Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Lu Yuan’s Background, Dual Sect Prodigy

She truly lived up to her formidable background; her words carried absolute confidence. Lu Yuan had no doubt she could back them up.

His future father-in-law alone was already practically invincible among anyone below the Third Grade. Coupled with his future mother-in-law’s extraordinary background...

But the happiest of all was undeniably Lin Siyao. Her persistence had finally earned her mother’s approval. If she could just gain her father’s approval as well, everything would be perfect. The smile simply never left her face as she envisioned a beautiful future.

Afterward, Lin Siyao continued teaching Lu Yuan other melodies and even other instruments, such as the vertical flute, the ocarina, and the transverse flute.

Lu Yuan displayed absolutely peerless talent in all of them, making rapid progress. In just one afternoon, he mastered eighteen different instruments.

Wei Huiling also started chatting with Song Yumeng, consulting her on some aspects of Martial Arts. Yaoyao stood to the side, giggling foolishly. Meanwhile, Lin Siheng lay flat on his bed indoors, nursing his bruised backside.

That evening, Lin Qingfeng returned home. Song Yumeng told him about the day’s events.

”This kid actually possesses such talent in music?” Lin Qingfeng was astonished. A genius—no matter the field—was bound for extraordinary achievements in the future.

”Indeed, I didn’t expect it either,” Song Yumeng sighed in awe. She had completely misjudged him.

”I’ve already looked into it. He became a disciple of the Celestial Weapon Sect,” Lin Qingfeng reported his findings from the past few days. ”I happened to meet a senior there who spoke extremely highly of the kid.”

”The Celestial Weapon Sect!” Song Yumeng suddenly understood. No wonder he progressed so rapidly. If he had the Celestial Weapon Sect’s inheritance, it made much more sense. The Celestial Weapon Sect was the greatest avenue for Weapon-Forging. With this, Lu Yuan’s future achievements would undoubtedly be even greater.

”Is it the main lineage?” she asked.

”Yes.” Lin Qingfeng nodded. ”The main lineage of the Celestial Weapon Sect currently only has two people. One is named Yan Qing, who is Lu Yuan’s senior brother. He is currently in the Demon Suppression Bureau’s Craft Workshop. His talent isn’t bad either; it won’t be difficult for him to become a top-tier Grand Artisan in the future, and he even has a certain chance of becoming a Divine Artisan.

”I heard Lu Yuan’s Weapon-Forging talent is even better than Yan Qing’s. He possesses the potential of a Divine Artisan!”

The divine weapon inheritance was kept solely within the main lineage. Only by being part of it could one be considered a true member of the Celestial Weapon Sect. Otherwise, they were merely a branch.

”A Divine Artisan!” Song Yumeng was shocked. Such an evaluation was incredible. The strength and status of a Divine Artisan went without saying. They surpassed even a Second-Grade Military Marquis! If Lu Yuan truly displayed the potential of a Divine Artisan, the entire Daqian Dynasty would pour all its resources into cultivating him.

”To think this kid is blessed with such immense luck,” Song Yumeng sighed emotionally.

”Indeed.” Lin Qingfeng’s eyes flickered slightly. Luck was far too ethereal to grasp. He wondered if Lu Yuan had borrowed the Lin Family’s luck, or if their respective fortunes had attracted each other, causing the latter to manifest. Who was superior, who benefited more—it was hard to say until the very end.

”I want Siheng to take that senior as his master,” Lin Qingfeng said.

”Huh?” Song Yumeng instantly raised her brows. So sudden? Take him as a master? Was there something particularly special about that senior?

”That senior is...” Lin Qingfeng began to explain.

”What?” Song Yumeng’s eyes instantly widened.

Meanwhile, at the Lu family’s home.

”What?! The Profound Weapons auctioned by the Hedong Liu Family were all forged by Yuan?” Lu Ming jumped straight out of his chair. ”And this long saber of mine...”

”That’s right. He admitted it himself next door today,” Wei Huiling nodded affirmatively. She still hadn’t fully processed the revelation herself.

”Are you serious? This kid...

”No wonder he was so confident about reaching the Third Grade in the future...” Lu Ming’s expression cleared in sudden realization, his eyes growing brighter and brighter. With the ability of Weapon-Forging, walking the Martial Dao would be much easier. Coupled with his decent Martial Arts talent... The Lu Family had finally produced a supreme genius!

”I know,” Wei Huiling murmured, feeling as if she were in a dream. ”Sister Song also said that Brother Yuan has top-tier talent in Sound Wave Techniques.”

