ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

December 15th. It’s the start date of Shangri-La Frontier’s first major Player Versus Player event, “Kingdom Mayhem.”

A Player Versus Player struggle centered around the Players sided with one of the two possible sides of the conflict represented by the kings, the purpose of which is to decide the legitimate ruler of the kingdom of Einvrus. Now, if the world of Shangri-La Frontier was a world with real scale rather than an in-game scale, the battle might have lasted for decades. But since this is a game, there is no way that the battle for kingship is going to be set to last for so long.

「No, seriously, no matter how many times I get to experience it, the tension is always getting the best of me. There is nothing better than to see weeks or months of careful planning finally coming to fruition.」

「Yeah, I actually couldn’t agree more.」

A group of people with a certain person as their “head” gathered in front of the main gate of the Grand Duke of Thirdrema’s Castle, which governs the city of Thirdrema, located in the Kingdom of Einvrus. This group was called the “Wolfgang” Guild, and they were accompanied by the Red Pencil Agency…… RPA for short.

「I’ve been watching the live stream of PayaGaru-chan, and it managed to amass over fifty thousand viewers.」

「So they have so many followers, huh……?」

「Non,non, non, Rei-chan, it’s not like that. It’s the other way around.」

「Actually, the “0” is read as “Zero”.」

「……… Watching the video stream and logging into ShanFro…… those things are not synonymous.」

「That’s right! And here, a reward! Let’s give our dear Rust-chan a head-pat for answering correctly!」

「…… You don’t have to give me anything, you know?」

This “Kingdom Mayhem” is a huge camp-game in a nutshell. The pieces are the Players, and the game board for the competing teams is of the non-standard scale of this whole nation itself.

And this battle is not just a mere collision between the people of the opposing factions.

「What is it like over there?」

「Well, I don’t think they are going to control the whole area over there either. I think it’s about collaborating with the Players who just follow their regular streams……」

However, Pencilgton closes the email window from outside of the game with a bad smile on her lips.

「Well, information is flowing in real time, but there is an information gathering team dedicated for that exact job.」

「Pencil Dynasty is seriously scary……」

Ever since their gathering here, Katsu has been asked over and over again for handshakes from the RPA members, to which he was replying with “Sorry, but not now” over and over again while smiling apologetically. He was a little bit overwhelmed by the actions of the RPAs who devote themselves to the sole purpose of “winning” here.

「But seriously, Katsu-kun, are you that bad with people or what?」

「Say what you want, but I…… I’m always a very honest person. That’s all.」

「Yeah, that’s what you say……」

Now then, Pencilgton carrying a golden spear on her shoulder is looking west of Thirdrema …… Looking in the direction of the enemy’s headquarters. Right there, the enemy general, King Alex, lies in wait, although he can’t be seen from here.

「It’s a bad thing to wage war at four to six ratio, so it’s better not to waste too much of our resources if we can help it. Everyone thinks so too, right?」

「…… But isn’t quality always better than quantity? Especially when it comes to human resources?」

「That’s right, Rust-chan! In that case, even if you have one thing of utmost quality, it will be far better than one hundred of those things of average quality.」

「Like the blue blood being better than red blood?」

「Umm…… Akitsu Akane, -san?. That’s what the old aristocracy used to say about itself. That they have “blue blood”. And it’s not all that great of an example……」

「Oh? Is that so……?」

The victory or defeat of this “Kingdom Mayhem” is determined by the number of cities occupied by one’s own camp, and it must be larger than the opponent’s territory. Or the new king Alex, who is the general of the new king faction is killed, which results in the wind for the Old King faction. Or the former king Torvante and princess Afilia are captured or killed, which results in the win for the new king faction.

Considering the size and strength of the cities around the map, it is better for the old king faction to take advantage of having two generals and aim to capture the enemy general.

That’s why RPA, who has an extremely strong passion for the abduction of important people, and the other members of the “Wolfgang” Guild gathered together.

There is no pause button in ShangriLa Frontier. Therefore, time does not stop and keeps going. The opening time of the approaching “Kingdom Mayhem” event. Arthur Pencilgton, who has risen to the position of Special Advisor of Thirdrema, and her friends, as well as the Players who have decided to side with the former King Torvante, wait for that opening moment with ever rising tension.

「……Hmm?」

「What’s that?」

─── Who was the first to notice?

The start time of the event is 6:00 pm. In the ShanFro world, where the sun is rising from the East, just like the Earth, and sets to the West, the sun is already about to set most of its appearance behind the western horizon. But what the people in Thirdrema saw at that time was something not quite like that.

