Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Giving a Chance, Yielding 3 Moves Again

The Mu Family was a Second-Grade Marquis’s Mansion, and Mu Lingyan had received the finest upbringing since childhood. With outstanding talent, she had been given the best teachers, the most suitable Cultivation Techniques, and the most rigorous training. Among her peers, she had always been an elite. Within the same cultivation realm, she remained part of the top echelon.

Lu Yuan had only just broken through. Could he really fight her?

”I wouldn’t dare. I, Lu Yuan, willingly concede to Second Miss Mu’s strength,” Lu Yuan said, drawing his Wind Thunder Saber out just a fraction more. ”Besides, my Wind Thunder Saber is a bit unique. The Power of thunder and lightning is unruly and untamed; it doesn’t distinguish between people. If Second Miss Mu spars with me, even if you win, you might end up looking quite undignified.”

”Undignified...” Mu Lingyan’s mouth twitched, especially after she glanced at the martial sisters, Yangg Cailuan and Hex Shuyan. The warning resonated deeply within her. If she ended up looking like them in public, she might just die of embarrassment.

”You can settle your own grudges. Can we leave now?” Yangg Cailuan’s voice trembled; she looked like she was on the verge of tears. She had never been so humiliated in her life! Out in the open, in front of such a massive crowd... She heavily suspected that news of their incident would spread by tomorrow, turning them into the laughingstocks of the entire Jade Capital.

”You brought today’s matters upon yourselves. You won’t blame me, will you?” Lu Yuan asked.

”I...” Yangg Cailuan gritted her teeth and took a deep breath. ”No, of course not. I will remember you, little brother.”

”Holding a grudge? It seems you still need to take a trip to the Demon Suppression Bureau’s prison,” Lu Yuan said, shaking his head.

”No!” Yangg Cailuan cried out in alarm, shooting a desperate look at Mu Lingyan. ”Mu Lingyan, hurry up and resolve this!”

”You may leave,” Mu Lingyan said, waving her hand.

The two women cast cautious, wary glances at Lu Yuan before swiftly fleeing the scene. Lu Yuan did not stop them. He couldn’t completely disregard Mu Lingyan’s dignity. If he stubbornly clashed with her right in the streets, he would be the only one to suffer the consequences.

”Lu Yuan, you are very, very good,” Mu Lingyan said, staring at him. Her words were complimentary, but her expression and inner thoughts were anything but.

”What advice does the Second Miss have for me?” Lu Yuan asked.

”Do you really want to fight me and defeat me?” Mu Lingyan suddenly smiled. She knew exactly what Lu Yuan was thinking.

”Challenging the strong is something every Martial Artist hopes for, and the Second Miss is indeed a strong fighter,” Lu Yuan replied tactfully.

”Good! I’ll give you a chance!” Mu Lingyan drew the sword at her waist and pointed it straight at Lu Yuan. ”A chance to fight me head-on!”

”Second Miss, aren’t you afraid of ending up like those two just now?” Lu Yuan reminded her, hoping to prevent any settling of scores later. It was also a form of psychological deterrence.

Mu Lingyan couldn’t help but shudder inwardly at the thought. However, she believed in herself and trusted that the Mu Family’s Martial Arts could withstand it. It was just the Power of thunder and lightning; it wasn’t invincible. Besides, would she really need that many moves to defeat Lu Yuan? It would only take two or three strikes. She wouldn’t give him any opportunity!

”Draw your saber! I can let you have the first three moves.”

Lu Yuan smiled and thought, ”Let me have three moves? This routine again! She really is confident.”

”Let’s get one thing straight first. You won’t use any Spiritual Weapons, will you?” he asked.

”I’ll only use the sword in my hand, nothing else!” Mu Lingyan declared, looking at her blade. Its quality was absolutely no inferior to the Wind Thunder Saber in Lu Yuan’s hand, having been personally forged by a master craftsman.

”Alright, forgive my offense then!” Lu Yuan drew the Wind Thunder Saber, his body trembling slightly with excitement.

”It’s the Second Miss of the Marquis Weiyuan’s Mansion! She’s competing with someone!”

”Marquis Weiyuan’s Mansion!”

”Who is that Banner Officer from the Demon Suppression Bureau opposite her? How dare he provoke Second Miss Mu?”

”Whoever he is, he’s definitely going to lose!”

”Exactly. The Mu Family of the Marquis Weiyuan’s Mansion is a top-tier noble clan in Daqian. Second Miss Mu has practiced the best and most powerful Martial Arts since she was a child, receiving guidance from numerous experts. She has always been the cream of the crop among aristocratic youths of her generation. How could any random person from the outside compare?”

