Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 121: Chapter 121: A Challenge at the Door

In the morning, Lu Yuan arrived at the Demon Suppression Bureau.

”Morning.”

”Morning.”

Lu Yuan and Liu Zhi greeted each other.

”Did you and Young Master Su go out on a solo mission again yesterday?” Liu Zhi asked.

”No,” Lu Yuan shook his head.

”No? Then...” Liu Zhi looked confused, but he stopped himself abruptly.

”My sister asked when you’re going to resume Weapon-Forging. You’ve been resting for days and haven’t forged a single Profound Weapon.”

”Do you really treat me as your family’s long-term laborer?” Lu Yuan couldn’t help but roll his eyes upon hearing this.

”Boss! You’re our Boss, alright?” Liu Zhi disagreed. It was obvious that his family were the ones working for him.

”In that case, employees should listen to their Boss,” Lu Yuan said, smiling as he patted Liu Zhi on the shoulder.

His silver coins were sufficient for the time being. His most important task was to practice his Cultivation Technique and improve his Cultivation. Besides, the Weapon-Forging Furnace belonged to Senior Brother Yan Qing, after all; he couldn’t monopolize it every day. Furthermore, rarity increased value—if he forged too many, they would become worthless. He didn’t want to be a Manual Laborer, so from now on, he would only forge five Profound Weapons a month.

Jianng Hongfei had arrived early and was practicing in the pit.

Lu Yuan walked to the edge of the pit and crouched down. ”Did you pay? Who said you could use it?”

”Take it!” Jianng Hongfei directly threw out a silver note.

Lu Yuan caught it and took a look; it had a denomination of fifty taels.

”Not enough.”

”You...” Jianng Hongfei took a deep breath. ”At worst, I’ll just have someone dig another one.” He certainly didn’t lack silver coins now.

”Keep practicing.” Lu Yuan waved his hand and stood up to leave. The gap in their strength was too large now; teasing Jianng Hongfei was no longer interesting.

Mu Lingche... Lu Yuan didn’t want to pay him any mind. Mu Lingyan had completely offended him. Yu Qiuyang arrived right on Time, and Lu Yuan wanted to interact with him even less. So, he continued to practice his Cultivation Technique.

It was almost noon.

”Your father’s matter has been sorted out,” Qin Gang came over and informed Lu Yuan.

”Thank you, Squadron Commander!” Lu Yuan expressed his gratitude.

”However, you must maintain secrecy. He is a sleeper agent and has a designated superior. Do not disclose this to anyone else,” Qin Gang reminded him.

”Understood!” Lu Yuan nodded.

Old Lu’s identity as a sleeper agent wasn’t as strictly guarded as an undercover spy, but concealing his information was a form of protection. Otherwise, it would cause many inconveniences and potentially bring trouble. If he hadn’t asked Qin Gang for help with this matter, no one would have even told him it was done. Such secrets needed to be kept, even between father and son.

With Old Lu’s matter settled, Lu Yuan breathed a sigh of relief. By joining the Demon Suppression Bureau, the intelligence Old Lu had previously provided to them could all be converted into Contribution Points. Redeeming a powerful Cultivation Technique wouldn’t be a problem. When the time came, coupled with his abundant supply of Pills, he believed it wouldn’t take long for Old Lu to reach the Seventh Grade Peak, and then they could figure out a way for him to break through to the Sixth Grade...

After lunch, Lu Yuan left the Demon Suppression Bureau, having changed his clothes.

”Brother Lu, where are we...” Liu Zhi followed him.

”I plan to find an expert from a Sect to challenge,” Lu Yuan answered, heading straight for the Huasha Sect.

”Ah? Then why...” Liu Zhi paused in surprise. He wondered why Lu Yuan made this decision so suddenly. Weren’t there enough experts in the Demon Suppression Bureau?

”Sparring within the Demon Suppression Bureau easily leads to conflicts or grudges. It’s much less of a hassle to find people from a Sect,” Lu Yuan smiled.

Where there were matches, there were winners and losers. If you encountered someone petty who lost and held a grudge, they would wait for an opportunity to cause minor troubles or exact petty revenge. Sect disciples were different. The Bureau and Sects were already somewhat opposed to each other, so they could spar as intensely as they wanted.

