The Fantastic Little Farmer

Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Headshot

Just as Zhang Yun was about to open his eyes, he heard the driver softly calling out twice, ”Miss Mingruo, Miss Mingruo!”

He instantly went on high alert!

It would have been understandable if he had simply fallen asleep. After all, it was his first time driving long-distance, and he had lost quite a bit of blood. Reaching an environment controlled by Ouyang Mingruo, it was completely normal for him to relax.

But Ouyang Mingruo was fighting a war!

The man she had to deal with tonight, Ouyang Chunqiu, wanted her life. To make matters worse, her father—who was superior to her in every way—favored Ouyang Chunqiu. She had to stay entirely vigilant and constantly strategize to survive.

There was no way she would fall asleep!

Paying closer attention, Zhang Yun immediately noticed that Ouyang Mingruo’s breathing was quite heavy, sounding exactly like someone in a deep slumber. Considering how she had woken up the exact moment he stirred last night, it was obvious she was naturally a very alert person.

Zhang Yun’s mind quickly pieced the puzzle together. If there was a problem with the air in the car, the driver would have been affected too. For only the two passengers to be unconscious, there was only one possibility—the mineral water!

Neither of them had suspected the high-end mineral water stocked in the vehicle, mainly because Ouyang Mingruo had personally called these people here. If they truly wanted to spike the drinks with sleeping pills or poison, they could have easily prepared it in advance.

”She’s out cold,” the driver said, rolling down the window to speak to someone outside.

Uncle Zhong, the leader from earlier, immediately asked in a low voice, ”What about Zhang Yun?”

”He’s sleeping even deeper! He’s injured and lost a lot of blood. We don’t need to worry about him...”

Before the driver could finish, Zhang Yun heard a familiar voice!

”Let me at him! I’m going to kill him! This bastard crushed Mu!”

Zhang Yun instantly recognized it as the woman who had been knocked out in their car earlier!

”Don’t mess around! This kid is just a small fry. You can carve him up however you want later. Right now, take Miss Mingruo inside first!” Uncle Zhong scolded in a hushed tone.

The female driver couldn’t help but interject, ”Weren’t we supposed to kill her earlier? We could have just found a ditch to finish her off. Why bring her back?”

”Shut up! Does Second Master Qilin need to explain his actions to you?” Uncle Zhong reprimanded her harshly before lowering his voice even further. ”The timing has changed. Once the ideal time and place are missed, the plan must adapt. You wouldn’t understand with your limited perspective. Just do as you’re told!”

The two women immediately opened the door and dragged the groggy Ouyang Mingruo out of the vehicle.

Simultaneously, the driver and the man who had just come to receive them pulled Zhang Yun out from the other side.

”Wait a minute...” The female driver handed Ouyang Mingruo off for the other woman to support and immediately rushed over. ”I’m getting revenge for Mu first!”

”Beat him for me!” the other woman immediately chimed in.

”Stop fooling around!” Uncle Zhong warned again.

The two men holding Zhang Yun propped him up, waiting for the woman to strike. Back at the highway service area, she had been the one driving. Failing to brake in time, she had ended up running over the ordinary-looking Mu. She bore part of the responsibility for that, which was why she hated Zhang Yun with such a burning passion!

”I’m going to fucking...”

Instead of throwing a punch, she spun around sharply and unleashed a fierce high kick, aiming straight for Zhang Yun’s face!

BAM!

Zhang Yun lashed out with a kick of his own, moving far faster than the woman! Slipping smoothly under her high kick, his foot aimed straight for her crotch!

”Ahhh—!”

The woman was sent flying. Letting out an agonizing shriek, she hit the ground and rolled around, clutching her crotch in pain.

”What are you doing?!” Uncle Zhong hissed angrily.

Beating up an unconscious man being held up by two people—what could possibly go wrong? Uncle Zhong hadn’t even bothered watching; he just wanted her to get it out of her system quickly so they could get down to business.

But the sudden, piercing scream made his blood boil. When he snapped his head over, his eyes widened in sheer shock!

”Down you go!”

