Chapter 1634: Headband

”Huu...” Rui squinted her eyes. The time to turn the situation around had finally arrived.

”Still, this doesn’t look like the Master’s plan.” Rui muttered. ”It’s too superficial. Then again, if the demon kings have shown up, Master will have to be there to face them. I guess that means Rose and Elaine? No, their schemes are not that complicated. Even if they can come up with this, they will have a trace of the Master’s idea.

”After all, they are learning from Master. In that case, do they bring another person in? Whoever it is, that person is capable. And I guess Rose and Elaine wouldn’t put someone who couldn’t be trusted in that position. At least, Elaine...”

Rui knew Rose and Elaine’s capabilities. Rose had studied a lot under Noel as his secretary. She was the first person who would usually know about any move Noel made.

On the other hand, Elaine had an unmatched vision. She was able to rise through the ranks and even dissolve the hatred that was originally there between the Lesen family and the Ardagan family.

She wasn’t going to let anyone take advantage of the positions they had been given.

Rui muttered, ”I guess I should start fighting for real...”

The last step of the plan was actually the order to activate the True Spirit Body.

”As the battle has reached its last phase, we can activate the True Spirit Body and take down the ancient demon. However, there’s no guarantee whether we can kill them or not. All that depends on our own skill.

”In that case, there is only one more thing that I have to worry about. Once I’m out, I have to ensure that the people are still strong enough to resist the enemy.”

Rui’s expression turned solemn. If Noel had been the one at the helm, he probably would have calculated it as well and arranged for the reinforcements. Most likely, it would come from the nobles in the central regions.

”...” Rui sighed. There was no use in worrying about it. The reinforcements could come, but at least they had to remain here to ensure that the enemies didn’t cause any more damage.

Rui had come to this land because she wanted to leave the clan so that her brother could become the next clan leader.

Ever since coming to the Ardagan family, her vision had changed. There was a much bigger world out there. Being able to return home was good, but she also wanted to become stronger and possibly travel to the country where her ancestors were born. Not the Muivell Kingdom where he settled, but the place that had been taken by the demons.

That was why she chose to become the pillar as well as Noel’s student.

Rui took a deep breath. Her path would be tough, as no one had ever done it before, but just because no one had done it didn’t mean it was impossible.

As if responding to her feelings, Rui suddenly felt a surge of power coming into her body.

”Huh?” Rui was confused. She looked around, wondering what was going on.

She carefully followed the trace of the power and realized it was coming from the headband.

”What’s going on?” Rui muttered.

She couldn’t help but remember what Incetta and Noel once told her.

Incetta explained, ”You haven’t used the power of that headband. I don’t know if you have heard about it or not, but your ancestor should have said something like, ’Only the fated one will be able to get acknowledged by this headband. There’s only one person who will be able to achieve such a thing, and that is... someone who inherits my will.’

”Your ancestor never left this place because he wanted to retire or settle down. He left because he wanted an adventure. But after hearing your story, you should praise the woman who managed to make him fall so hard that he abandoned that adventure.”

She was confused before. After wearing the headband, she did feel a bit stronger, but that was all. She was recognized for her power, but she never relied on the headband itself.

Besides, adventure? She never put any thoughts into it. But now that she had seen the world, her perspective had changed.

At that time, Noel said,

However, Noel actually said, ”That headband is a divine item. There are five divine items in this world, and that headband is one of them.

”Your ancestor was able to activate it in the past. Once you are able to do it, the path to becoming a spirit king might not be impossible.”

Rui couldn’t help but widen her eyes. ”Is this...”

The surging power was powerful enough that it increased her power by at least 30%. In addition, her energy seemed to have been restored.

”Don’t tell me...” Rui gulped down. She was surprised, but this might be an acknowledgement from the divine item.

And for this first acknowledgment, she thought about celebrating it first. The only way to celebrate was to win this war.

To do that, she had to kill this ancient demon in front of her. No, she had to annihilate the entire demon army.

”A test...” Rui’s expression turned serious. ”Understood. Then, I shall go. True Spirit Body!”

...

Still, Rui’s worry was valid. Even if they could use the True Spirit Body, the demons still had numbers. They could exhaust the people, and the latter would end up getting massacred once it was done.

And that was why the reinforcements were necessary. But there was no need for other people to worry about the reinforcements.

After all, Luke and Noel had understood the necessity of reinforcements. Noel had prepared it. Rose should be the one holding the trigger, but since Luke had come, Luke was the one pulling the trigger.

”Don’t be too slow. We are the last batch of reinforcements!” Kevin Stargaze shouted as he ordered the people to enter the train.

That was right. Noel had prepared for the reinforcements with the queen herself. They came from noble families, with the arbiters taking the lead.
