Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

107: Chapter 107 Civilization ExpeditionLin Sheng had now effectively ”hollowed out” the warship. Aside from the energy collection system, he had integrated all other systems, such as the weapon and detection systems, into his own body.

Aside from the energy system, the rest of the warship was nothing more than an empty shell.

Lin Sheng controlled the warship to continuously shrink. When it had shrunk to approximately 30,000 meters, his abdomen split open once more, and his body enveloped the weakened warship.

evolution points +301.2 billion

Since Lin Sheng had already installed everything of energetic value from the warship onto himself, this empty shell did not provide him with many evolution points.

Still, over three hundred billion evolution points wasn’t bad.

Having dealt with the remains of the warship, Lin Sheng descended back to South Pole Mountain.

A large section of the mountain peak was missing, and the blasted platform was littered with fragmented black rock.

...

”Chief, news has arrived from the front.”

Seeing the grim expression on Yi Di, the Captain of the First Fleet, an ominous feeling immediately welled up in the Chief’s heart.

”What are the casualties?”

”Please, prepare yourself.”

Yi Di tried its best to compose its emotions, speaking in a tone as calm as possible so as not to overly agitate the Chief:

”They are all dead.”

”What did you say!”

Yi Di forced itself to remain steady and repeated:

”They are all dead.”

”Cough, cough!”

Upon hearing this, the Chief began to cough uncontrollably.

”Notify Ting and A Zi (Captain of the Third Fleet); we are convening a Highest-level Civilization Meeting!”

...

The atmosphere within the meeting hall was solemn and grave.

The current vibe was incredibly oppressive. The Chief, the three fleet leaders, and high-ranking officials of the civilization stared with heavy expressions at the holographic projection playing in the center of the hall.

”We cannot allow those organisms to continue growing.”

”The very existence of these creatures is irrational; they must be destroyed.”

The first to speak was Yi Di, the Captain of the First Fleet.

It was considered a researcher and was usually the calmest of the three captains.

But now, after witnessing the fleet’s encounter at the Eighteen Stars, even the researcher Yi Di was the first who could no longer sit still.

Following Yi Di’s lead, the high-ranking members among the already restless researchers also began to chime in.

As researchers, they could perceive the horror of the Eighteen Stars from these images more clearly than anyone else.

A planet that violated cosmic Patterns, monsters that defied cosmic logic, and individual combat power that exceeded ordinary organisms—and even the civilization’s top-tier warships.

This was what the researchers had understood through the holographic projection.

As for whether there were other things they did not yet understand, that remained unknown.

”Chief, I suggest we immediately launch a strike against the lifeforms on 그 planet.”

”Preferably a destructive strike at any cost.”

As it said this, Yi Di glanced at Ting, the Captain of the Second Fleet, hoping Ting would support its suggestion at this moment.

And with Ting’s fiery temper, it naturally did not disappoint Yi Di.

In fact, as soon as it learned the fleet had been wiped out, Ting had wanted to lead the Second Fleet to attack directly.

Yi Di’s current proposal could only be said to play right into Ting’s hands.

Therefore, as soon as Yi Di finished speaking, Ting immediately spoke up:

”Chief, I support Yi Di’s proposal.”

”If the lifeforms on that planet are not eliminated, we cannot appease the souls of our civilization’s fallen.”

”I apply to lead the Second Fleet to exterminate every organism on that planet.”

Ting stood up excitedly and looked at the Chief, as if fearing the Chief might disagree.

Looking at the fleet captains agitating around it, the Chief took a deep breath:

”From this moment on, our civilization enters an expedition state.”

”The planet at the other end of the Warp Tunnel shall be named ’Sin Star’, and all lifeforms on Sin Star are ’sinners’ whom the civilization must strike.”

”Form an Expeditionary Force consisting of the First, Second, and Third Fleets to go on an expedition to Sin Star.”

”I shall serve as the Commander-in-Chief of the Expeditionary Force and personally command the civilization’s expedition.”

”Once the expedition begins, as long as a single sinner of Sin Star remains alive, the expedition shall not cease!”

”Understood!”

The three fleet captains looked at each other and replied loudly.

...

As the days passed, the preparations for the Origin Starans’ expedition proceeded rapidly.

Before long, the Expeditionary Force was fully prepared.

For this expedition, aside from leaving behind a few necessary fleets to guard their home, almost the entire main force of the Origin Starans’ capital ships was deployed.

Besides the essential life-support and ecological recycling systems, every other bit of space on these ships was packed with weapons.

Following behind the fleet were hundreds of massive Transport Ships; these ships had practically emptied out the entire military-industrial system of the Origin Staran civilization.

This expedition of the Origin Starans could be described in one phrase: ”burning their bridges.”

If the ”sinners” of ”Sin Star” were not destroyed, it would be the Origin Starans themselves who were eventually annihilated. Thus, they had no other choice.

...

The massive fleet of warships traversed the Warp Tunnel and appeared within the range of the Eighteen Stars’ Black Belt.

With the experience of the previous fleet, the Expeditionary Force immediately accelerated out of the Black Belt upon arriving at the Eighteen Stars.

Since the lifeforms of the Eighteen Stars were concentrated in the Northern Hemisphere, the Expeditionary Force flew directly into the space above the Northern Hemisphere.

The Expeditionary Force halted in outer space. Their objective was clear, and they did not immediately strike the lifeforms of the Eighteen Stars.

The fleet arrived near the star positioned above the North Pole.

Once there, the Battleships on the outer perimeter began to fly out to set up a guard.

The Transport Ships and Engineering Ships protected by the Battleships then spontaneously flew toward the vicinity of the star.

Fourteen Engineering Ships surrounded the star, after which many smaller engineering sub-fleets flew out from them.

They distributed themselves around the star at set distances, forming a simplified dyson sphere.

Although these smaller Engineering Ships lacked the medium to rapidly transfer energy between one another, every single one of them could be considered a ”fast-charging port.”

Other warships could achieve the goal of rapidly replenishing their energy by connecting to these Engineering Ships.

While the Engineering Ships were being positioned, the Transport Ships also began their installation work.

Compared to the Engineering Ships, the installation work for the Transport Ships had to be much more careful.

They were carrying the civilization’s vital industrial chains and served as the logistical support for the expedition; there could be no room for error in their placement.

After the Engineering Ships were in place, six Transport Ships detached from the main group.

These six Transport Ships were organized into three pairs, positioned respectively at the star’s outer perimeter and at the halfway point between the star and the Eighteen Stars.

Three massive barrel-shaped devices were installed at the halfway point, while the three Transport Ships near the star placed dozens of smaller barrel-shaped devices.

That was the Origin Starans’ ”Fusion Strike” system.
