“Hehe, of course.” Hong Dali gleefully stroked his hair. “Didn’t I say it before? Once a person has a good mood and is happy, he will definitely meet with something good! Do you finally believe me?”

“Believe, I believe!” Tang Muxin nodded her head furiously. “Let’s get started now!”

“Of course.” Hong Dali smiled and walked to towards Qiu Qiu, hooked his arm around his thick and round neck, and laughed as if he were a 10-year marketing professional. “Fatty, I have a good job for you, do you want it? It includes food and shelter, and a salary of 5000 every month, as well as many other benefits if you perform well. To summarise it in a sentence, you will not lose out! I believe that it will not take long before you will be promoted to become a general manager and even a CEO. You will then be able to have any type of woman you like and reach the peak of your life. Think about it, don’t you feel excited?”

“Food and accommodation included! 5000 a month! And even other rewards!” Fatty Qiu Qiu breathed out a few gusts of hot air from his nostrils. “Becoming a general manager and even a CEO. Getting top beauties! I’m in! Big Bro Dali, please let me in, ahhhh!”

“OK!” After a loud reply of confirmation, Hong Dali whispered into his ears, “Firstly, you have to quit your current job. And then… After that… Understand?”

“Understood! I will definitely do as you say!” Qiu Qiu nodded his head as if his life depended on it. “I will go quit my current job first then!”

“This is a tip for you.” Hong Dali pointed to the tens of thousands of dollars on the ground. “This 10,000 yuan is compensation for your resignation from your current job. Hahaha, let’s go.” When he said he was going to leave, he really did so without looking back. He didn’t even bother to look and pick up the gold chain, car key, and house key on the ground—these things were naturally done by the lackeys.

…

Time flew past, and soon, it was night time.

Tianjing Satellite TV, Director’s office.

Director Huang was resting on the leather sofa, sipping on a cup of tea in his left hand, while holding the mobile phone on his other hand. “Aiya, Manager Zhao. I know that the TV series ratings are good, but I can’t do anything either—time is too tight, too tight. Think about it, the prime time only lasts for two hours, from 8 pm to 10 pm. Everyone is fighting to get this slot too. I really can’t do anything about it.”

On the other side of the phone, Manager Zhao hurriedly said, “Director Huang, you must help me out! I can guarantee you that for this TV series, the ratings will definitely be explosive. I dare not say how high it will go, but reaching two to five percentage points of viewership is absolutely guaranteed. If my TV series, which has a good script and a novel concept, is to be broadcast during the prime time, it will definitely be good for the station too!”

“About this…” Director Huang thought again and said, “Manager Zhao, we have known each other for a long time and have cooperated with your company, Warwick Entertainment Media, many times. I will not beat around the bush with you. This time, for the prime time slot, I have to choose the best program which can receive the highest ratings. It’s not that your program is not good enough, but more of me being unable to confirm it now. Do you understand what I mean?”

Director Huang said helplessly, “I know that the conditions you’re giving are good. However, the incident of Miss Li Nianwei changing companies from Warwick Entertainment has caused your company to fall in popularity. Otherwise, if it were in the past, your company would not even need to worry about such things. But I too am unable to do anything. If the ratings of Tianjing Satellite TV do not go up, I will not be able to keep my position. You have to at least think about it for me, right?”

“Then, what do you need in order to promise us the slot?” An urgent voice could be heard from the other side of the phone. “I really need this prime time slot.”

“Don’t worry, I will consider carefully.” Director Huang said. “I will choose a few similar programs first, compare them, and then give you a reply. If there is none better than yours, I will arrange the prime time slot for you. But if there is…”

“What if there is?” Manager Zhao asked. “Does that mean our TV series will not be broadcasted anymore?”

“Let’s do it like this.” Director Huang continued. “If there is a show better than yours, I will arrange your show to be broadcast at 10 pm. The viewership will not be bad too. What do you think?”

The phone became quiet for a while before Manager Zhao helplessly continued, “Then, I will just wait I guess. Director Huang, if it’s possible, please give priority to our program. Please!”

“Okay. Then we will settle it like this for now. Bye Bye.”

Putting down the phone, Director Huang smiled disdainfully and said, “Priority? You didn’t even manage to promote Li Nianwei, a golden Pheonix, can you even have any future? If I put on your show, I’m afraid I will be killed. Do you think I’m stupid?”

While he was thinking, the phone suddenly rang again. Picking up the phone and looking at it, he realized it was an unknown number, and thus became curious. Who is this? How do they my phone number? After answering the call, he warmly greeted. “Hello, may I ask who you are? Yes…”

On the other side of the phone, there was a soft female voice. “Hello, are you Director Huang of Tianjing Satellite TV?”

“Ah yes, that’s me.” Director Huang asked with a hint of confusion. “May I know who you are?”

“I’m Cai Wei Entertainment’s Zhang Cai. I wonder if Director Huang has an impression of me?” the female voice slowly said. There was no need to ask, the person was naturally Li Nianwei’s agent, Zhang Cai.

“Cai Wei Entertainment? You’re Miss Li Nianwei’s agent?” Hearing that the person was Zhang Cai, Director Huang was instantly refreshed. Even the way of addressing Zhang Cai changed. “Yes, yes. I’m honored to have you call me. May I know what this is about? Unless…”

But now the other party was contacting him first. Unless good things really could drop from the sky?

Unfortunately, reality was always cruel. “I’m sorry, Miss Li Nianwei will not be participating in this program.”

“Not participating?” Director Huang’s enthusiasm was immediately doused. “This… Miss Zhang Cai, you too know that 8 pm is the prime time and is very important. If I don’t choose a good program, the ratings will be ruined. I’m afraid that I will then no longer be able to keep my position…”
