Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Visitor

Lu Yuan’s body was somewhat like a Saiyan; after recovering from injuries, he would become even stronger. Using Extreme Thunder Flash twice, combined with the tenfold power outburst from Unyielding Will, had caused massive damage and strain to his body, particularly his internal organs. Upon recovering, they had grown significantly stronger. However, Lu Yuan’s Organ Refinement was still a ways off from Great Success, requiring further diligent cultivation.

”HISS—PHEW—”

During his morning practice, Lu Yuan exhaled a breath that shot out over ten feet. If he had something in his mouth, he could have fired it like a hidden weapon.

”Brother Yuan!”

”Brother Yuan!”

Suddenly, two little girls appeared and ran over. One was eleven or twelve, brimming with youth and vitality, while the other was five or six, a little half-pint with an adorable waddle. They were his two cousins, Wei Yunying and Wei Yunchan. They were followed by his eldest uncle, Wei Huidong, his eldest aunt, Zhang Wenqi, and his third cousin, Wei Yunshuang.

”What brings you all here?” Lu Yuan was surprised. It was early in the morning; they probably hadn’t eaten breakfast yet.

”What, can’t we come over?”

”Does Brother Yuan not welcome us?” The two cousins immediately pouted.

”Welcome, welcome! A warm welcome to you both!” Lu Yuan quickly ushered them inside.

Seeing the gifts his eldest uncle and aunt were carrying, he had a rough idea of what was going on. Old Lu hadn’t gone to work at the Government Office yesterday, which definitely required a report, and the Government Office would also naturally send people to visit. Thus, the news naturally spread, eventually reaching the Wei family.

”Mom, Dad, Uncle Huidong and Eldest Aunt are here,” Lu Yuan called out.

”Oh, you’re just in time. I’ll add a bit more rice to the pot. If you had come any later, I would have had to make a whole new batch,” Wei Huiling said, walking out of the kitchen with a smile at her maiden family members.

”If we came any later, we would have eaten before coming,” his eldest aunt chuckled, going over to help.

”What, does our family lack a bite to eat?” Wei Huiling protested playfully.

”Of course not, no family is lacking, but wouldn’t that just be imposing?” Zhang Wenqi set down the items in her hands and ushered Wei Huiling straight into the kitchen.

”You’re here.” Lu Ming stepped out of his room, fully dressed. He had changed into his Constable Uniform; he was going to work today.

”I heard you suffered some injuries. Are you fully recovered?” Wei Huidong frowned slightly. Going to work the moment he got a little better was far too careless with his own well-being.

”I’m fine. It was just a flesh wound,” Lu Ming dismissed it. It was perfectly normal for a Martial Artist to get hurt; it would be abnormal if they didn’t. However, this was the downside of living so close—any little thing that happened, everyone immediately knew about it. Getting injured was definitely not something to be proud of.

”A flesh wound warrants a leave of absence?” Wei Huidong was unconvinced. ”You have to understand that your life doesn’t just belong to you alone anymore...”

...

”Cousin, spar with me,” Wei Yunchan said, seeking out Lu Yuan to issue a challenge.

”Not interested,” Lu Yuan waved his hand dismissively. His power was simply too great now. He didn’t like having to hold back and hide his strength just to play with a child.

”Huh?” Wei Yunchan frowned, clearly displeased. ”What, you think I’m beneath you now?”

”Yes, I do,” Lu Yuan nodded. ”You’re too weak.”

”You...” Wei Yunchan grew angry, preparing to wait for a chance to launch a sneak attack.

”Huh, who is that big sister?” Wei Yunying had spotted Yaoyao.

After resting for more than half a month, combined with Pills and martial arts practice, Yaoyao had long since fully recovered. She looked like a pretty girl of about eight years old—just a bit older than Wei Yunying. The little one acted as if she had found a playmate, but unexpectedly, Yaoyao turned around and slipped into the kitchen to tend to the fire. Wei Yunying reached out, touched her lips, and quickly ran after her.

”Is that Yaoyao, the one you guys bought?” Wei Yunchan asked.

”Mhm,” Lu Yuan nodded. ”The little one is very well-behaved, obedient, and sensible. Moreover, she is exceptionally gifted. Don’t underestimate her. She’s already in the Ninth Grade now; you can’t beat her.”

”What? Ninth Grade? Seriously? Don’t try to fool me!” Wei Yunchan was shocked and in utter disbelief.

She didn’t know that Yaoyao possessed the Blue Demon Bloodline. Such a tiny little thing was in the Ninth Grade? Was her cousin just pulling her leg?

