Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Peerless Prodigy

”I’ve recently been cultivating a martial art that requires a knowledge of music theory.” Lu Yuan stood up and gave a simple bow.

”Oh? What martial art?” Song Yumeng revealed an interested expression.

It would be understandable if it was for a martial art. But wasn’t this change a bit too fast? Or had Lu Yuan actually joined a mysterious sect long ago and only recently started to show his true colors?

”The Little Heavenly Gang Meteor Hammer. I wonder if you have heard of it, Mrs. Lin?” Lu Yuan asked with a smile.

His senior brother, Yan Qing, had made no effort to conceal his practice, and the sounds of his hammering often rang out naturally, which meant the Little Heavenly Gang Meteor Hammer wasn’t exclusive to the Celestial Weapon Sect. Or rather, it had long since spread to the various Weapon-Forging Sects throughout the world via the Celestial Weapon Sect.

”Little Heavenly Gang Meteor Hammer!” Song Yumeng’s eyes narrowed.

Naturally, she knew of this famous Hammer Technique in the Weapon-Forging Realm; she had even looked into it specifically. She had thought Lu Yuan was learning some other Sound Wave Martial Arts, but she never expected it to be the Little Heavenly Gang Meteor Hammer. It wasn’t an orthodox Sound Wave Martial Art; it was actually more of a Hammer Technique that merely borrowed some Music Law and theory.

”This is a Weapon-Forging Sect’s Hammer Technique. Are you learning weapon forging?” she asked.

”Yes, I have been for a while now,” Lu Yuan nodded.

”Learning weapon forging is not bad, but achieving any success in it is difficult.” The glow on Song Yumeng’s face faded.

Weapon forging was a fine craft, but very few could master it. She understood that Lu Yuan probably wanted to narrow the gap between himself and the Lin family through weapon forging. The path he had chosen wasn’t bad, either. The fact that he had access to the Little Heavenly Gang Meteor Hammer meant his inheritance wasn’t weak. But precisely because of this, he might be barred from even grasping the basics.

”Yes, it is indeed difficult,” Lu Yuan nodded.

He was serious. If he didn’t have his system, he would probably still be lingering outside the door right now.

”You two may continue.” Song Yumeng returned to her room.

She thought that if Lu Yuan truly had a talent for music theory, he might actually be able to master the Little Heavenly Gang Meteor Hammer. When that time came, if he walked the path of a Weapon Master, even if he didn’t achieve great wealth, he wouldn’t be impoverished. It could be considered a decent way out.

Lu Yuan continued practicing the zither.

With the blessing of his peerless talent in the Sound Dao, it truly felt as if he had divine assistance. His progress was astonishing. On his first playthrough, he grasped the majority of the piece. By the second time, he achieved great mastery! The third time, the music sublimated. The fourth time, it elevated again!

Fifth, sixth...

The seventh time.

STRUM.

A few butterflies fluttered over.

CHIRP CHIRP.

A dozen or so sparrows began circling above the Lin family’s courtyard.

STRUM.

Sitting in the courtyard, Lin Siyao felt as if spring had arrived, the sun had risen, and the snow had melted. Even the Profound Yin Qi within her body seemed less freezing.

STRUM.

Song Yumeng returned to the courtyard once again. The look in her eyes had completely changed, filled with both suspicion and endless brilliance. She wondered what was going on with this boy.

RUSTLE RUSTLE.

Two more heads popped up over the wall outside the Lin family’s courtyard, their expressions and gazes constantly shifting.

Finally, Lu Yuan stayed his hands. The butterflies scattered, and the birds flew away.

”Son, when did you learn to play the zither? How are you so amazing? I thought it was Siyao or Sister Song playing,” Wei Huiling spoke up.

”Young Master is so amazing! Young Master plays so beautifully!” Yaoyao clapped her hands in applause.

”Brother Yuan is truly a genius, much better than me. You could exclusively walk the Sound Dao in the future,” Lin Siyao said, her eyes sparkling with vibrant colors. She was truly overjoyed and utterly surprised, never expecting Brother Yuan to possess such peerless talent in this area.

