Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 150: Chapter 150: I’m Just Playing Around with My Junior Sister

”Just how many people from the Demon Suppression Bureau has he suppressed?”

Lu Yuan bared his teeth. ”Five or six? Seven or eight? Over a dozen?”

Wu the Cripple shook his head. ”Who knows? Basically anyone who encountered him during a mission was suppressed by him.”

HISS!

Lu Yuan took a deep breath. ”Were they all Fifth Grade?”

”Mostly Fifth Grade.” Wu the Cripple tapped his tobacco pipe.

”At first, the ones who clashed with him were Sixth Grade Martial Artists who didn’t know what they were getting into, followed by Fifth Grade ones.

”When he reached the Fifth Grade, he suppressed another batch.

”It wasn’t until he met a Fourth Grade Martial Artist head-on that his reputation truly spread, and the incidents finally decreased.

”Over the past seven or eight years, some of those Sixth Grade Martial Artists have broken through to the Fifth Grade, such as Cao Cong.

”Therefore...

”Of course, they won’t attack you directly. They’ll just conveniently or appropriately find ways to cause you some trouble...”

After all, Lin Qingfeng wasn’t a dead man. If any Fifth Grade Martial Artist dared to attack directly, no one would say a word if Lin Qingfeng beat them half to death or severely injured them. Everyone knew that Lin Qingfeng was becoming more and more terrifying with each passing day...

”As long as they don’t act personally, I have nothing to fear,” Lu Yuan smiled.

”You’re quite confident, kid, but don’t get careless and let a small mistake be your undoing,” Wu the Cripple nodded.

”Don’t worry, just watch me.” Lu Yuan sat for a while longer before leaving.

Returning to the training grounds, he guided Liu Zhi, Chen Qian, and Jianng Hongfei in their cultivation. He was now qualified to do so. Furthermore, he no longer hid the Extreme Bone Tempering Technique from them.

Having just been promoted to a Squad, his team was short-handed, so Qin Gang hadn’t assigned them any missions.

The day passed uneventfully, and they got off work on time.

SWOOSH! Liu Zhi turned around and left, not even waiting for Lu Yuan.

”Why are you running?” Lu Yuan was speechless. ”Afraid I’ll press-gang you into free labor?”

Liu Zhi stopped and turned around. ”I’m just a little unused to it, you know? Hehe.”

”I think you’re just trying to be clever on purpose.” Lu Yuan grabbed his saber and left the Demon Suppression Bureau with him.

”You’re the smart one,” Liu Zhi’s expression dimmed. ”Your strength is improving too quickly. The gap between us is growing wider and wider.”

”It’s fine. As long as you work hard, you’ll keep making progress,” Lu Yuan comforted him.

”Don’t compare yourself to me. I’m different.”

Liu Zhi was speechless.

Was that something a normal person would say? How was he different? In what way exactly was he different? Was there really no comparison to be made between them?

”Is it too late to ride your coattails like I mentioned before?”

”It’s too late. You missed your chance,” Lu Yuan shook his head.

”Really? It’s not too late! Hehe...” Liu Zhi laughed as he ran off toward his home.

Lu Yuan headed to the Yan Residence.

However...

”See him? That’s the one!” Up in a building somewhere, Mu Lingyan pointed down at the street below.

The stunningly radiant woman beside her—dressed in yellow with a red shawl draped over her shoulders, her figure tall and straight—took a look, and her eyes suddenly lit up slightly. ”He doesn’t look half bad. Is he really as formidable as you say?”

”Of course what I said is true. If you can coax him into joining your Jade Peak Sect, it definitely wouldn’t be a loss,” Mu Lingyan nodded with a smile.

”Then I’m going in.” Yangg Cailuan grabbed her treasured sword and leaped down.

At the same time, another figure appeared...

SWISH! A blindingly radiant sword gleam flashed.

CLANG! Yangg Cailuan drew her sword and engaged the figure in combat.

As the two fought, they moved rapidly toward a specific direction. They were both Seventh Grade Martial Artists and master swordswomen, making the battle incredibly fierce and brilliant to watch. Yangg Cailuan’s Swordsmanship in particular was exquisite and breathtakingly gorgeous, allowing her to completely suppress the masked Martial Artist for a time.

WHOOSH! Suddenly, the masked Martial Artist threw out a handful of dust...

Yangg Cailuan hurriedly dodged.

BAM! The masked attacker seized the opportunity to lunge forward, striking Yangg Cailuan’s shoulder blade with a palm strike. The blow sent her flying, and she landed right in front of Lu Yuan.

PFFT! Yangg Cailuan spat out a mouthful of blood, her beautiful face looking delicate and flushed. ”Despicable...”

