The Fantastic Little Farmer

Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Greasy Body Technique

With their recent Experience, neither of them needed to ask any more questions. Over the past two days alone, wave after wave of assassins had been sent to force Mingruo’s hand. Even the attempts to ”invite” her had come in endless waves. Ouyang Qilin’s style was all about adding layers of insurance—he was even willing to plant explosives in the villa. It was highly likely that there was more than one assassin lying in wait here to monitor Mingruo!

Moments ago, Little Moustache had knocked on the door pretending to be the downstairs neighbor. He had just left, and without either of them calling for security, a security guard suddenly came to ring the doorbell. Wasn’t it obvious enough?

Ouyang Mingruo nodded and proactively retreated deeper into the room. She had grown used to it. She left Zhang Yun enough room to operate, avoiding being a burden. Furthermore, the gruesome nature of the previous encounter made her feel it was best not to watch closely.

”Dear resident, did someone come to harass you just now?” The security guard was a young man with a very friendly attitude. When the door opened to reveal Zhang Yun, he didn’t look surprised at all, acting exactly like an ordinary security guard.

”Come in and tell me.” Zhang Yun generously invited him in.

If one came, he’d take out one. If two came, he’d take out the pair! This was clearly a setup! The guard hesitated for a brief second but stepped inside anyway.

As Zhang Yun closed the door, he immediately lunged a hand toward the guard’s throat! The guard’s reaction was lightning-fast. He swiftly swatted Zhang Yun’s arm away while sprinting further into the room!

His target was Ouyang Mingruo. How could Zhang Yun not know? He had anticipated this and stuck his foot out to trip him!

The guard stumbled, but his stance was solid. Instead of falling, he took the opportunity to duck low and dart forward, his sharp gaze searching for Ouyang Mingruo.

Ouyang Mingruo, who had retreated inside, was startled to see him suddenly dart past. He was much more agile and flexible than the Little Moustache assassin from before! But she didn’t panic, because Zhang Yun was right behind him!

Zhang Yun was slightly surprised that his trip had failed, but he immediately chased after him at top speed. Just as the guard was about to reach Ouyang Mingruo, Zhang Yun clamped a hand down on his back.

”Miss Mingruo, are you alright?” the guard asked rapidly. At the same time, he quickly dropped to the ground, instantly neutralizing Zhang Yun’s grip. Before Zhang Yun could press him down further, the guard pushed off the floor with his hands, swung his legs up, and kicked out at Zhang Yun’s legs!

Zhang Yun’s interest was piqued. He hadn’t expected this guard to be so nimble! Ordinary Thugs and assassins relied on dirty tricks, whereas people like Xu Jin practiced genuine combat techniques. However, this guard’s style was different from Xu Jin’s Sanda techniques. Zhang Yun couldn’t pinpoint the exact school of Martial Arts, but it felt exceptionally slippery.

Zhang Yun wasn’t a formally trained fighter. His history of practicing Martial Arts spanned a mere few days. He had mostly learned on the fly during his spar with Xu Jin’s trio by the Shantang. Since then, the hooligans, Thugs, and assassins he encountered had only been slightly stronger than ordinary people, relying on blades and firearms—or Weapons. Just like the previous assassin, they were easily crushed by him.

But this guy possessed genuine Martial Arts. Zhang Yun immediately decided to spar with him to secretly learn a few moves. As a result, instead of rushing to overpower and eliminate his opponent, Zhang Yun simply accelerated his attacks!

Ouyang Mingruo cried out, ”Time out! Who exactly are you?” She had noticed something peculiar. Although the guard had rushed over rapidly, he hadn’t drawn a blade or attacked her. Instead, he asked if she was okay and addressed her as ”Miss Mingruo” in a clearly respectful tone.