Sound was also one of the Great Daos of Heaven and Earth. There were Sound Wave Martial Arts in the world, as well as specialized mantra mudras that were profound, unpredictable, and immensely powerful. There were also methods that used sound to drive the circulation of power, absorbing Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi to rapidly improve Cultivation, or to break through realms, comprehend the Dao, and so on. Each path promised a bright future and offered tremendous assistance.

”Did you truly just learn this piece today?” Song Yumeng asked solemnly.

”Siyao just taught me,” Lu Yuan nodded.

”Yes, I just taught him,” Lin Siyao chimed in to verify.

”If that is true, then if you walk the path of Sound Wave Techniques in the future, your prospects will be limitless.” Song Yumeng’s eyes flickered.

If Lu Yuan was a peerless genius in the Sound Dao, then he would be a worthy match for her daughter. Siyao also happened to love vocal music. When the time came, the two of them could combine their sounds perfectly, directly sweeping away everything in their path...

”Yes. A Sound Wave Technique needs a cultivator to be at the Seventh Grade, or even the Sixth Grade, to unleash its immense power. I will consider it in the future,” Lu Yuan nodded. He would definitely cultivate Sound Wave Techniques in the future; they were martial arts of mass destruction, and they belonged to the Qimen Martial Arts.

”Good!” For the first time, Song Yumeng gave Lu Yuan rare, genuine praise. ”When your Cultivation breaks through to the Seventh Grade, I will gift you a powerful Sound Wave Technique!”

”Then I thank you in advance, Mrs. Lin.” Lu Yuan gladly accepted.

”By the way, with such high talent in music theory, cultivating the Little Heavenly Gang Meteor Hammer shouldn’t be a problem for you,” Song Yumeng realized.

With that kind of talent, coupled with having practiced the Cyan Gang Fist to perfection since childhood, comprehending and mastering the Little Heavenly Gang Meteor Hammer shouldn’t be difficult. Once he succeeded in the Weapon-Forging Dao, and added Sound Wave Techniques later on, this boy’s future would suddenly broaden immensely.

”Actually, I have already mastered the Little Heavenly Gang Meteor Hammer,” Lu Yuan confessed honestly.

”What? You...” Song Yumeng was stunned, her eyes flashing. She wondered if he was telling the truth. If his music-learning talent from just now was anything to go by, then...

”I’ve already forged over a dozen Upper Grade Profound Weapons, and I auctioned ten of them. The Hedong Liu family helped me manage it,” Lu Yuan revealed a bit more of his bottom line.

SWISH.

Wei Huiling vaulted over the wall in a single leap. ”The Hedong Liu family? Are you sure it’s *that* Liu family from Hedong?”

”Yes,” Lu Yuan nodded.

”Those were forged by you?” Wei Huiling was completely dumbfounded. ”A few days ago, the Hedong Liu family held a Profound Weapon auction. I heard a single Profound Weapon auctioned for over Thirty Thousand Taels. With the others, the total came to nearly One Hundred Thousand Taels...”

After learning that her son was making money through weapon forging, she had specifically asked around, which was how she found out about the Liu family’s auction. Thinking back to the gifts delivered that day, she had never dared to be sure, much less believe it, but she never expected this boy to personally admit it now. He really was honest in front of his future mother-in-law. She wondered just how much money he had made.

”Profound Weapons... thirty thousand...” Hearing this, Song Yumeng’s gaze couldn’t help but shift as well.

Unlike Wei Huiling, who came from a humble background, she hailed from a Major Sect. She knew far better what caliber a Profound Weapon had to be to auction for Thirty Thousand Taels. It was absolutely the peak of peak existences. Only a genius Craftsman at the absolute pinnacle could forge such a thing.

But the most crucial point was that Lu Yuan wasn’t even sixteen yet. This made it even more astonishing. The status of a top-tier Craftsman was comparable to a Sixth Grade martial artist. With enough talent, he could even become a Grand Artisan in the future and forge Spiritual Weapons. If this news were to spread, the entire Jade Capital would tremble. Even the Weapon-Forging Realm of the entire Daqian Dynasty would be shaken and thrown into upheaval.

”It seems you are also a top-tier genius in the Weapon-Forging Dao. Not bad, very good! In the future, utilize your abilities to the fullest. Although Mr. Lin and I aren’t vastly capable, we can still protect you. We can help you solve any troubles below the Third Grade!”