”Die!” The masked attacker lunged forward with a sword thrust.

However, upon seeing Lu Yuan dressed in his Demon Suppression Bureau uniform, the attacker froze for a moment before turning around and fleeing.

”Don’t run if you have the guts!” Yangg Cailuan forced out through gritted teeth.

CRACKLE! Just then, with a flash of lightning, Lu Yuan appeared in front of the masked Martial Artist, blocking the escape route, and slowly drew his Wind Thunder Saber.

”Attempting an assassination in the middle of the street? Do you think the Demon Suppression Bureau doesn’t exist?”

”You...” The masked Martial Artist stared at Lu Yuan in shock and uncertainty.

Wasn’t he supposed to be High Tier Eighth Grade? How did he suddenly become Seventh Grade? Moreover, he gave off an incredibly dangerous feeling.

Yangg Cailuan was also a little bewildered.

Seventh Grade! How did he become Seventh Grade? The information was wrong! Mu Lingyan had said he could slay a Seventh Grade Martial Artist while only at High Tier Eighth Grade...

”Thunder—”

Blinding electricity erupted from the Wind Thunder Saber in Lu Yuan’s hand, shooting out lightning snakes over ten feet long. He swung fiercely forward...

”Burst!”

”Don’t!” Yangg Cailuan cried out urgently. Abandoning her act of being injured, she hurriedly shot over to help her Junior Sister block the attack.

Hex Shuyan went all out, exerting her full strength.

BAM!

The two women were sent flying. Their clothes were slightly charred, and their hair stood on end in large clumps. Faint sparks of electricity continued to run across their bodies, causing them to tremble uncontrollably. They hadn’t expected Lu Yuan to be so strong, nor for his lightning to have such terrifying penetrative power. Fortunately, both of them were Seventh Grade Martial Artists, and Lu Yuan had pulled back some of the lightning in time, so they managed to avoid crashing to the ground in a completely undignified manner.

”What kind of stunt... are you two pulling?” Lu Yuan frowned. ”Making a fool of an official on duty is a punishable offense.”

”My Junior Sister and I were just playing around! Who told you to...” Yangg Cailuan retorted. As she looked over at her Junior Sister in concern, she was instantly stunned by the sight of her frizzled hair and slightly blackened face. Then, she looked down at herself...

”Senior Sister, you...” Hex Shuyan pointed a finger at herself, bearing an identical expression.

”Ahhh!” Yangg Cailuan shrieked in horror. Shielding her head with her sword, she turned and sprinted away.

SWOOSH! Hex Shuyan quickly followed suit.

However...

CRACKLE! With a flash of lightning beneath his feet, Lu Yuan was already standing in their path, blocking them once again. ”Explain yourselves clearly before you leave, or you’re both coming with me to the Demon Suppression Bureau today!”

”Get out of the way! I...” Yangg Cailuan gritted her teeth. ”Didn’t I just say so? My Junior Sister and I were merely sparring for fun. Try to stop us again, and I won’t hold back!”

The Jade Peak Sect was a Third-Grade Sect with extensive connections and formidable power, so she wasn’t afraid of a mere Demon Suppression Bureau Squad.

”You won’t hold back? I look forward to it,” Lu Yuan laughed. Having just achieved a breakthrough, he had been fretting over not having anyone to fight.

”You...” Yangg Cailuan gnashed her teeth. ”Mu Lingyan! Come out here and solve your own mess right now!”

”Mu Lingyan!” Lu Yuan suddenly understood.

No wonder. So Mu Lingyan was the one pulling the strings. Did she want to give him a chance to play the hero rescuing the damsel in distress, only for the damsel to pledge herself to him in gratitude—a deliberate seduction attempt? A stunningly beautiful woman with Seventh Grade Cultivation, a smoking-hot figure, and a radiant face...

SWOOSH! Mu Lingyan appeared, dressed in purplish-red brocade robes and bearing a cold expression. ”You broke through to the Seventh Grade? When?”

”Do I need to report to Second Miss Mu before I break through?” Lu Yuan asked, his tone laced with a hint of mockery.

Mu Lingyan stared at Lu Yuan, her gaze fixed intently on him.

Lu Yuan stared right back at Mu Lingyan, not yielding in the slightest.

”You’ve grown a lot bolder.” Mu Lingyan took a light breath. ”Now that you’ve broken through, even your words carry more weight.”

”Heh, Second Miss Mu still loves to throw her weight around...” Lu Yuan shook his head and sheathed his Wind Thunder Saber.

”Do I even need to use my status against you?” Mu Lingyan’s lips curled in disdain. ”You don’t actually think that just because you’ve reached the Seventh Grade, you can face me head-on and fight me, do you?”
