Shanghai, Tianhai City, So Cool Information and Culture Development Private Limited headquarters, So Cool Building twelfth floor, inside a small meeting room.

“Director Wu, why did you gather us in such a rush for?”

“That’s right, the last time we had such an urgent meeting, that must have been two years ago?”

“Could it be that something good has fallen upon us again?”

In the meeting room, seven executives of So Cool Enterprise were gathered. The leader was dressed in a suit, his face flushed and his hair combed till they shone. He was the Director of So Cool Enterprise, Wu Youdao.

He was called Youdao 1 . In fact, he really lived up to his name. During the internet time that was still before broadband existed, he had already started to develop the video-sharing website. At that time, it was said to be throwing money in the river and could only see the ripples. But in less than two years, broadband was created, and So Cool video-sharing website rose to fame, taking over all of the Heavenly State and becoming the undisputed leader in the field.

The net-worth of So Cool video-sharing website also rose from the original 10.2 million yuan to today’s three billion yuan.

This all happened because of Wu Youdao’s extraordinary insight.

This time, since he gathered everyone together in the middle of the night, it was definitely not a small matter.

“Chief Editor Zheng, you can start.” Wu Youdao looked at the 40 plus years old middle-aged man with a Mediterranean hairstyle besides him. “You explain first, I will fill in the rest.”

“Yup, OK.” Chief Editor Zheng coughed, cleared his throat and said, “The reason for gathering everyone here is because Miss Zhang Cai from Cai Wei Entertainment called me just now. She said that their Young Master’s new filmUnexpectedly! has finished producing. We haven’t seen the original video yet, but what I want to say is that we must be fast if we want it.”

When he finished, the other people instantly started discussing.

“Young Master? The organizer of Miss Nianwei’s concert?”

“That superprodigal? His ideas are always not bad!”

“That’s true. Although he is a superprodigal, his scenes are always big. His film shouldn’t be too bad, we should definitely give him more resources!”

Cough cough. Chief Editor Zheng coughed and said, “The reason for gathering everyone is because, the total cost used for producing the film was… 100,000 yuan or so, and the duration of the film is ten minutes.”

This time, everyone was dumbfounded. “100,000 yuan? How can that be? How is it possible that the legendary Young Master only spent 100,000 yuan on a film?”

“Exactly, even the tips that he normally gives are also in thousands and tens of thousands, but he only spent 10,000 on this film!?”

“Let me explain.” Then, Wu Youdao who sat at the center position spoke. “To be honest with everyone, this film, we must definitely win it over. Even if it’s just out of respect for Miss Nianwei, we have to take it. The question is, how many resources should we give.”

Pausing for a while, Wu Youdao continued, “Regardless of the quality of this short film, there is a very crucial point—this film is the work of Young Master. Young Master is someone who can think of using 40 luxury cars as lighting and helped Miss Nianwei rise to fame in a single night. I believe that the creativity of this film won’t be bad.

“As everyone knows, there are already three to four video-sharing websites in our country now. If we don’t accept it, because of Young Master’s influence, I definitely believe that another website will be willing to throw in money themselves to buy over the copyright for the film, even if it’s just the right to air it.

“Therefore, even if the viewership rating is low, we must still have it. There are two sides to everything. Regardless of the quality of the film, just the background behind it is worth the effort. If we don’t take it, it will definitely affect the impression Young Master has of our company. Next time, even if he has any good videos, he will not think of us. Also, if another website broadcast his video, and it gets popular, we will be creating a strong rival for ourselves.”

After finishing these words, Wu Youdao took in a deep breath and asked, “What do you guys think?”

“That’s true.” Everyone nodded.

Wu Youdao was indeed worthy of his name, his words really made sense.

None of the people present here dared to offend the current Hong Dali. Even if they didn’t consider his family background, just the fact that he pushed Li Nianwei to fame, coupled with the fact that Li Nianwei was extremely loyal to him, they could not afford to offend him. Once they really offended him, with his carefree character, no one could tell the consequences. But one thing they could be sure was that, if they were enemies, no matter which rival website Li Nianwei supported, it would definitely brood severe consequences for So Cool video-sharing website.

“Director Wu, I suggest that we give them our best resources.” One of the executives said. “Whatever the case, the videos of Miss Nianwei’s concert caused the traffic of our website to rise by an entire 6%. Just for this, we should show them our respect.”

Another executive said, “I agree. This time, regardless of the quality of the film, we should give them our best treatment. Just consider it to be an exchange for their friendship—it will definitely be worth it. My suggestion is also to give our best treatment.”

To this extent, everyone eventually agreed.

Actually, this was how things worked most of the time. Nothing came free—all those seemingly free things came because of one’s strength.

“Then it’s settled, I shall give them a call now.” Director Wu instantly decided.

…

Chenhui Building, 9th floor, Cai Wei Entertainment.

“Hello, this is Zhang Cai here.” Zhang Cai held up her phone, smiled and said, “May I know the result of your company’s discussion?”

“We have decided.” Wu Youdao’s voice came from the other side. “My company has decided to give the best resources and recommendation slots that we have for Young Master’s film. Including the default search, front page recommendation, website links and such.”

Zhang Cai instantly said, “OK. I believe that your company will definitely not be disappointed. I shall send the film over now.”

…

Five minutes later, So Cool Information and Culture Development Private Limited headquarters, inside a small meeting room.

“This… this…” Looking at the laptop’s screen on the desk, everyone was astonished. After a brief moment of silence, everyone burst out in laughter. “This Young Master, I admire him, I really admire him, hahaha!”

“Hahahaha, this film will definitely become popular. If it doesn’t, I shall eat the display screen!”

“I shall eat the meeting room table!”

“I shall eat the entire So Cool building!”

Wu Youdao laughed loudly while slapping the table. “OK, no more rubbish talk. Hahahaha, our decision this time was definitely correct, hahaha. Now, immediately start uploading this film online. I want the normal, hahaha, standard definition and high definition, all three versions to be uploaded. Wait wait, ask the subtitle department to start doing the English subtitle now! I want it to be pushed as much as possible on our website! Put all the other videos aside! I want all the visitors to our website to see Unexpectedly! first thing when they open up our webpage!”