After kicking the woman away, Zhang Yun didn’t wait for his two captors to react. He quickly wrenched his arms forward with explosive force! Yanked by his tremendous strength, the two men were pulled squarely in front of him, slamming fiercely into each other!

While they were dizzy from the impact, Zhang Yun freed his hands, grabbed the backs of their heads, and smashed them together for a second, brutal strike!

In an instant, both men passed out cold.

”Grab him!” Uncle Zhong immediately yelled!

In that brief scuffle, Zhang Yun had taken stock of his surroundings. They seemed to be in a private resort villa, and the vehicles that had ”protected”—or rather, escorted—them back were all parked in the courtyard.

Since the targets were supposed to be unconscious, only these four had approached to grab Zhang Yun and Mingruo, while the rest of the thugs had spread out in a loose perimeter. Now, at the sudden turn of events and Uncle Zhong’s command, they all swiftly swarmed in.

”Be careful!” the other woman holding Mingruo quickly warned. ”He took Mu’s gun!”

Uncle Zhong’s face darkened. They had already reported this fact to him. Since Zhang Yun had been drugged, he hadn’t been in a rush to retrieve the weapon. But by shouting it out loud now, wasn’t she just sparking panic among their own ranks?

As expected, the thugs encircling Zhang Yun immediately tensed up.

”Fuck! I would’ve forgotten if you hadn’t reminded me!” Zhang Yun immediately drew the pistol. The men surrounding him instantly took two steps back, fully prepared to scatter.

The woman wanted to slap herself for speaking up. Desperate, she once again resorted to using Ouyang Mingruo as a hostage!

”Put the gun down! Or I’ll kill her!” Holding Ouyang Mingruo with one hand, she clamped her other hand tightly around Mingruo’s throat.

Zhang Yun completely ignored her. He glanced at the retreating thugs and scoffed, ”Seven of you? I could easily wipe you all out without a gun.”

Aiming the muzzle directly at Uncle Zhong, he walked forward step by step. ”Traitor! Lapdog! Backstabber!”

Uncle Zhong replied in a deep, steady voice, ”Nonsense! I am Second Master Qilin’s man, and my loyalty has always been to him! We are all the Second Master’s people! If Miss Mingruo is his partner, she is the lady we respect. If she is a target he wants eliminated, then she is our enemy!”

”Second Master? Sounds like a second-rate fool, doesn’t he? Last night, I severely injured some other second-rate punk who called himself ’Second Brother’...”

”Insolent! Do not disrespect the Second Master! He is Second Master Qilin of the Ouyang Clan!” Uncle Zhong remained fiercely loyal, immediately shouting in defense of his master.

”I said put the gun down! Do you believe I’ll crush her windpipe?!” the ignored woman roared at Zhang Yun in frustration.

Back at the service area, four of them had attacked directly. As a result, two were injured and two were knocked out. She viewed this as an utter humiliation. And now, even her attempt to threaten him was failing. Zhang Yun was treating her like thin air!

Zhang Yun abruptly shifted his aim, pointing the gun right between her eyes. ”Are you looking to die? Your mangy Second Master wants her alive! Moreover, if you dare disrespect Mingruo, see if I don’t blow your ugly mug off!”

”Put the gun down!”

This time it was Uncle Zhong who spoke. Taking advantage of Zhang Yun shifting his aim toward the woman, he had swiftly drawn his own gun. Tonight was a war. While the others charged the front lines, he had made sure to arm himself as well.

”That is our weapon, drop it! If you dare to move an inch, I’ll blow your ugly mug off first!” Uncle Zhong was extremely frustrated that the situation had devolved to this point.

Zhang Yun merely sneered. ”Is that so? Let’s see whose head gets blown off first!”

As he spoke, he pulled the trigger!

With his current visual acuity, he could aim with absolute precision, and his physical control was incredibly robust. The single shot directly blew the woman’s head apart!

The woman’s eyes remained wide open in death. She never imagined that her hostage threat would actually result in a bullet through her own skull!

Uncle Zhong was completely stunned!

Weren’t they just exchanging empty threats?

Who actually opens fire just like that? Young people these days truly had no sense of fair play...
