Chapter 1638: King Path

As Vivi said, the moment the soldiers changed their movements and started suppressing the side, the demons were forced to send a bit more to the side to maintain their presence there.

This would create a very narrow gap between Incetta and the spider.

In the end, the demon might have had some knowledge about warfare, but it didn’t have everything, including experience.

Vivi was a commandant under a man who was known as the greatest general under the heaven, Alexander Ardagan.

Her knowledge and experience as a commander far surpassed the demon’s or even Incetta’s.

That was why the gap could be created easily.

The moment she saw the path, Incetta closed the distance between her and the spider in two leaps.

The demons didn’t have the chance to stop her.

Incetta raised her sword as her spiritual energy was gathering at the tip of her sword.

The spider raised both front legs and stabbed her.

Incetta stomped the ground, gathering more power from her lower body. Then, she swung her blade toward the two legs. The water started overflowing from her sword, creating a wave that acted like a wall.

However, the two legs pierced through that wall and hit her.

Incetta was forced to block it with the blade. The ground underneath her cracked.

’Combining my sword and spear... How do I even do that?’ Incetta muttered inwardly. She could wield the sword in her hand. Seeing the sharp spider legs, she saw them as two spears almost impaling her.

This was a clash between a sword and a spear. But what she wanted was their union.

’A sword is a tool that has two functions. To slash and to stab. However, its main function is to slash.

’On the other hand, a spear is a weapon to stab. It can be used to slash, but it won’t be as effective...’

Incetta suddenly fell silent. When she described it that way, it looked like Noel’s fire and ice.

The fire could burn as it had a high temperature. Meanwhile, the ice could freeze due to its low temperature.

However, they had one similarity. It was the temperature. As long as Noel controlled the temperature, the fire could freeze or the ice could burn.

On the other hand, her spear and her sword could stab and slash, but they each had their own specialty.

It might not be completely similar to Noel’s case, but it was indeed related.

’Is this why Master wants me to learn from Lord Noel instead of her?’ Incetta gasped.

She took Anna as her master because Noel never took her as a disciple. She was not wrong in her decision, but it might not be as effective. Then again, if she couldn’t become Noel’s disciple, she wouldn’t get this little boost she received from Anna.

All that mattered was the fact that she should learn from Noel.

’That’s right. Master Anna also has the gentle lightning and the violent lightning. They are different. No, they’re in the opposite direction. However, they’re both lightning.

’Both Master and Lord Noel have combined their power to become a spirit king. So, that means if I want to become a spirit king, I also need to combine a spear and a sword?

’No. The path of a spirit king is wide. It can be taken by anyone else. That kind of description can’t be the answer.

’That means the solution is much more fundamental, not only can it be accepted by me, but it can also be applied to anyone else.

’It’s not about the fusion... It has been the opposite this whole time. Before it fuses, both of them come from a source...’

While fighting the spider, she couldn’t help but think about one possibility. It could be described in one word.

’Origin?’ Incetta widened her eyes. ’I shouldn’t look at the fact that they can both slash and stab. I should look at the fact that both of them are weapons!’

*Roar!*

*Roar!*

The demons seemed to have regained their composure and started swarming Incetta from all directions.

In addition, the demon spider slammed both of its front legs to pin her down.

Incetta changed her sword into a spear before swinging it as if she was waving her sword.

Suddenly, the water rose and formed a crescent shape. This time, it didn’t act like a wall. It possessed a similar power to when she used it with her sword.

Still, the ancient demon’s legs managed to pierce through the water and hit the ground.

Incetta leaped into the air. Her spear had changed back to its sword form.

She spun her body and tossed it as if it were a spear.

The sword pierced through one of the legs. The moment it touched the ground, the latter cracked. Water started rushing out of the cracks and flooded the area.

Then, she landed on top of the sword and picked it up by flicking it with her foot.

She saw the spider about to spit poison, so she took a step back and pulled her sword before thrusting it like a spear.

The spider’s poison was clashing with her water energy as the sword dispersed it in all directions.

The demons took advantage of this opportunity to reach her, but Incetta’s sword had turned back to its spear form. She tapped the ground with the back of her spear.

Water splashed in all directions, creating a sharp wave that sliced the incoming demons into pieces.

Every time she moved, her power increased and became even more refined.

Vivi was watching from afar this time. She agreed about one thing. Even Alexander had told her about it before. If one wants to become a spirit king, no one should assist them.

That was why she chose to just watch from afar.

”A king is a path of a sovereign. One can’t become a sovereign if one has someone else next to or in front of them.

”If you want to become a king, you have to forsake everything and walk by yourself. I am your last wall for you to become a king, Incetta.

”Congratulations, you don’t need me anymore. My descendant has finally surpassed me.”

Incetta stomped the ground. The water splashed. Some splashes were so sharp as if they were made of spears, piercing the demons. Some were like a wave that sliced anything in its path.

The King Path had been formed.
