Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

As the car arrived at the boundary, everyone alighted.

Mu Zixiao stood facing “Wash, Cut, Blow” Master Wang. Mu Zixiao posed and said, “Old man, I’m really giving all I have and won’t hold back. It’s not too late to surrender. Don’t land yourself in the hospital due to my beating.”

Master Wang casually relaxed his arms and legs and took a pipe from his pocket. He smoked as he said, “Don’t worry. Can I really show all that I got? You will not take revenge?”

“You must be kidding. I would not do something like that.” Right after Mu Zixiao spoke, he loudly shouted, “Watch out!”

His shout was earth-shaking. Even Hong Dali, who was standing at the side, could feel the ground move. He then saw that Mu Zixiao had his fist out. His punch was quick, lethal, and accurate. Then…

Then he saw Master Wang, who was as skinny as a monkey, flying up the sky using Mu Zixiao’s fist, and then squatting on Mu Zixiao’s shoulder smoking.Huff puff… He took two deep breaths and laughed. “Young man, you’re a little too slow.”

Everyone’s jaw dropped to the ground.

As Hong Dali’s dedicated driver, Wang Mingyu was also trained in martial arts. Watching Master Wang flaunt his moves, he could not help but praise him. “Great! This is a great master!”

Tang Muxin whispered, “Uncle Wang, can you beat him?”

Wang Mingyu decisively shook his head. “I’m no match for him.”

Tang Muxin let out a long sigh. Hong Dali’s luck was unbelievably good. Who would have thought that this old man was so skilled? Even driver-cum-bodyguard Wang Mingyu was no match for him.

There was a saying that once an expert showed his skills, everyone would be able to tell if it was real or fake. Continuing the fight was pointless. Mu Zixiao was utterly convinced. “Master, you really are a master! I’m convinced. Completely convinced!” There was no way for Mu Zixiao to deny. If Master Wang had shown his full potential, he could easily slap him a few times. But he did not. And Mu Zixiao had no reason to continue the fight.

In any case, It was obvious to everyone present who had the winning hand.

Master Wang jumped off Mu Zixiao’s shoulders with ease, laughing as he walked towards Hong Dali. He ruffled his hair, slightly embarrassed. “Young Master Dali, do you think I have what it takes? Am I eligible to take on this job which offers 5000 a month?” The 5000 yuan had been on his mind this whole time.

Without beating around the bush, Hong Dali raised salary by ten times. “Fifty thousand a month.” His eyes sparkled. “You shall be my lackeys’ martial arts teacher from now on, Geezer Wang. What do you think?”

Mu Zixiao suddenly got anxious. He rushed toward Geezer Wang and hugged his leg. “Master! You’re my Master! I will offer you 100,000 a month! Please teach me your skills!”

Geezer Wang shook him off his leg without replying. “Young man, there should be an order for everything, right? I have already agreed to Young Master Dali. We have to keep our promises. Young Master Dali, are you serious in giving me 50,000 a month?”

Hong Dali laughed as he said, “As real as 24K pure gold! What’s your decision?”

Geezer Wang agreed at an instant. “I’ll do it!”

Mu Zixiao’s face was covered with tears.

Who would have thought that an old man who sped and knocked off someone’s rearview mirror would be a martial arts expert? He had lagged one step behind.

Hong Dali felt bad for Mu Zixiao and said, “Old Xiao, do you like martial arts this much? You are not bad yourself, how long have you been training?”

Mu Zixiao sat on the floor and sighed. “Ten years. I thought my skills were good, and I was confident to go against five or six amateurs. Who would have thought? Even if I think I’m the best, there is always someone better.” He started to get worked up as he spoke. “Geezer Wang, why would you go around knocking off people’s rearview mirrors for no reason? If you’re short of money, you can always look for me. With your skills, it would be no problem paying you 100,000 or more.”

Geezer Wang took out his cigarette bag and hit Mu Zixiao on his head with aPAK sound. “Why would you say that, brat?” Mu Zixiao immediately regretted what he said, but there was no way to avoid it. He could only listen to Geezer Wang. “In this time and era, learning martial arts should only be for strengthening the body. Why would it matter if you’re highly skilled or less skilled? You can’t feed off it! You can’t possibly go rob someone with your skills, and neither can you earn any money off it. Besides, why did you learn martial arts in the first place? Is it used to beat people you dislike?”

Mu Zixiao’s face revealed his hurt expression. “That… that’s not it… I use it to protect myself…”

Geezer Wang snorted. “Aren’t you embarrassed to say that? I felt your aura when I got in the car. The feeling of you wanting to pick a fight with someone from training too much. Young man, in the olden days, people trained to fight evil and help the poor. Now, in the ‘rule of law’ society, you’re wrong if you think that learning martial arts is to show your ability.” He turned to look at Hong Dali. “Young Master Dali, let me ask you a question. If I teach you all my skills, would you be willing to learn them?”

Hearing Geezer Wang, everyone around looked with envy. It might be an exaggeration, but one would become a modern day hero by learning all his skills.

Hong Dali decisively said without a second thought, “I’m not learning these things. It’s my wish to be a prodigal son. Fighting and killing do not suit me.”

Everyone around sighed. Mu Zixiao was even more depressed.

What was given to Hong Dali so easily was something he could not get. This was the vast difference between them.

Geezer Wang smiled as he shook his head. “I knew it. That’s why I’m willing to follow you. Of course, the salary is one of the factors. Hehe.” He took another two puffs on his cigarette as he spoke. “Having said that, I have come to understand that martial arts can be used to both cultivate values and preserve health. But it’s absolutely no good to use it as a weapon.”

As he spoke, Geezer Wang walked to a nearby tree. He drew a half circle with his left hand and gave a hard push. The tree broke into two in an instant with a Ke chi sound. He said, “I could use more strength. But other than someone with Young Master Dali’s personality, there’s no way I could impart my skills to anyone else. If they took one wrong step along the way, they could kill others without blinking…” He revealed sadness knowing there would be nobody to impart his skills to.

It was no wonder he was so depressed. In modern society, it was inevitable for people to squabble with each other. The young people were so rash and reckless, the arguing would easily lead to fights. Who could bear it?

As he was feeling lonely, Hong Dali was stunned and said, “Damn, 18 Palm Attacks to Defeat Dragons?! Are you Hong Qigong?!”
