Chapter 1617: Reinforcement

Noel looked at the two demon kings. ”I finally understand why my ancestors would have had a hard time against the two of you.”

”What is this? Are you trying to buy some time?” The Land Demon King sneered.

Noel smiled. ”Buying time might be good, but what can I do in just a few minutes at most? As the one who made such a plan, you should know that I have no cards left to handle this army.”

The two demon kings couldn’t help but agree. It was already surprising enough to get this much trouble against Noel, but they indeed had more than enough to deal with Noel. This way, Noel truly had no more spirit transcendence rank experts to stop this army.

In other words, Noel’s downfall was just around the corner.

The Land Demon King squinted his eyes. ”There is no surrender, Noel Ardagan. Everyone can surrender except for you.”

”I know. What you fear is my blood, right? The blood that has taken down your god.”

”What? You... You know about it?” The demon kings couldn’t believe Noel knew the situation to this extent.

Their Demon God and the Spirit God had clashed. Ultimately, the Spirit God won and slew the Demon God. The remaining demons had been scattered around.

If the Ardagan family’s ancestor, Milinda, was the sister of the Spirit God, Noel, who was her descendant, should also bear that same blood.

That was why anyone could surrender except for him. After all, not only did he have this blood, but he also managed to activate Ardagan, the spirit that the Spirit God artificially created.

Noel said, ”I know more than you think. That’s why I do know your intention here. I know my duty as Noel Ardagan. So, I will cut you down here.”

”Heh. You are just talking to yourself. Even if you are confident, what can you even do here? There are 5 ancient demons and 500,000 other demons ready for you. We will kill you and take over this world.” The Land Demon King laughed.

”It’s such a shame that you won’t be able to do it.” Noel smiled.

”We’ll see whether we can or not.” The Land Demon King raised his hand, preparing to order the demons to march toward Noel and the city behind him.

However, they suddenly felt a powerful presence coming from the north side.

”Ice Memory!” A female voice echoed across the field.

A huge eye-like symbol appeared in the sky. This eye shot out a blue beam that, the moment it touched the ground, sprouted.

Thorn-covered vines emerged from the ground and blasted over a good portion of the demons. A big ice flower formed right after the ability fully manifested.

”!!!” The demon kings couldn’t help but turn around, never expecting anyone to intrude on this battlefield.

Even more so, a spirit transcendence.

When they turned around, they could see who actually did it.

She was a woman with light blue hair. She was once a headache in their plan, but they thought they had removed her from the equation all this time.

So, they never thought this person would come back stronger.

That person was none other than Leysha.

”You...” The Land Demon King, who possessed the third prince’s body, obviously recognized her. After all, the Ardagan family once followed him during the battle of succession.

”Leysha Ezenholm. You haven’t died? Aren’t you supposed to be executed?” The Land Demon King froze. He never thought Noel still hid this kind of card.

Leysha simply smiled. ”I have waited for this opportunity for decades. Today is truly a great day. I’m able to fight with my son.”

”It looks like you’ve come.” Noel smiled.

”Of course, I have to come. With your obvious message, how could I not come?”

The message was rather obvious on Noel’s side.

Before he came here, he arranged for all the spirit transcendences on his side to take on the ancient demons on their own.

If that was the case, how should the hidden card move? The answer was obvious.

Since there were no more ancient demons that could be taken aside from the demons in this place, she had no choice but to go here.

Besides, Leysha had been wanting to reunite and even expressing her own desire to reunite more strongly than Luke.

With such an obvious ploy, there was no reason for Leysha not to accept it.

That was why she came. Noel had taken care of her reputation. All that was left was for her to prove it with her own actions.

”I’m sorry for making you do this, Mom.” Noel gave an apologetic smile.

”Hahaha. I can fight to my heart’s content with my son. Is there anything to complain about? Even if I die here, I will die satisfied.” Leysha answered without hesitation. ”Besides... I’m not here alone.”

She had gone ahead due to the overwhelming presence of the demon kings, but she truly had brought the reinforcement. ”Come forth!”

The cloud of dust in the distance was approaching until they ultimately revealed themselves.

It was an army whose size couldn’t be underestimated.

”I have brought with me an army of 200,000 people. Let’s start the party, shall we?”

Even Noel didn’t expect this number. He thought it would be just a few tens of thousands, considering he built up a mercenary army.

But the total number was actually this high. Although they were still lacking compared to the number of demons, there were still soldiers from the fortress as well as the runes on the city to help them.

That was why Noel might be able to overcome this gap with his technology.

”Attack them!” The Land Demon King ordered the demons out loud.

The ancient demon flower in his hand controlled the demons. After learning from multiple battlefields, the demon flowers knew how to split up their forces.

The flower sent 300,000 demons toward the mercenary along with two ancient demons, while the rest would be sent directly to Noel.

This amount wasn’t for destroying the city. Instead, it was to isolate Noel. Noel had to pick between saving the city or his mother.

However, no one would have predicted, including Noel, that there would be another surprise coming.