Outsiders usually called her Miss Ouyang; only people from the Ouyang Family would use the title ”Miss Mingruo.” This wasn’t meant to be a nickname or a sign of intimacy. Rather, the Ouyang Clan had many direct descendants in its core branch, and this was the only way to distinguish them. Similarly, Ouyang Qilin was called Second Master instead of Mr. Ouyang to differentiate him from Ouyang Kunpeng.

She had only just begun to suspect his identity. By the time she voiced her question, Zhang Yun and the guard had already exchanged numerous blows.

Zhang Yun’s advantage lay in his stronger foundational abilities and faster striking speed. The guard, on the other hand, had the edge in technique; he could react naturally and instinctively without needing to think. From Ouyang Mingruo’s perspective as a bystander, it looked like Zhang Yun was trying to catch a loach. Right when he seemed to have him in his grasp, the guard would slip away the next instant.

Yet Zhang Yun’s speed was overwhelming. Whenever the guard attempted to counterattack, he was forced back on the defensive before he could succeed.

”Stop!” Ouyang Mingruo shouted again.

But the two men were locked in combat and couldn’t just stop now. Zhang Yun wanted to learn his ingenious techniques, so naturally, he pressed him relentlessly, hoping to force the guy to display all his skills and Experience.

Meanwhile, the guard was inwardly groaning. He appeared highly adaptable, but the truth was, he had no choice but to keep shifting. If he paused for even a fraction of a second, his opponent would catch him dead to rights! Although they had been fighting for a while without a direct, head-on clash, Zhang Yun’s sheer speed and imposing aura were enough to make the guard realize he wasn’t someone to mess with.

”Please stop! I was sent by Mr. Ouyang to protect Miss Mingruo!” The guard managed to squeeze these words out while rapidly dodging.

Hearing this, Ouyang Mingruo breathed a sigh of relief. It aligned with her suspicions. Although she still needed to maintain a degree of skepticism and vigilance, there was no need to continue the fight.

Zhang Yun, however, acted as if he hadn’t heard a thing and continued to relentlessly attack the guard!

”If you keep going, I’m going to fight back!” the guard yelled angrily.

Zhang Yun didn’t stop. By observing throughout the fight, he had already figured out a few things and was now beginning to attempt dodging using his opponent’s methods. His speed was already superior, making it difficult for the guard to land a hit in the first place. Now that he was utilizing this Slippery Body Technique, he appeared even more effortless and composed.

Conversely, the guard felt the pressure mounting. He couldn’t hold back anymore! Earlier, after confirming Miss Mingruo’s safety and realizing this man was her bodyguard, he had treated him as one of their own and measured his strikes accordingly. But to continue hunting him down as an enemy even after he had declared his affiliation meant intentional distrust!

”You don’t believe me?” The guard sneered. ”You can have Miss Mingruo verify it with Mr. Ouyang. We’re both bodyguards here, yet you’re still trying to establish dominance over me?”

Growing increasingly furious and finding that his agility and speed were useless, he let out a loud roar and threw a completely untechnical straight punch directly at Zhang Yun’s chest! The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. A straight punch offered maximum speed and possessed the most ferocious power!

Zhang Yun felt he had grasped enough. Continuing would just mean seeing the same variations repeated, which he could figure out through his own reflection and Experience.

”So what if I am?” Zhang Yun met the punch head-on with one of his own!

A direct, head-to-head clash!

When their fists collided, Zhang Yun felt a sharp jolt of pain spread across his hand. He was slightly surprised that the guard wasn’t knocked backward. It seemed this guard wasn’t just skilled in Body Technique; his physical strength was also formidable.

”Good! Again!” Zhang Yun retracted his fist, preparing for another strike.

”No, wait...” The guard’s raised arm quickly slumped to his side. With a bitter smile, he clutched his fist. ”My entire hand is numb from the shock. You’re amazing...”

Zhang Yun inwardly cursed. So the guy had just been putting on a brave front! Seeing that the guard was in much worse shape than he was, Zhang Yun unceremoniously kicked him, sending him tumbling to the ground.

”You’re still hitting me? We’re on the same side!”
