Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

119: Chapter 119 The Machine CatastropheThe Chief looked at the high-level officials arguing below, a flicker of relief flashing across his face.

Once the crowd had finished their arguing, the Chief lightly tapped twice on the object in front of him that resembled a conference table.

After hearing those two taps, the voices in the hall gradually died down.

After the conference hall returned to silence, the Chief stood up.

His gaze swept over everyone present; when their eyes met the Chief’s, they all showed a look of determination.

No one present wanted to abandon the civilization in its time of peril, but given the current situation, someone had to do it.

”Sigh...”

The Chief sighed helplessly in his heart.

He scanned the crowd, his gaze finally landing on Yi Di, the captain of the First Fleet sitting beside him.

”Yi Di.”

Hearing the Chief’s call, Yi Di’s heart skipped a beat.

He opened his mouth, about to say something, but the Chief blocked his words with an irrefutable tone.

”As the captain of the First Fleet and the highest commander of the Civilizational Scientific Research Department, only if you live can there be hope for the revival of our civilization.”

”I now formally appoint you as the Commander-in-Chief of the ’exile plan,’ to lead the personnel of the original First Fleet and all the scientific achievements of our civilization into exile.”

”This is the order I give you as the supreme leader of our civilization, and it is my final order to you; you have no right to refuse.”

Meeting the Chief’s stern gaze, Yi Di’s lips quivered a few times, but in the end, he said nothing more.

”Fine...”

”Please rest assured, with me here, our civilization will definitely continue.”

After saying this, Yi Di sat back in the chair behind him.

Throughout the rest of the meeting, Yi Di kept his head down, remaining silent.

...

Lin Sheng’s figure appeared at South Pole Mountain.

The space above the Northern Hemisphere of Eighteen Stars was the home base of the Origin Star People, where the vast majority of their firepower was concentrated.

Lin Sheng’s current evolution points were limited, making it unsuitable for him to launch a direct assault on the Northern Hemisphere.

The Southern Hemisphere, however, was different.

Although the Origin Star People had considered ”moving south” and had even implemented it.

The southern migration plan had been temporarily shelved after the previous attack by the Bone Stripper.

A few days ago, as Lin Sheng’s ”star shatterer” ship detonated at South Pole Mountain, most of the fleets deployed by the Origin Star People in the Southern Hemisphere had already withdrawn.

In Lin Sheng’s eyes, the remaining warships were nothing more than evolution points that could run away.

After Lin Sheng descended upon South Pole Point, those few warships had also left due to safety concerns.

Only a few monitors were left in place.

...

Lin Sheng landed on the base of South Pole Mountain.

The Origin Star People had discovered him the moment he appeared.

But facing Lin Sheng, they no longer had any way to respond.

Regarding Lin Sheng’s behavior of ignoring them, the Origin Star People could only watch helplessly from their headquarters in the Northern Hemisphere.

evolution points +1.44 million

evolution points +5.07 million

evolution points +210...

Lin Sheng feasted among the ruins of South Pole Mountain while the Origin Star People held a meeting regarding the ’exile plan’ in the conference hall, all while observing the situation on Lin Sheng’s side.

In the observations of the Origin Star People, Lin Sheng’s size grew larger and larger as he fed.

Just as Lin Sheng’s body length reached 55,000 meters, the Origin Star People in the conference hall could no longer sit still.

Although they had some understanding of Lin Sheng’s devouring ability, they had never visually seen how terrifying his ability truly was.

Just now, they had seen it.

”Chief, we cannot let him continue to grow like this.”

”I am willing to lead the fleet to...”

”To stop his growth as much as possible.”

Ting had originally wanted to say ’exterminate him,’ but Lin Sheng’s terrifying ability made Ting change his tune immediately.

Because he knew that even a Fusion Strike could not eliminate that monster.

”Stop his growth?”

”How? By using the lives of our soldiers to stop him?”

The Chief’s voice revealed a hint of powerlessness.

Now that the ’exile plan’ had been launched, he no longer needed to continue pretending to be calm.

