System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1642: Talent

The power coming from both sides had increased drastically.

As expected from the combination of both human and demon, the Supreme Devilʼs power looked even more overwhelming than Annaʼs.

However, due to his rationality diminishing, the Supreme Devil was the first one to come.

He swung his blade with all he had.

Anna, on the other hand, placed her right foot in front and swung the sword with both hands. ”Everchanging Sword Style, Violent Asura!”

Her anger had increased. Thanks to the True Spirit Body, she could draw out even more power, changing the sword strike itself.

But as expected, since she didnʼt use her lightning, she was the one being pushed back.

The Supreme Devil didnʼt intend to end it like before. So, he maintained a close distance to avoid Anna using her lightning again.

Unfortunately for him, the original Anna had never looked at Anna. She always looked at her opponent.

That was why the original Anna would be the first one to react.

”Lightning Explosion.” A spark appeared in front of her and expanded in all directions.

This lightning burst didnʼt create a lightning field like before. Instead, it discharged everything in order to destroy everything in its path.

The ground shattered upon impact, the demons were crushed when hit, and even the Supreme Devil got knocked away.

The Supreme Devil gritted his teeth. Even though he had activated his berserk, he still maintained a portion of his consciousness. His state was similar to that of Laufey, who was fighting back the control of the demon when he became a demonic human.

That was why he could still analyze the battle. ʼWhat is going on? That violent lightning should be harming her own body as well. Is she crazy? But…ʼ

The Supreme Devil was confused because Annaʼs lightning didnʼt harm her at all. Even he couldnʼt be careless against that lightning.

Anna, on top of using her sword, could actually control that lightning to perfection at the same time.

The Supreme Devil couldnʼt help but remember a few people, including Alexander Ardagan.

Talent. The thing that differentiated him and the others. Even when he wanted to become a spirit king, he couldnʼt become one because he lacked talent.

”Aaahhhh!” The Supreme Devil roared as he charged forward again.

Anna received the blow even though she got pushed back. The original Anna could send lightning for the attack.

The Supreme Devil blocked the lightning carefully as he said with so much hatred. ”It must be nice to have talent. You donʼt understand the struggle of the ordinary!”

”…” Anna was flabbergasted. Why would the Supreme Devil say such a thing in this situation?

She hadnʼt done anything special, but she couldnʼt help but admit that whatever she was doing could be misunderstood.

The Supreme Devil didnʼt realize he was fighting two people at the same time.

But it didnʼt mean Anna planned to acknowledge whatever he was saying.

”Heh. Talent.” Anna sneered, looking at him as if she was mocking his sentence. She didnʼt acknowledge her talent because compared to Noel, her talent was not worth mentioning.

She advanced this far because Noel was there to provide any necessary guidance. Even the original Anna would be helping her.

The reason she came this far was certainly because of them.

Noel, on the other hand, was different. He was the pioneer in their generation.

The one who found the king path was him. The one who found the transcendent path was him.

Every time he was in danger, Noel would overcome the challenge by surpassing his own limits.

Whenever there was an opportunity, he would treat it as a way to grow stronger.

That was why all this time he could grow much faster after clashing with his enemies.

So, her talent couldnʼt be compared to Noelʼs. At the same time, it didnʼt mean she was planning to lose to him.

Even if she received help from anyone, including him, she wouldnʼt reject it out of pride.

That was why she was able to reach this level. Of course, she acknowledged her own talent. After all, the people recognized her as the person who had the highest absorption rate, not knowing that Noelʼs absorption rate was 100% due to Ardagan.

Nevertheless, it didnʼt change the fact that she was talented enough.

”Is that the reason you betrayed your own master?” Anna sneered. ”Such ridiculous bullshit. To think that your master got betrayed because of a self-conscious son of a bitch.”

Anna didnʼt even bother hiding her contempt. Her words were even worse.

And she definitely got what she wanted. Her words definitely hit his pride, which caused him to lose himself even further.

As long as the berserk state completely destroyed his personality, the Supreme Devil would lose the ability to activate the king path. That was when she would win.

”Haaa!” The Supreme Devil looked like he was about to go insane. It looked like the berserk state had impaired his ability to take insults, which was beneficial for Anna.

Still, the berserk state was drawing everything out of him. The angrier he became, the more power he released.

The Supreme Devil swung his blade one more time, sending forth a sword strike.

Anna also did the same, but her power was incomparable to the Supreme Devil. His sword strike cut hers and continued toward her.

Anna had to use her own sword to stop this, but the power was overwhelming her.

”Kh…” Anna gritted her teeth as blood leaked out of her teeth. The power had messed up her energy.

However, she still managed to neutralize it.

Then, the original Anna would send out the lightning toward him.

The lightning bolt turned into a long snake with its mouth wide open. It was trying to swallow the Supreme Devil.

Surprisingly, the Supreme Devil entered the snake as if he wasnʼt scared of the snakeʼs power.

The lightning was frying his body, but the Supreme Devil actually managed to pierce through the snakeʼs body as his body continued moving toward Anna.

”!!!” Anna hurriedly swung her blade, but the Supreme Devil got the advantage this time, which resulted in him overpowering her. ”Not good!”
