Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

116: Chapter 116 Awakening of the Ball Owner’s Remnant SoulPerhaps because the Origin Star people were running out of their antimatter reserves, the sound of explosions reaching Lin Sheng’s ears had begun to quiet down over the last few days.

Although the sounds were still frequent, Lin Sheng could tell that the power of these explosions was no longer what it used to be.

As usual, Lin Sheng searched for traces of the Great Crawler Worm in the Black Belt while evading the bombardment from the Origin Star warships.

Just as Lin Sheng swallowed the three Great Crawler Worms he had caught this time, the system’s mechanical voice suddenly rang in his ear:

[Ding]

[Host has met the conditions for Evolution. Please evolve within 1 day, otherwise the opportunity will be voided.]

Lin Sheng had already anticipated this outcome; moreover, an Evolution opportunity that expired after a single day would not yield a talent higher than ”Balance Grade.”

Therefore, Lin Sheng wasn’t particularly excited this time.

He glanced at his current two sets of data.

Body Length: 33,502 meters

evolution points: 7.9 Trillion

Lin Sheng thought for a moment and decided to keep 5 trillion evolution points for the upcoming guerrilla warfare against the Origin Star people, using the remaining points to upgrade himself.

With that thought, Lin Sheng found a spot that had already been blasted apart by the Origin Star people. He spent over two hours digging a large pit and buried himself inside.

”System, begin Evolution. Consume 2.9 trillion evolution points to perform an Ordinary Evolution.”

Upon hearing this, the system responded immediately.

[Ding]

[Evolution beginning. This Evolution will take 5.1 years. Please wait patiently, Host.]

After the system’s voice faded, Lin Sheng fell into a deep sleep.

However, before sleeping, Lin Sheng gave the system one last instruction.

Five years wasn’t short for Lin Sheng, so he had the system wake him up once every six months. He needed to regularly observe the situation with the Origin Star people.

He wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but Lin Sheng felt that when the system agreed, there was a hint of reluctance in its mechanical voice.

...

Through several observations, Lin Sheng discovered that the Origin Star people’s concept of time was very different from his own.

Five years did not seem long to them at all.

During these five years, aside from continuously bombing the Northern Hemisphere, the Origin Star people also accomplished a major feat.

Since their home planet had been destroyed, the Origin Star people had nowhere to settle, so they made a home near the South Pole Point.

Although the gravity of Eighteen Stars was much greater than that of Origin Star, and the environment at the South Pole Point was extremely harsh, the Origin Star people currently had no better place to settle.

After establishing a sanctuary on the outskirts of the South Pole Point, a group of Origin Star people wearing special protective suits cautiously landed on Eighteen Stars.

The environment was harsh, but since it was also a terrestrial planet, the protective suits only needed to solve the issues of gravity and heat insulation; other problems were basically negligible.

By the fourth year of Lin Sheng’s Evolution, the Origin Star people had already established a firm foothold at the South Pole Point.

They built factories on South Pole Mountain, developing industry using the energy within the black stones.

The Origin Star people even installed a ”Fusion Strike” system in the Southern Hemisphere.

Just as Lin Sheng thought the Origin Star people’s development was getting on the right track, an accident suddenly descended upon them.

It was a creature over 200,000 meters tall, its entire body shrouded in gray mist.

This creature came from the Black Belt, and after leaving it, it headed straight for the Origin Star settlement in the Southern Hemisphere.

By the time Lin Sheng noticed this creature, it had already been causing destruction in the Origin Star settlement for a long time.

And Lin Sheng recognized this creature instantly.

This creature was none other than the Bone Stripper on his must-kill list.

Compared to when Lin Sheng first encountered it on the moon, the Bone Stripper was now more than four times taller than before.

A size of over 200,000 meters brought an unparalleled sense of oppression to the Origin Star people on the ground.

The Origin Star people had locked onto the Bone Stripper as soon as it left the Black Belt.

However, because the Bone Stripper was perhaps too powerful, the resistance from the Origin Star people didn’t have much effect.

Furthermore, the Bone Stripper could fly, and its flight speed was not at all inferior to the Origin Star warships, leaving the Origin Star people with no way to deal with it.

Once the Bone Stripper reached the settlement, large-scale weapons of mass destruction became useless. The Origin Star people could only use missiles to harass it from the side, with no other solution.

Lin Sheng watched this scene, feeling quite surprised.

He clearly remembered the situation when he first met the Bone Stripper.

He remembered that the Bone Stripper hated light, yet this time, it had actually left the Black Belt directly, exposing its entire body to the rays of the star.

Although its surface was covered by gray mist, the light emitted by the star could still faintly penetrate the mist and shine upon the Bone Stripper’s body.

Watching the Bone Stripper’s battle over there, Lin Sheng suddenly felt something was wrong.

Eighteen had said before that the Bone Stripper had retained some self-awareness under the strike of ”chaotic information.”

But so much time had passed, and judging from the situation on the battlefield, the Bone Stripper’s self-awareness didn’t seem to have dissipated yet?

While Lin Sheng was thinking about this, the Bone Stripper suddenly looked up and let out a roar at the warships above its head.

Lin Sheng possessed Eighteen’s memories, so he could understand the languages of the powerful races or individuals of Eighteen Stars even without using ”Omniscience.”

To Lin Sheng’s ears, the Bone Stripper’s roar just now was a sentence.

”Invaders, you must all die!”

The ”invaders” here were clearly the Origin Star people.

Besides his surprise, Lin Sheng was also puzzled; he didn’t understand why the Bone Stripper would suddenly do this.

Could it be that its remnant soul as a ”Planet Lord” had awakened?

As the Bone Stripper destroyed the Origin Star settlement, the Origin Star people also began using large-scale weapons of mass destruction against it.

Facing those high-yield Antimatter Bombs, even the Bone Stripper had to temporarily retreat from the brunt of the attack.

However, before the Bone Stripper left, it let out another roar at the Origin Star people above.

”One day, I will clear away all of you invaders!”

Had the ”Planet Lord’s” remnant soul truly awakened?
