Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

This was practically an advantage that was sent to his doorstep. Hong Dali decisively commanded, “Kiss your future sister-in-law!”

Then, Quentin licked Tang Muxin.

Seeing how obedient Quentin was, Tang Muxin wasn’t scared anymore. She grinned and said, “So itchy! Dali, can you let me hug him for a while? He seems really docile, not at all troublesome.”

“Sure.” Hong Dali placed Quentin in Tang Muxin’s arms. “You can carry him for a while. I’m tired, anyway.”

Once Quentin landed in her arms, he moved here and there, causing Tang Muxin to giggle. Just at this time, Hong Dali suddenly shouted, “The big villain is here. Quick, hide!”

Then, Quentin buried his head into Tang Muxin’s chest, causing her face to blush. “You big villain! Both of you are big villains! This silly thing is taking advantage of me!”

Hong Dali sniffled and said, “It’s a she. I checked. So it’s not counted as taking advantage of you, right…”

Ptui! [1. The sound of spitting]

…

Today, the whole of the west fourth loop was alarmed.

“Mummy, look. There’s a little tiger there!” A little girl of about four years old pointed at Quentin who was walking beside Hong Dali’s leg. “It’s so adorable, it really is a tiger!”

“That… that is…” Mummy’s head was full of sweat. “That can’t be a real tiger, can it…”

Quentin looked at their direction, panted loudly, and continued its walk, full of valiance and vigor.

“It really is a tiger—AHHH!!!” Mummy was almost shocked to death. She quickly grabbed her child and carried her away. “Quick, let’s get out of here. Be careful, it will eat you!”

“It wouldn’t do that. Mummy, look, a small white kitty is lying on top of that tiger’s head. How cute!” The little girl acted like she discovered a new continent, struggling to get down. “Mummy, I want to go and look at them, please?”

“Well…” The tiger’s head did have a kitty lying on top of it, it shouldn’t be so fearsome then…” OK, I will go and ask them if we can take a picture. You stay here first. But be careful, it may bite you.”

“Yup, OK.” The little girl nodded her head obediently.

Mummy carefully approached Hong Dali and asked him from two meters away, “This… this Young Master. My, my child would like to see your small tiger cub, is that… is that OK?”

This proved the saying that a mother’s love was the most mighty and courageous in the Universe. In normal times, facing Hong Dali, who was obviously a hedonist, normal people would definitely stay as far away from him as possible. But now, to fulfill her child’s wish, she gathered her entire courage.

Luckily, although Hong Dali’s aspiration was to be the greatest prodigal in this world, his moral quality was still not bad. “Oh, sure. If she wants to take a look, then let her come. But remember, she needs to be gentle.”

Hearing Hong Dali’s approval, Mummy let out a long breath. She turned around and waved to her child. “Baby, come here. Come see the tiger cub!”

“OK!” The little girl diligently ran over to Hong Dali’s side. Then, she squatted down and, bit by bit, moved towards Quentin. After a while, she finally stepped in front of it. The little girl cocked her head and looked at Quentin, hesitated for a while, and gradually reached out with her small hand and carefully touched the fur on Quentin’s back.

Speaking of which, because o Hong Dali’s “Animas’ Best Friend” Title Effect, Quentin was more docile than the most docile dog. She actually closed her eyes and rubbed her head against the little girl’s tender, small hand.

Giggle. “Mummy, she’s so obedient!” The little girl was so happy that she kept laughing. Mummy saw that she was happy and felt that this was a rare chance, so she quickly took out her phone and took this classic and heartwarming picture.

Tang Muxin secretly pulled on Hong Dali’s sleeve. “Dali, Quentin is really docile. How did you do it?”

If it were someone else answering this question, it would be difficult for them to reply. But for Hong Dali, it was just a piece of cake. “This fellow also wants to be a prodigal. Yup, a tiger prodigal. This is what is known as getting influenced by what you interact with…”

Tang Muxin: “…”

Very quickly, their activities attracted many other small children nearby. Seeing that there was a small and cute tiger here that allowed people to touch it and wouldn’t get angry, they all begged their parents to let them go too. In just a short moment, Hong Dali and his group were surrounded by a lot of people.

Luckily, this was his territory. These people frequently saw him walking the dogs around, and therefore, didn’t ask for his autograph and picture taking for their children…

Basically, everyone’s attention was captured by the lovable tiger cub, Quentin.

Momentarily, the snapping sounds of picture taking didn’t stop at all.

Since he didn’t have anything to do anyway, Hong Dali decided to share his job with other people! At this time, Hong Dali felt quite satisfied. He felt like an emperor who was inspecting his land and people in disguise—he had to admit, this was quite a good feeling.

Just as the people were taking pictures with Quentin, Hong Dali suddenly saw a little girl in the distance. She popped out from a corner, looking at the crowd. She was about 13 to 14 years old, her face black from dirt, hiding her original complexion. She looked frightened. When she saw Hong Dali looking at her, she immediately pulled back in fear and lowered her head.