But then, the Chief’s tone shifted.

”Ting, lead the fleet to harass him.”

”The harassment should focus on long-range strikes; the fleet’s distance from him must not be less than the planet’s radius.”

”Understood!”

Ting nodded solemnly, then stood up and left the conference hall.

...

”Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!”

”Boom!”

Several missiles flew from an unknown location, heading straight for Lin Sheng’s body.

But Lin Sheng seemed prepared; even with his back to the missiles, he could still nimbly dodge, directly evading the sneak attack of these missiles.

The missiles exploded where Lin Sheng had just been, the powerful destructive force sending rubble flying everywhere.

Lin Sheng stared in the direction the missiles had come from.

There was a fleet of considerable size over there, but since the fleet’s position was quite far from Lin Sheng, he did not go over to attack them.

After staring in the direction of the fleet for a while, Lin Sheng turned his gaze back to the rubble in front of him once the dust on the Ground had settled.

However, before Lin Sheng could even take a few bites, several more high-powered missiles flew in from the distance.

”Boom! Boom!”

Lin Sheng looked up and stared at that fleet in that direction.

A message was sent out in the form of electromagnetic waves, entering the fleet’s communication channel.

”Dumbasses, wait for your deaths.”

After saying that, Lin Sheng directly released a strong electromagnetic pulse, destroying the monitoring equipment the Origin Star People had left there.

Although they lost Lin Sheng’s figure on the big screen, the Origin Star People could still launch attacks against him.

Because their biological radars were still functional.

Lin Sheng was one of the few bright, flickering stars on the biological radar; the Origin Star People could distinguish the difference between Lin Sheng and other creatures at a glance.

Therefore, even though Lin Sheng had cut off the Origin Star People’s monitoring equipment, they could still continue to strike him.

Lin Sheng had actually anticipated this situation.

Countless ’flying insects,’ too small to be seen with the naked eye, flew out from his body’s surface; these ’flying insects’ carried a special substance and headed straight for the fleet’s location after appearing.

Since these ’flying insects’ were entirely mechanical, the Origin Star People’s biological radars did not detect these quietly appearing insects.

Lin Sheng controlled the ’flying insects’ while continuing to devour the black stone.

The missiles harassed Lin Sheng from time to time, but he no longer cared much about it.

Once the flying insects approached the fleet, he shifted his attention to them.

Meanwhile, Lin Sheng’s voice rang out again in the fleet’s communication channel.

Only this time, the voice carried a hint of being ’exasperated.’

”You all must die!”

Listening to this ’exasperated’ mechanical voice, Ting felt that something was not quite right.

But Lin Sheng was nearly half a planet away from them, and no abnormalities had appeared on either the biological radar or the electromagnetic radar.

However, out of safety concerns, Ting still had the fleet move even further away from Lin Sheng.

Yet at this moment, a swarm of flying insects invisible to the naked eye had already quietly approached the command ship he was on.

The electromagnetic signal reflected by the flying insects was ’none’; if the flying insects were a bit larger, the fleet would have certainly discovered them immediately.

But if it was only a nano-scale zone with no electromagnetic signal, no matter how detailed the Origin Star People’s observations were, it would be impossible to notice this situation.

The flying insects clung to the exterior of the command ship, and the special tissue they carried merged into the command ship.

At the same time, Lin Sheng’s voice entered the communication channel once again:

”Do you know how many of your clansmen I’ve killed?”

”You don’t know, do you?”

”Actually, I don’t know either.”

”Because your home planet was destroyed by me, I’ve lost count.”

”Heh.”

”A bunch of dumbasses who can’t even protect their own kin.”

Listening to these mechanical sounds that seemed to be mocking him, Ting pressed his hand against his pounding chest, suppressing his anger to keep from losing his mind.

Although he was furious and really wanted to give the order to blow Lin Sheng up.

But he was the captain of the fleet, and he had to be responsible for the lives of his subordinates.

Rashly giving an order to attack would only harm the soldiers under him.

”All troops, hear my command: avenge our fallen clansmen!”
