Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

“Hehe, this little fellow is quite fun, is it a Capricorn?” This little white cat was quite cute, the more Hong Dali looked at it, the more Hong Dali liked it. He laughed and stretched out a finger towards it. “Do you like me?”

This little white Scottish Fold heard Hong Dali’s words and actually stretched out its small claw with a pink pad and lay it on Hong Dali’s finger. Then, it meowed again.

“Hahaha, this is really fun.” As Hong Dali looked around and saw some corn bits not far, probably to feed the animals, he directly gave the cat a name. “From now on, your name is Corn, hehe.”

“Meow~~” The little white cat meowed again, seemingly satisfied.

“Wait here first, OK. I will come back for you after I finished with the tour.” After comforting the little cat, Corn, Hong Dali snapped his fingers and said, “Let’s continue looking around!”

Besides the pet park were the lions and tigers’ park.

One had to say, even though the zoo was almost going bankrupt, Tang Ya still managed it quite well. It was quite clean, and from the looks of their color, the food for those lions and tigers was not bad either.

The tigers and lions were leisurely strolling around in the room covered by a glass panel, not afraid of strangers at all. A tiger even swaggered towards Hong Dali and scratched its back on the platform at the side.

“Haha, Donald Duck. Looks like you are really liked by the animals.” Hong Dali couldn’t help but want to touch its beautiful fur but was stopped by the glass panel. But very quickly after, Hong Dali stared at one direction as if he had discovered a new continent. “A tiger cub! There’s actually a tiger cub here!”

Following his gaze, indeed, there was a small cub about two to three months old in the corner of the room. It was laying on the ground drinking milk. Tang Ya hurriedly said, “I casually gave this tiger cub the name Tigre. It actually had another three brothers, but they were bought by a circus just as they were born. Now there’s only one left, my heart aches so much.”

“What a stupid name, it don’t sound nice at all.” He immodestly changed its name. “I shall give it a name!” He touched his chin, thought for a while, and soon, his eyes lit up. He remembered a funny French movie that he watched in his previous life called “Ruby & Quentin.” One of the male leads was very interesting. He slapped his thigh and decided. “He shall be called Quentin from now on! Brouhaha!”

“What a dumb name…” Tang Muxin covered her face. “Even Tigre sounds better…”

“Hehe, my name is Quentin, and I’m from Montargis, this shall do!” Hong Dali laughed loudly and said, “Next time, I shall bring it out with me and go shopping. Oh my, with Quentin leading the way in front, I can feel how domineering that will be by just thinking about it!”

They walked and talked at the same time. After leaving the tigers and lions park, they reached the bear mountain. A charmingly naive black bear sat at the bottom, foolishly staring at Hong Dali and group. There were also some lazily lying on the ground yawning.

The last interesting place was the monkey mountain. There were at least ten plus monkeys in it running all over the place. One of the most interesting ones had a very long tail. They frequently used their friend’s tail as a swing, causing Tang Muxin to giggle.

The most frightening was the black orangutan. Hong Dali never thought that an orangutan could be so big, it was like a small mountain. When it saw so many people looking at itself, its only reaction was to lazily dig at its nose.

Hong Dali couldn’t help but praise. “Speaking of which, Donald Duck, your animals here are quite complete. It’s really surprising that a private zoo like yours could actually obtain so many animals.”

Donald Duck laughed and said, “Hehe, I just happened to meet with the good times. When this place was just being developed, raising animals was still quite simple. Over these ten plus years, precious animals are getting lesser and lesser. No matter how wonderful they are, it’s hard to adopt them. Coupled with the impact of those state-owned parks and that I’m not willing to let these animals go hungry, I could only find some kind-hearted wealthy person to take over them.”

Tang Ya’s words were very sincere, Hong Dali didn’t doubt his intentions at all—such a big bunch of animals, all of their fur were shining. Just one look, and he knew that their food supplies must be quite good.

After they were done talking, Tang Ya brought Hong Dali and his group back to the conference room. Once they were seated, he continued, “Sigh, speaking of which, I know that it wouldn’t be easy to find someone to take over them. After all, there are too many. It should be fine if there were just a few species, some rich person might be willing to buy them home to look at them when they have nothing to do. But with so many animals here, things are more difficult. They can’t open a zoo and also can’t place them at home. Furthermore, if I only sell the more valuable ones, the remaining would probably die from hunger. After all, few people are willing to let them return to the wild—that would be akin to doing charity. That’s not easy.”

One has to admit, Tang Ya was stating the facts and not trying to lure Hong Dali into buying them first.