“What’s up with this girl?” Hong Dali curiously looked again. As expected, after that little girl pulled back and hid, she secretly popped out again after a while. She looked at Quentin, who was surrounded by children, her face full of longing.

“Hm? She wants to look at Quentin too but doesn’t dare to come?” Since he was a hedonist, he should act like one too. Hong Dali didn’t waste any words and immediately ordered one of the male lackeys, “Go and bring that child over here.”

“No problem!” The male lackey was indeed a professional. He used a speed worthy of a 100-meter race challenge and brought back the girl in just ten seconds… or maybe eight seconds.

When she was in front of him, Hong Dali carefully sized her up. Although there was a lot of dirt on the child’s face, her eyes were pitch black and spirited. She obviously didn’t look like an ordinary young beggar.

“What’s your name?” Hong Dali sniffled. “Why didn’t you dare to come over?”

“My… my name is Lin Zixuan…” The little girl said in a crisp voice. When she spoke, her two rows of bright and shiny, white teeth could be faintly seen, totally not fitting with her outside appearance.

Having said her name, Lin Zixuan wriggled her finger, softly saying, “Big Brother, I, I don’t have any money. Can, can you let me go, please?”

When she said that, Hong Dali was instantly amused. “It’s not like I’m going to snatch your money, what are you afraid of? Speaking of which, how did you get yourself so dirty? Where are your parents? Why didn’t they take care of you? Let me send you home, OK?”

“I… I don’t want to go home…” Lin Zixuan’s eyes rolled about, and suddenly, her lips flattened, her pair of spirited eyes filled with tears. “My father sold me to a rich family to be their child bride. I secretly ran off halfway, and I’m not sure where I can go now. I haven’t had a full meal in days…”

Such a small Lolita ran away from home and ended up in the Imperial Capital, Tianjing?

What an amazing journey. Hong Dali asked, “Then, how did you come here? Can you tell me? If you tell me, I will buy for you big buns and soup.”

“Really?” Lin Zixuan seemed unable to believe her ears. But once she thought about how Hong Dali could even bring a tiger out on the streets, he probably wouldn’t go back on his words. Instantly, she softly said, “I, I secretly hid in a chest in the storage compartment of a big bus. I was very sleepy and fell asleep. When I woke up, I was already here…”

Hid in a chest that was in the storage compartment of a big bus, and arrived here once she woke up?

By right, people who still do child brides shouldn’t be anywhere around the Imperial Capital, right? Even if she slept through the journey, she should have slept for at most ten hours or so—that shouldn’t be enough for her to get here based on the traveling time…

Just as he was puzzled, a small bus zipped past. Lin Zixuan pointed at the logo on the bus and said, “The bus had that logo as well.”

Hong Dali looked at it and instantly understood—Hurricane Express Delivery…

Fine, so this little lass treated herself as a package and mailed herself here…

Although she spoke of it simply, Hong Dali wasn’t silly—he really never heard of anyone mailing themselves as a package before. But from the current looks of things, this little lass definitely experienced some huge obstacles, that was for sure. Whatever the case, the proper thing to do now was to bring her over to have a meal first then think of a way to secretly investigate her background. Hong Dali’s background was quite unique, so he had to be careful that this might be a plot from someone targeting at him or his family.

Therefore, Hong Dali resolutely asked the lackeys to disperse the crowd and went to a nearby eatery.

Actually, with Hong Dali’s current status, he would definitely not eat at such a small place. But his reason was quite simple: After having starved for a long time, it wasn’t good for the stomach to eat something too oily. Therefore, she needed buns and plain vegetables to adjust her body first. Then, after another two days or so, he would let her eat something better.

After entering the small eatery, the lackeys naturally did everything. At the same time, Hong Dali secretly instructed one of the male lackeys to go around the vicinity to inquire on Lin Zixuan’s background. His identity was unique, so he had to ensure his safety.

As for Lin Zixuan, she was wolfing down her food. The male lackey came back very quickly. He came to Hong Dali’s side and softly said, “This little girl has been loitering around this area for quite long, about half a month. Quite a lot of people has given her food before, but it’s unclear where exactly she’s from.”

Half a month, that was when I had only just arrived in this world.

If using the time to calculate, this little lass shouldn’t be sent here as an undercover—after all, if she had already started preparing from that time, such an opportunity to meet Hong Dali and interact with him now was unlikely.

After wolfing down the two buns and bowl of plain vegetable soup that Hong Dali bought for her, Lin Zixuan blissfully rubbed her stomach. “I’m full. Big Brother, thank you!” As she said so, she stood up to leave. But Hong Dali pulled her back and said, “Why are you in such a rush to leave?”

When Hong Dali finished saying this, Lin Zixuan, whose face was full of blissfulness, instantly teared up. “Big Brother, why are you still not letting me leave? You… are you going to… to bully me?”
