they were put together.

But if he wanted to know more detailed information, he would need to hear it from the Light Lord’s mouth.

”I can.”

”With your potential, you are capable of knowing these things.”

The Light Lord organized its thoughts and began to speak:

”Before understanding this, one must first know about the two factions: the ’materialist faction’ and the ’idealistic side’.”

”The materialist faction consists of technological civilizations like ours; the transitions in the starting stage need to follow the underlying logic of the universe, which is easy to understand.”

”Although you are a bit special, you are also a member of the materialist faction.”

”As for the idealistic side.”

At this point, the Light Lord paused briefly before speaking again:

”The idealistic side has a much greater advantage in the starting stage than the materialist faction.”

”They only need to absorb ’idealist energy’ to become stronger.”

”The conflict between the materialist faction and the idealistic side is inevitable. In a Great Universe rich in idealist energy, the battles between the two sides have never stopped.”

”Although other Great Worlds composed purely of idealist energy do not have this situation, their external aggressiveness is extremely strong.”

”However, you don’t need to worry about these external invasions for now, because the Source of Information and the Creator have been handling these issues.”

While telling Lin Sheng about things outside the Great Universe, the Light Lord did not forget to say a few good words for its two old friends.

Judging from Marshal Chang Xin’s previous attitude towards Lin Sheng and Lin Sheng’s personality, the Light Lord always felt that some misunderstanding between Marshal Chang Xin and Lin Sheng had led to the possibility of Lin Sheng destroying the universe.

Therefore, to avoid such problems that might happen in the future, the Light Lord decided to act as a peacemaker.

However, Lin Sheng’s attention was not on the Light Lord’s praise of the two civilizations.

After learning that there were so many vast worlds outside the Great Universe, his mind had already flown off to who knows where.

Seeing that Lin Sheng was still immersed in what it had said, the Light Lord continued:

”The enemies of our Great Universe are not from the idealistic side, but are civilizations that are also part of the materialist faction.”

At this point, the Light Lord’s tone suddenly became somewhat solemn.

”Combining your previous insights regarding Truth, I have a guess.”

”Tell me, is it possible that those civilizations invading this Great Universe have already touched upon a path to Truth, and that is why they are invading other Great Universes?”

”Are they doing this just to obtain that ’meaningful energy’?”

Thanks to ∅∞π for the tip.

These past few days, I’ve been worrying about the plot for the Universe Arc, which has caused issues with the updates.

If the Universe Arc has problems, the subsequent content might be significantly reduced.

I’m adding extra chapters today and will try to update as much as possible.