”After breakfast, the two of you can spar a bit,” Lu Yuan smiled. This cousin of his had decent talent; in the future, she might be able to break through to the Seventh Grade. If he lent her a hand, and with Yaoyao there to motivate her, she could also improve rapidly.

Because of his eldest uncle’s family’s arrival, the Lu Family courtyard was very lively and filled with joy. The only exception was his third cousin, Wei Yunshuang, who remained silent the entire time. Occasionally, she would look at Lu Yuan with a gaze tinged with resentment. Lu Yuan pretended not to notice. He knew full well that she was likely blaming him for breaking his promise and fleeing in a panic last time.

Breakfast was relatively simple, and since his uncle’s family had also bought some food from the street to bring over, they didn’t need to cook much. The eight or nine of them finished their meal in a bustling, lively atmosphere.

Lu Ming grabbed his saber and left for work. Lu Yuan, however, was still sitting there, not even having changed his clothes.

”Are you off duty today?” Wei Yunshuang finally couldn’t help but ask.

”Yeah, I have three days off,” Lu Yuan nodded.

SWISH—

Wei Yunshuang’s eyes instantly lit up. Being off duty was great. If he was off duty, then they could...

”Brother Yuan, take us out to play today,” Wei Yunying said, tilting her little head up with a look of pure anticipation. He was the only cousin who could take them out, and she loved playing with him.

Wei Yunchan, on the other hand, stared silently at Yaoyao, itching for a fight. She was just waiting for some time to pass so her food could digest a bit.

”Alright, we’ll go fly kites later,” Lu Yuan said with a smiling nod. By the river, which wasn’t too far away, he could even bring along a fishing rod and do some fishing.

”Fly kites? Yes, yes, yes! Yingying loves flying kites!” Wei Yunying clapped her hands happily. Children didn’t actually care what they played; the main point was having a lot of people together for a lively time.

”Let’s start getting ready, then.” Lu Yuan dug out the kites he had made in the past. With this many people, they would need at least three kites. Fortunately, they had plenty at home, as well as string. He also grabbed two fishing rods. For bait, he could use dough made from grain, or simply dig up some earthworms by the river.

”I’ll help too!” Yaoyao was in high spirits and very hardworking.

”I heard you’re really tough. Let’s have a sparring match,” Wei Yunchan said, approaching Yaoyao.

Yaoyao glanced at Wei Yunchan, then looked at Lu Yuan. ”Young Master...”

”Spar with her a bit. Just don’t hurt her,” Lu Yuan said.

”Hmph, Brother Yuan is underestimating me!” Wei Yunchan was unconvinced. Even if Yaoyao really was in the Ninth Grade, with fast speed and great strength, she still wasn’t afraid. Because Yaoyao had a fatal flaw: her body was small, meaning her arms and legs were short. With her own arms reaching further than Yaoyao’s legs, she refused to believe she couldn’t beat a little half-pint.

”Understood, Young Master.” Yaoyao agreed to spar with Wei Yunchan. She could do whatever the Young Master ordered.

She had frequently sparred with Wei Huiling recently, so she had some understanding of how matches worked. However, Wei Yunchan’s power was much weaker than Wei Huiling’s. Therefore, the moment Yaoyao made her first move...

SMACK—

Wei Yunchan was sent flying backward. She couldn’t block it at all.

SWISH—

Fortunately, Lu Yuan was nearby. He reached out and caught her, effortlessly dispersing the force.

”That hurts! How is she so strong?” Wei Yunchan’s little face twisted in pain as her arm quickly swelled and turned red.

”I told you she was in the Ninth Grade, but you didn’t believe me,” Lu Yuan said, rubbing her arm for her.

”Young Master...” Yaoyao looked at Lu Yuan timidly. It was as if she had done something wrong. She had already held back half her strength. She just hadn’t expected...

”It’s fine. But remember, when you spar with someone and don’t know their limits, you should test their strength first,” Lu Yuan advised.

”Yes, Young Master. I understand.” Yaoyao took the lesson to heart, her eyes quickly brightening.

Watching from the sidelines as Yaoyao sent her older sister flying with a single punch, Wei Yunying was so terrified that she stumbled backward, putting some distance between herself and Yaoyao. She hadn’t expected this petite older sister to be so incredible. It was too scary! She could never provoke her in the future...

Lu Yuan got the three little ones ready, but just as they were about to head out the door, a tall, sturdy white horse pulled up to a halt outside. Mu Lingche, dressed in his Demon Suppression Bureau uniform, leaped down from the saddle.

”Lu Yuan...”