This number of animals, 600 plus of them with all kinds of sizes, once the valuable ones were sold, no one would buy the remaining ones. Yet, Tang Ya didn’t have the financial means to continue feeding them. Therefore, he would be only left with two options at that time. One was to release them back to the wild, the other was to wait till they died from hunger.

These animals were used to staying in the zoo, their ability to hunt for food was practically gone. If they were released back to the wild, the result would be that most of them would still die from hunger.

Tang Ya helplessly shook his head. “I’m worried, really worried. Therefore, when I heard that Mr. Chu was following Young Master recently, relying on the fact that I had seen him once before, I could only request of him to help me introduce you to me. I hope that Young Master won’t blame him.”

Chu Zhongqin, who was standing at the side, was slightly embarrassed. “Young Master, this matter, I really didn’t have a choice…”

“Yup, it’s fine. Next time, don’t go roundabouts, just tell me directly if you have something to say.” Hong Dali wasn’t concerned over this matter at all. He only asked, “The question is, these animals, if I buy them, where should I place them? Even if I start building a place now, it will also need time, right?”

“This matter…” Tang Ya thought for a while. This wasn’t a small problem. If there wasn’t a place for them to stay, it was impossible to buy them. It was not like they could just all be placed in a cage, right? In the end, Tang Ya clenched his teeth and said, “I still have about two months of preparation time before I have to start changing the business here. In these two months, if Young Master is OK with it, you can still let them stay here. There are breeders available here, anyway. After two months, your place should probably be ready. Then, we can just directly move them there.”

Lastly, he didn’t forget to add, “If Young Master doesn’t mind, at that time, you can directly bring back the breeders with you. You only need to change the contract a bit. Their pay is 1,200 yuan a month, and you only have to provide for their lunch.”

OK, now even the breeders were also prepared, this saved Hong Dali much trouble. He directly said, “Then, it’s settled. As for the animals, how much will it cost to buy all of them? You should be aware that a buyer like me is hard to find.”

“I’m aware, I’m aware!” Hearing that Hong Dali had agreed, Tang Ya was delighted. This Young Master was a well-known prodigal, he had never gone back on his words before. He instantly took out a report form, passed it over, and said, “The specific accounts are all here. I have placed the price according to the lowest in the current market. We’re all animal lovers, I definitely won’t take advantage of you, Young Master.”

Hong Dali definitely wouldn’t be willing to read this kind of form. He directly tossed it to Ling Xiaoyi. “Xiaoyi, help me take a look.”

Ling Xiaoyi took over the form and meticulously looked through it. She nodded and said, “Young Master, according to my estimation, the total price should be about 2.7 million. The price he asked for is very reasonable.”

“Then, that’s fine.” Hong Dali directly decided. “I will give you three million yuan. 2.7 million is yours, 0.3 million is for the food expenses for the animals. If the money is not enough, you pay for it first. Then, next time just count everything together.”

Tang Ya hurriedly took out the contract. “OK! Young Master is indeed straightforward! Young Master, you just have to sign here.”

“Can do.” Hong Dali crookedly wrote his name on the contract. Just as he handed it over to Tang Ya, a Ding sound violently sounded in his mind. Hong Dali took a look and was immediately astonished.

[Side Mission 1: The Caring Little Prodigal. Mission Requirement: Help the pitiful small animals. Current Progress: 588/1000. Mission Reward: The title “Animals’ Best Friend.” Title Effect: The host will not be attacked by any big animals as long as the host does not attack them first. Title Level: Junior. Additional explanation: This mission does not have to be completed. Once the System finishes upgrading, it will be erased.]

The previously unknown mission requirement was shown now. As Hong Dali had expected, it was to help pitiful animals.

Of course, this wasn’t the reason for his surprise. The real surprise was that his actions today of squandering over these animals out of this love for them actually brought the progress to 588/1000! More than half! How awesome was that!

Now, both of the Side Missions had been half completed. The other Side Mission, Nature’s Little Prodigal, the Mission Progress was also more than half, at 532/1000.

Hong Dali sighed in his heart. Oh my, when one’s luck comes, it can’t be blocked even if I tried…

But once he thought of this, Hong Dali was totally astonished…

Because he suddenly realized something. The words in the System almost caused him to faint—

Current attribute points from squandering: 36 points. Host’s attributes: Strength: 36. Speed: 95. Reflexes: 92. Health: 100. Sexual capability: 100. The current number of attribute points left before the host reaches maximum stats is 41 points.

What the heck!

I totally forgot about this because I was beside myself with joy!

This means that the System will upgrade if I just squander another 4.1 million!

It isn’t important that the System will upgrade, but if I don’t complete the Side Missions before then, they will be erased! Erased means that they will never appear again! This can’t do, this definitely can’t do!
