Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Overwhelming Others with Strength

SWISH!

CLANG!

The blades were fierce, their gleams flashing like sharp needles. The angle was incredibly tricky.

”You...” Zhen Zilong’s expression changed. He propped up his Gang Qi, erupting with power once more to bounce the attack away.

SWISH!

Lu Yuan changed his direction and position, continuing his slashes. His other advantage over Zhen Zilong was his fast speed and superior Body Technique. The Wind-Breaking Nine Slashes were meant to break through the wind itself!

”Don’t even think about it!” Zhen Zilong repeated his old trick, throwing another punch. This time, he detonated his Gang Qi, making his attack range exceptionally large and widespread. It completely covered several meters ahead of him.

WHOOSH!

Lu Yuan dodged to the side, simultaneously using his twin blades to slash through the astral wind.

WHOOSH!

Zhen Zilong’s figure flashed as he appeared in front of Lu Yuan, throwing yet another punch. ”Go flying!”

”Heh!” Lu Yuan’s eyes narrowed. He abruptly gathered all the power in his body and dashed forward, meeting the attack with his shoulder and elbow.

THUD!

The fist and the elbow collided. One was fully prepared, while the other was caught off guard.

WHOOSH!

Zhen Zilong flew backward, frantically trying to disperse the force. Right at that moment, Lu Yuan quickly followed up, his twin blades slashing consecutively...

SLASH!

Several cuts appeared on Zhen Zilong’s body.

”Thank you for the match.” Lu Yuan sheathed his blades. The victor had been decided.

”What was that move just now?” Zhen Zilong steadied himself and looked up to ask.

”Wall Lean,” Lu Yuan answered.

”Wall Lean?” Zhen Zilong’s expression shifted. ”Good name! I lost.”

”Farewell.” Lu Yuan cupped his fists and left.

”Brother Lu, you’re incredible!” Liu Zhi’s body trembled with excitement. Without using his Archery Skill or Hidden Weapons, he had already defeated a Peak Eighth-Grade Martial Artist using only his twin blades. To think he had improved this much in just a few days!

”Onto the next one.” Lu Yuan glanced at the nearby Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion.

”Uh, okay.” Liu Zhi followed.

”He lost?”

”Senior Brother Zhen was actually defeated again!”

”He...”

”He’s going to the Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion!”

The courtyard of the Huasha Sect instantly became lively.

”He still wants to continue challenging people?”

”The Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion! Alright, let’s go take a look!”

”Let’s go!”

The Huasha Sect disciples sprang into action at the news. They normally had a lot of friction with the Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion, so they naturally wouldn’t miss out on a good show.

Zhen Zilong followed them as well. He recalled that Lu Yuan carried three blades but had only used two just now. What was the third one for...?

The Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion was a Fourth-Grade Sect with over a thousand disciples. Their headquarters was located in Northeast Laizhou. The Jade Capital branch normally only housed a few dozen disciples. A few of them were true inheritors, while the rest were all from the Outer Sect—ranging from Seventh Grade and Eighth Grade to Ninth Grade and apprentices. Additionally, the male-to-female ratio among Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion disciples was usually equal.

The Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion had been paying attention to the battles within the Huasha Sect’s courtyard. Therefore, by the time Lu Yuan and Liu Zhi arrived at the Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion’s entrance, the forty to fifty Outer Sect disciples inside were already prepared. They stood divided by gender into four rows. Each person held a sword in hand, their expressions stern as they stared straight at the entrance...

Liu Zhi hid behind Lu Yuan. He couldn’t quite handle the pressure.

Lu Yuan took a step forward. ”I am Lu Yuan. I wish to seek guidance from the talented experts of the Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion.”

”You defeated Zhen Zilong just now?” A tall, beautiful woman standing at the head of the right side spoke up.

”I barely won by a fraction of a move,” Lu Yuan answered.

The woman glanced at the three long blades hanging from Lu Yuan’s waist and took a step forward. ”Then, Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion Outer Sect disciple Li Qiutong wishes to seek your guidance.”

”Are you ranked in the top ten of the Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion’s Outer Sect?” Lu Yuan asked.

”You...”

”What do you mean?”

”Senior Sister Ziqiu is ranked seventh in our Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion’s Outer Sect!”

