After kissing Hong Dali, Tang Muxin’s face turned cherry red. Hong Dali, on the other hand, did not have much of a reaction and continued analyzing, “En, the possibility of this is quite big. Otherwise, if it were any other problem, Uncle Tang would not behave as such.”

“You big fool!” This time, Tang Muxin redness was caused by her anger that took over. She raised her foot and slammed it on Hong Dali’s foot. “You should just continue to be a bachelor for the rest of your life!” He’s just too mean. After getting a free kiss from me, he didn’t even show any reaction. No matter good or bad, he should at least give a reaction! Do you really just know how to squander?! Why was I so impulsive just now, kissing this blockhead? But if I remember correctly, according to news spreading around the campus, Hong Dali was also kissed by Sister Blood Consort earlier and did not have any reaction as well…

“Ah! Ah!” Hong Dali hugged his foot and started rubbing it intensely. “Why did you have to step on me!” However, his heart was thinking bitterly about his future. Although my dear Xinxin is my fiance currently, she will leave and divorce me in the future. Why would she kiss me and even be angry that I did not show any reaction? Should I just have continued on and brought her to bed? But that would just cause her to slap me. Looking at each other with deep emotions? If I were to do that, my eyeballs might even drop out. I could only switch the topic of our conversation, why would she be angry with that?! I really can’t understand what women are thinking!

“I will be angered to the death sooner or later by you!” Tang Muxin turned her head while huffing and puffing in anger. After a few seconds, she turned and said, “Okay, okay, let’s not talk about this.” She took out a piece of facial tissue and put it on the table, saying, “This is my father’s company.” And then she proceeded to take out another brand of facial tissue, putting it on the table. “Assume that this is the company of my father’s competitor.”

By now, she had managed to figure everything out. She then continued, “To cause my father to be so frustrated, it must have been because of the development progress, because my father company’s medicine should be selling well. And even if the sales are not as good as that of the competitor’s, it would not have caused my dad to be frustrated to such an extent.” Tang Muxin then pointed towards the facial tissue that represented the competitor. “So, the biggest possibility is that my dad’s company and the competitor’s company are currently developing the same drug, and their progress is of the same pace, or perhaps my dad’s company is slower than the competitor’s. In short,” Tang Muxin decided. “he’s facing a great deal of pressure!”

“En, I think that should roughly be the situation.” Hong Dali nodded his head in agreement and said, “Except for this, I can’t think of anything else that would cause Uncle Tang to be so frustrated. Furthermore, the reason why you and your father came to our house was probably due to this too, right?”

Tang Muxin’s face turned red in embarrassment, and she replied with a voice like that of a mosquito, “Ye… Yes…”

“There is no need to be embarrassed. Our two families are considered friends.” Hong Dali folded his arms and looked at the facial tissue on the table, “A business will always have a reliable and fast source of information. Uncle Tang must know about the progress of the other party’s research. Oh right, Xinxin, when did Uncle Tang start to research this new drug?”

Tang Muxin thought carefully before replying, “It should have started around January last year, and is reaching the one and a half year mark soon.”

Hong Dali pondered and then asked, “When did Uncle Tang start to become frustrated?”

Tang Muxin: “It only started since last month or so.”

“One month…” Hong Dali stroked his chin, “Did he not have any information on the new research carried out by his competitor in the past? If he did, it’s impossible that they just started this past month or so. Am I right?”

“After hearing you say this, it sounds about right.” Tang Muxin carefully recalled the situation in the past and confirmed: “It must be that he had just suddenly discovered that his competitor has started research on the same drug. In the past, I have not heard of my dad mentioning that other companies were researching the same drug, and even at the same pace. Then, just a month ago, my father started to have bad periods of sleep, and soon after, he took me to your home to make you my fiance…” After saying up to here, she carefully continued, “Dali, my father really didn’t want to do this. It was because we had no other paths to take…”

“There is no need to say such things now.” Hong Dali frowned. “What I’m worried about is this. Think about it Xinxin, your Dad’s company has always been doing well, but suddenly, a new competitor just pops up researching the same drug with the same progress. What do you think of it?”

“Suddenly? Same progress?” Tang Muxin mumbled before her eyes lit up brightly. “This shows that the other company has just started on the research, and definitely did not start at the same time as my Dad’s company. So, does this mean that my Dad’s company research findings have been leaked? A corporation spy stole the information? The other party just stole the fruits of our labor?! And thus, this resulted in my dad going to your family to borrow money to speed up the research progress, hoping to finish it before the other company?”

Hong Dali: “That’s definitely it! I can guarantee that this is more or less what happened.”

“Thus, the reason my Dad is so frustrated is that his company’s research progress is unable to become faster than the other company?” Tang Muxin crushed the packet of facial tissue that represented the competitor’s company and fiercely said, “So despicable, they even resort to espionage to steal other people’s research materials!”

“No, I don’t think that’s the reason causing Uncle Tang’s frustration.” Hong Dali slowly shook his head, “Xinxin, let me ask you, what do you think of your Dad’s character?”

“Is there even a need to ask? He has been my role model since I was young, and is definitely a good person! I’m sure of it!” Tang Muxin said resolutely.

“Then think about it. If a person with a good moral character were to launch a new drug, what is the first thing he would do?” Hong Dali asked.

“First thing he would do?” Tang Muxin used her fingers to tap on her reddish-pink lips while thinking. “The first thing he would do should not be to call for a press conference, but to first test it, to ensure that it’s safe to use.”

“That’s right, hehe.” Hong Dali continued, “So if we continue thinking along this path, we can conclude that the reason why Uncle Tang is so frustrated now is that he is scared that the other company will release the drug before his company does. Being a person of good character, Uncle Tang would only release the drug after it’s deemed safe to use. However, his competitor is probably not the same. Being so despicable to the point that they would resort to using a corporate spy, they’re most likely not any good people. Thus, Uncle Tang should be frustrated that they will release the drug when their company is still in the experimental stage.”

Speaking up to here, both of their eyes met, and they voiced together: “The problem is that the corporate spy has not yet been found!”

After a long and hard time of brainstorming together, they finally found the key to the problem.

If the corporate spy was not found, there could only be two results. First, the findings of Uncle Tang company’s drug research would be stolen during the clinical experiment stage, allowing the other company to release it first. Second, would be for Uncle Tang’s company to release it first. However, if there were to be any harmful side effects, the company’s reputation would drop significantly.

This was the reason why Tang Ruisi became so frustrated. As the saying goes, if one were to go forward, there would be a wolf waiting for him. However, if he were to move backward, he would be faced with a tiger. No matter what he chose, there would always be problems, making it a tough decision for him.