”Sound Wave Techniques?” Lu Ming paused slightly upon hearing this. Sound Wave Techniques were quite niche. Because of their high barrier to entry, very few factions possessed the inheritance for them. The same was true for True Words. However, their power was unquestionable.

”Really?”

”Sister Song said it herself. You don’t know...” Wei Huiling vividly described everything that had happened in the neighboring courtyard that day.

Lu Ming was left speechless and slightly dazed. A music genius! Absolutely peerless! Heavens, his son actually knew music as well? Was he really this outstanding? Weapon-Forging plus music... A dual-path genius! Heaven bless the Lu Family! No wonder he had so many True Essence Pills lately that he couldn’t even finish refining them all. The Lu Family was truly going to rise.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan was in his courtyard, fully focused on tempering his internal organs. He breathed rhythmically, his chest rising and falling as he condensed his Qi into a sword.

Though not much time had passed, his results were already significant. Thanks to his Undying Martial Body, he could nourish and temper his internal organs to the maximum extent. Coupled with an abundant supply of Pills, he was making rapid progress.

His internal organs were now more than twice as strong as they had been before tempering, and his Gang Qi was far purer. His vitality was vastly more vigorous, and his explosive power was stronger and more ferocious. Even his raw physical strength had increased significantly. Naturally, the power behind his swings of the Wind Thunder Saber was now much greater.

However, when it came to the Thunder Blade Triple Annihilation, he could still only execute the first stance, Thunderstorm. The physical demands for the second stance, Thunder Flash, were simply too high. It required his organ tempering to reach major completion and his Gang Qi to reach perfection, achieving a state where his body and internal energy were harmonized into a perfect, unified whole.

Once he successfully mastered the second stance, Thunder Flash, he was confident he could fight head-on against a Seventh Grade martial artist. Right now, Lu Yuan’s top priority was achieving major completion in his organ tempering. Of course, he also needed to upgrade his aptitude to the high tier. A high-tier aptitude belonged to a completely different league. It was the dividing line between merely talented martial artists and true geniuses!

He was only ten points away.

Aside from completing tasks, Lu Yuan had one other option: cultivating a top-tier fist technique. Once he brought it to perfection, the system would likely reward him with ten aptitude points. However, he currently only had 7,276 experience points—not enough to directly upgrade it to perfection. Farming experience points also required tasks.

[Your Dao Companion Su Wan has gained enlightenment in her cultivation. You have received a ten-fold feedback return. 200 experience points have been credited to your account.]

Lu Yuan’s eyes flickered slightly. Alright, add another two hundred. He still had passive income. But even with 7,476 points, it still wasn’t enough.

[In the Martial Dao, aside from life-and-death tempering, exchanging pointers and sparring with other genius martial artists is also highly important.]

[Task Issued: Challenge three genius martial artists from a Sect and defeat them in battle. Completion Reward: 10 aptitude points and 3,000 experience points.]

Note 1: Given the host’s current Cultivation, a ”genius martial artist” is defined as one of the top ten outer disciples of a Sect.

Note 2: It must be a large Sect with over five hundred disciples.

Note 3: The use of Unyielding Will is prohibited.

Right when he needed one, a task had arrived.

But looking at the requirements, Lu Yuan felt a hint of pressure. Sect disciples were strictly filtered to begin with; their entry requirements were likely no lower than those of the Demon Suppression Bureau. For someone to fight their way into the top ten among hundreds of disciples, their strength was easily imaginable. Absolutely none of them would be simple opponents.

As for Lu Yuan, his current advantages lay in his Archery Skill, Hidden Weapons, dual blades, and the Wind Thunder Saber coupled with the Thunder Blade Triple Annihilation. In a formal arena spar, his Archery Skill, Hidden Weapons, Wind Thunder Saber, and Thunder Blade Triple Annihilation would all be forbidden. He would only be able to use his dual blades.

With his advantages severely limited, facing off against Sect geniuses... Those Sect geniuses definitely possessed mid-to-high-tier aptitudes as well, or perhaps even special physiques. Their Martial Arts Realms wouldn’t be weak either. It was bound to be a fierce battle!

Of course, Lu Yuan wasn’t the least bit afraid. He was no longer the same person he used to be. Through all his battles and killings along the way, he had forged an unshakable confidence in himself. Below the Seventh Grade, no matter who the opponent was, he now had the confidence to fight them.

He thought, ”With dual blades, I’m technically fighting two against one!”