The headquarters of various Sects were mostly located in the Third Ring, with a small number of top-tier ones in the Second Ring. The Huasha Sect belonged to the Middle Class among Fourth-Grade Sects, and their headquarters were also within the Third Ring, not too far from the Demon Suppression Bureau. It didn’t take long for the two to arrive.

However...

BANG BANG BANG—

THUD THUD THUD—

Before they even entered the courtyard, they heard the sounds of an intense fight coming from inside.

As they reached the entrance...

BAM—

A figure was sent flying. Another figure stood tall and proud in the center. The match had been decided.

”Senior Brother Zhen lost!”

”Senior Brother Zhen actually lost!”

”Where did this Han Li come from? How is he so formidable?”

The dozens of Huasha Sect disciples looked grim, and some appeared completely crestfallen.

”Haha, I concede! You let me win! Haha...” A burly young man cupped his fists toward the crowd.

Lu Yuan thought, ”Han Li!” He and Liu Zhi saw this scene as soon as they peeked in. This guy had actually come too, and even earlier than him!

”Everyone...” Lu Yuan walked in and cupped his fists. ”I am Lu Yuan. I wish to seek guidance from the genius experts of the Huasha Sect.”

”Here comes another one!”

”Where did this guy come from?”

”He doesn’t look very old...”

”Does he think our Huasha Sect is a pushover?”

The Huasha Sect disciples were all getting worked up. They had just been defeated, so everyone was in a foul mood.

Han Li thought, ”Lu Yuan!” His gaze hardened as he saw him. He shot a glance at Lu Yuan and pretended not to know him.

”Alright, we’ll spar again when there’s a chance in the future! Farewell!”

SWOOSH—

He quickly left.

No one stopped him. After all, it was broad daylight, and it was a fair and open match. He had defeated their most powerful disciple right in their own courtyard. Did they still want revenge? If they were unsatisfied, they should find someone stronger. If they couldn’t even stomach this much, there would be no need for them to keep their doors open in the Jade Capital in the future.

”Lu Yuan, you’ve only just entered the Eighth Grade, yet you dare to come challenge our Huasha Sect?” Cen Hui stepped forward, exposing him.

”Initial Stage Eighth Grade...”

”Only Initial Stage Eighth Grade!”

”Where did he get the courage?”

”Does he really take our Huasha Sect for a pushover?”

The Huasha Sect disciples were highly agitated.

Among the dozens of Outer Disciples of the Huasha Sect present here, twenty to thirty of them had an Eighth Grade Cultivation. There was no lack of experts at the High Tier or Peak. Without a High Tier Eighth Grade Cultivation, he dared to casually come challenge them? He truly looked down on them too much.

”I only challenge geniuses—the top ten among your Outer Disciples,” Lu Yuan stated his conditions.

”Arrogant!”

”You’re not worthy!”

”I’ll teach you a lesson!”

A strong young man stepped right out, his arms, waist, and legs all remarkably thick. He had an Initial Stage Eighth Grade Cultivation.

”You’re determined not to respect my opinion, aren’t you?” Lu Yuan stretched out a single finger and suddenly poked him in the chest.

BAM—

The man was instantly sent flying backward.

THUD THUD—

He crashed into three or four disciples, flying a full seven or eight meters away before coming to a stop.

”High Tier Eighth Grade!”

”High Tier Eighth Grade!”

”Cen Hui, didn’t you say he had just entered the Eighth Grade?”

The Huasha Sect disciples were furious. They were told it was the Initial Stage, but it turned out to be the High Tier. That was a difference of two entire tiers... The most hateful thing in the world was being deceived! And by one of their own, no less.

Cen Hui’s mind went blank, and then he quickly shook his head. ”Impossible! Impossible! Half a month ago, he was still in the Ninth Grade! This...”

”What? Half a month ago, he was still in the Ninth Grade! How is that possible?”

”What nonsense are you spouting?”

”Cen Hui, stop spouting nonsense!”

”Cen Hui, you bastard...”

”Step down!”

The Huasha Sect disciples frowned, growing even angrier.

He was going too far and speaking more and more rubbish. In half a month, improving by a Tier Three First-Grade—is that something a Human can achieve? It was utterly impossible! For a Ninth Grade to try to make a name for himself this way truly treated everyone else like idiots.

”It’s true! About twenty days ago, I fought him myself!” Cen Hui hurriedly offered proof. ”I have witnesses!”