”Second Miss Mu has top-tier talent. Rumor has it she broke through to the Seventh Grade at the age of sixteen!”

”Sixteen? Good heavens, I was only in the Ninth Grade at sixteen!”

”I bet that Demon Suppression Bureau Banner Officer won’t even last three moves!”

”If he can make Second Miss Mu take action, he must be somewhat capable. Ten moves, perhaps. I’m guessing within ten moves! After all, the Second Miss is letting him have the first three.”

”Could it be twenty moves?”

”Impossible! Second Miss Mu won’t give him the chance!”

Many bystanders in the vicinity were drawn over. The earlier battle between the beautiful Seventh Grade Martial Artists had already attracted considerable attention. Now that Mu Lingyan, the Second Miss of the Marquis Weiyuan’s Mansion, was personally stepping into the fray, anyone who caught wind of it immediately flocked to the scene. Even the patrolling guards from the Imperial City Department hurried over to help maintain order when they noticed the commotion. This was the sheer prestige of the Mu Family!

”Thunder—” Lu Yuan sprinted forward. The Wind Thunder Saber dragged a long silver dragon of lightning behind it as he appeared right in front of Mu Lingyan. The energy rapidly gathered and condensed into a single sphere. ”Burst!”

CRACK! A dazzling silver light detonated with fierce explosive force. Silver snakes of lightning shot out over ten feet long, instantly engulfing Mu Lingyan in a violent torrent of strikes.

The surrounding crowd couldn’t help but gasp in shock, sweating in anxiety for Mu Lingyan. They realized it was the Power of thunder and lightning, channeled through the Wind Thunder Saber! No wonder the man dared to fight Second Miss Mu; he was evidently no ordinary person either. They wondered if Second Miss Mu was alright.

”Is this all you’ve got?” Mu Lingyan’s voice drifted out faintly, carrying a hint of mockery that echoed into the surroundings.

As the lightning faded, a faint blue Primordial Qi shield was revealed. It protected Mu Lingyan completely, leaving her standing there completely unscathed.

”Take another move!” Lu Yuan twisted the Wind Thunder Saber in his hand, and the lightning enveloped his entire body once more. ”Thunder Flash!”

SWISH! In an instant, they were face-to-face as Lu Yuan’s saber slashed against the Primordial Qi shield.

Thunder Flash converted the explosive force of lightning into instantaneous speed and kinetic energy, while a portion of the lightning was highly condensed onto the saber’s edge to increase its lethality. With these two elements combined, it was practically impossible for anyone in the same cultivation realm to block. Especially if caught off guard, an instant kill was well within the realm of normalcy.

Mu Lingyan had prepared her Primordial Qi defensive shield in advance, and it was even a Water Shield, which was best suited for defense. However...

SLASH! The Primordial Qi shield was still cleaved open.

CLANG! Mu Lingyan thrust her sword forward, parrying Lu Yuan’s saber.

”There’s still one last move. The third move...” Lu Yuan suddenly formed a claw with his left hand and lunged fiercely toward Mu Lingyan’s chest.

”You...” Mu Lingyan’s eyebrows shot up in fury, and she swiftly threw out her left hand to intercept him.

THUD! Lu Yuan changed his claw into a palm, meeting her strike head-on and using the recoil to retreat. ”Alright, the three moves you yielded are over. You can make your move now.”

”Lu Yuan, I’ll show you what I’m truly capable of!” A murderous aura surged from Mu Lingyan’s body as water vapor began to manifest and condense around her. It rapidly dispersed, shrouding a radius of several dozen meters. At the same time, a portion of the water vapor materialized into swords, brimming with fierce sword intent. ”The first stance of the Nine Smoke Waves Swords—Smoke-Enveloped Cold River!”

”Now this is getting a little interesting,” Lu Yuan smiled.

”Slash!” Mu Lingyan executed the Unity of Man and Sword, striking out in a flash. The surrounding Sword Qi all surged toward Lu Yuan. A portion arrived first, followed quickly by the rest.

”Thunder—” Lu Yuan channeled his True Essence into the Wind Thunder Saber. Without him even needing to swing it, a massive sheet of electric light emerged, directly shattering the leading wave of Sword Qi. Simultaneously, even more lightning condensed onto the Wind Thunder Saber.

”Burst!” Lu Yuan swung his saber down, meeting Mu Lingyan’s sword light head-on.

BOOM! Even though it was the same person using the exact same technique, the power behind this strike was at least several times greater than before.

Mu Lingyan’s sword light was instantly pulverized, forcing her to stumble backward. Her expression turned incredibly grim.

”You...”