「Somehow, it feels like the sun is actually rising……?」

December 15th. It’s the starting date of Shangri-La Frontier’s first major PvP event, “Kingdom Mayhem.”

「Why, hello there! Today is going to be a little bit different from the usual behavior of Garnose!」

「Hello there, my name is Garnose! And for today I’m going to try some solo activity!」

Two men are standing in front of a huge castle gate that seems to show the authority of the royal capital, Ninthhill, the capital city of the kingdom of Einvrus. And a large number of Players gathered here just so that they could see those two. They were loud and noisy, but although it took some time with the intentional “quiet” gesture from Payabusa, the tranquility started to spread around before long.

「Now then, everyone The time has finally come…… It’s time for ShanFro’s first ever Player Versus Player event! The “Kingdom Mayhem ” is about to begin! !!」

WAAAHHH, a loud cheer goes up. And it was not only the excitement caused by Payabusa Garnose being here, but also the tension around this place was really high and still rising because of the first ever Player Versus Player event in the game of Shangri-La Frontier.

「Here’s our strategy! As a result of close discussions with other members……… We have decided that the best strategy here is going to be doing whatever you guys feel like doing on the spot!」

「…… That’s mostly because synchronizing the schedules of so many people is something that is impossible to do, but…… Oh well.」

The gathered Players smile at the funny joke made by Payabusa. Not everyone who gathered here was following Payabusa from the very beginning. Some follow other streamers who have formed a coalition with them, while others simply belong to the same camp and move about as they please.

And Payabusa and others do not stop them from doing do. The New King camp must take advantage of the camp-like structure of the event, and accommodate both veterans and newbies alike. What they need the most here is a great number of active Players if they wish to protect the new king and go out and conquer the enemy territories. The more it is, the better, even if it is a crowd of people who do not follow the instructions, it can be expected to serve as a meat wall to some extent if just the right number of people is accumulated.

「Let’s go forward without any details, Gulnose! After all, as long as you enjoy yourself, it’s as if you have already won! Isn’t that right, everyone!?」

To tell the truth, it’s was not as unplanned as the audience gathered here thinks…… But…… there’s no need to bother yourself with explaining it to everyone, and besides, Payabusa is a streamer. So no matter what happens, he continues to speak with a smile on his face.

「From here on out, we have five days! Let’s do our best! Let’s win! Everyone!」

It was at that time.

「Hmm? Do my eyes deceive me? Or is someone coming here?」

「Hm? Isn’t that just some Player who got late to the party?」

─── Who was the first to notice?

The start time of the event is at 6:00 pm. With the dim lights as their background, about thirty shadows were approaching the main gate of the city. And those shadows were all in the shapes of people. However, even though they looked like people, they were actually not people at all……Only human-like.

「…… Aren’t those people way too green?」

◇ R ◇

18:00 pm on December 15th. It was the start of the “Kingdom Mayhem” Event, and the beginning of the all-out wae between the Players.

However, at the same time…… the very moment their battle was about to begin.

「Vooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmm …… !!!」

There was a pool of bright red color slowly rising from the ground from the bottom of the dying volcano. A butterfly-like flame with wings that spreads to the extent that they could easily wrap themselves around a single-family home, and then what emerges there…… is “eyes”.

Thirdrema is in front of the creature, and the line of sight floating on its wings of the flame is shaking enthusiastically…… Like, it was literally shaking……

Flames and light dwell in the eyes floating on the wings, increasing and converging with every moment. And the moment when the wings bent under the pressure of the energy, its wings started to flutter greatly.

「Kyuriririririririririririririririririririririri !!!!!!」

And then a scorching ray of a laser traveled towards Thirdrema and hit it directly.

* G *

「Kyo, Kyokyokyokyokyokyo!!!!!!!!!」

It was laughing. JUst like the pale, terrifying Plague Horse that once appeared near Thirdrema, it laughed at the joy of spreading death around. The eerily green, odd-shaped peacock was laughing.

My whole body was eaten up by its cells…… I was laughing at the sight of myself “dying” and being reborn once more.

Their destination is Ninthhill. The green army slowly but surely moves forward, increasing its numbers with every moment.

「Kyokyokyokyakyakyakyakyakyakyakyakya!!!!!!」

Humans and beasts are mixed together, and their total number is twenty thousand and one hundred fifty three…….

「It’s a “Monster Raid” time!!!」