”Senior Sister Ziqiu is one of the top ten experts of our Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion’s Outer Sect!”

”If Senior Sister Ziqiu returns now, her rank will definitely be even higher!” someone immediately answered.

”That’s good.” Lu Yuan drew a blade and pointed it at Li Qiutong.

”Watch my sword!” Li Qiutong struck first, showing no courtesy. Instantly, a cyan rainbow exploded outward, blooming at incredible speed. In the next moment, countless sword gleams enveloped Lu Yuan.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Lu Yuan swung his blade to parry. Wind-Breaking Nine Slashes, nine slashes in an instant.

SWISH!

The sword in Li Qiutong’s hand seemed to transform into a violent storm. The sword’s Gang Qi linked together into a solid sheet, with sword gleams dotted like stars as she ferociously attacked Lu Yuan. She unleashed a majestic, thunderous momentum right from the start.

Lu Yuan responded calmly, not panicked in the least. Compared to Zhen Zilong, this Li Qiutong was much easier to deal with. Because her strength was inferior to his, her defense was inferior to his, and her killing intent was inferior to his... The only thing he needed to counter were her techniques.

Therefore...

After dealing with her for a while, Lu Yuan chose to suppress her with absolute power.

THUD!

He shattered all of Li Qiutong’s attacks with a single slash.

Then...

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Lu Yuan swung his blade wildly, his strikes full of brutal, sheer force. He hacked at Li Qiutong until she continuously retreated, forced into a desperate, exhausted defense. But Lu Yuan’s power was simply too massive, causing her martial arts techniques to lose their rhythm. Her wrist and arm ached and went numb.

Finally...

CRACK!

The sword in Li Qiutong’s hand was cleaved into two pieces...

”Thank you for the match.” Lu Yuan sheathed his blade.

”He...”

”He won!”

”He won so easily!”

”He only used one blade!”

”He defeated Li Qiutong with only one blade! Haha, that means Li Qiutong is much weaker than Senior Brother Zhen.”

”Li Qiutong was never Senior Brother Zhen’s match to begin with.”

”That’s right, Li Qiutong was never Senior Brother Zhen’s match to begin with!”

”This Lu Yuan really doesn’t know how to show tenderness to women at all. He even broke her sword.”

”Who cares if your sword breaks during a martial arts duel? If it breaks, you lose—or you die!”

The Huasha Sect onlookers outside were overjoyed, their emotions riding a roller coaster. Meanwhile, the expressions of the Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion members turned ugly.

”She lost?”

”Senior Sister Li actually lost!”

By this time, Lu Yuan had already left with Liu Zhi.

”One blade?” Li Qiutong’s expression couldn’t help but shift as she quickly recovered from her defeat. The Jade Capital was full of hidden talents; being defeated was perfectly normal. Wallowing in it forever would be a true defeat.

”Is he an expert at using twin blades?”

”Senior Sister, he has three blades on him!” a junior sister reminded her.

”Three blades...” Li Qiutong’s expression shifted once more. What did this imply? It meant her opponent might not have even brought out half of his true strength just now.

”Three blades don’t necessarily prove anything. He might just have them in case one breaks, for rotation,” the junior sister comforted her. A person only has two hands and can hold at most two blades at a time, so it was highly likely to be a spare. Furthermore, having more weapons didn’t necessarily mean he was more powerful.

”Where did he go now?”

”The Overlord Blade Sect!”

”The Overlord Blade Sect!”

Li Qiutong quickly walked out of the compound, heading toward the location of the Overlord Blade Sect. Quite a few disciples of the Purple Cloud Sword Pavilion followed suit. Of course, the Huasha Sect members were already running after him.

The Overlord Blade Sect was a sect from Mozhou in the north. They possessed immense strength, with a Third Grade Longevity Realm patriarch holding the fort. They specialized in using large and heavy blades. Their martial arts emphasized suppressing opponents with absolute power, swinging their blades like they were wielding doors, letting raw strength overcome all techniques. As a result, the practitioners they produced were all burly men, as they primarily recruited disciples with strong physical foundations. One had to possess an aptitude of at least intermediate level or above...

”HA!”

”HA!”

”SLASH!”

”KILL!”

The architecture of their branch compound was rugged, exuding the aura of the northern deserts. From afar, an aggressive, fierce aura surged forward to meet them.
