The Fantastic Little Farmer

Chapter 121: Chapter 121: I Am the Domineering CEO

Zhang Yun couldn’t sit still when he heard this. If it were just the two of them, he wouldn’t mind how she joked around. It would even be fine in front of Xu Jin and the others, but Chen Hui had her own circle of classmates.

Besides, Chen Hui had proof that he had written love letters to her in the past. Naturally, he couldn’t let her feel embarrassed.

”Don’t speak like you’re my girlfriend,” Zhang Yun said, introducing her to Chen Hui. ”Haha, she’s just a friend of mine.”

”Just a friend?” Ouyang Mingruo had gotten so used to acting cute and clingy with Zhang Yun over the past two days that she almost put on a pitiful face again. However, since there were people around, she quickly smiled. ”I don’t know when I’ll be back next. Aren’t you going to prepare some local specialties for me?”

”Local specialties...” Zhang Yun scratched his head. ”You aren’t lacking rural goods like vegetables and fruits. The ginseng could be considered a local specialty, but it’s too valuable, and I can’t bear to give it away.”

Ouyang Mingruo was speechless. Did he have to be so stingy?

The first batch of ginseng Zhang Yun had transplanted was already comparable to century-old roots. They were genuinely too valuable, and he couldn’t bear to give them away as mere souvenirs.

Chen Hui didn’t know about this and assumed Zhang Yun was intentionally rejecting Ouyang Mingruo to put on a show for her.

Zhang Yun’s eyes suddenly lit up. ”Ah! I’ve got it. I’m a fish farmer. Later, I’ll catch a few fish for you to take back. Everyone gets a share. Chen Hui, you can have some too.”

Ouyang Mingruo rolled her eyes. Was he really going to stuff a bunch of fish into her car?

Chen Hui didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ”No need, it’s too inconvenient. Anyway, if you’re busy, go ahead and do your thing. I’ll head back first. Contact me when you’re free!”

”Alright.” Zhang Yun had to pretend to go into the mountains to fetch the ginseng that afternoon, so he truly didn’t have time to chat. ”Did you buy anything? Should I give you some pork in return...”

Ouyang Mingruo, who had been speechless this whole time, couldn’t hold back anymore and burst into laughter.

”Dude! What era are you from? You’re returning a gift with pork? Do you think it looks right for such a pretty girl to lug a chunk of raw pork home? Are you going to give me some pork too?”

Chen Hui nodded in agreement. It was indeed quite bizarre. It sounded like something from their parents’ youth, when everyone was generally poor and reluctant to buy meat. Back then, they only bought meat during holidays or when guests visited. At that time, bringing a couple of pounds of pork when visiting relatives was considered a face-saving gesture. It served as a dish so the host wouldn’t have to go out and buy meat. In return, the hosting family would often give back half of the pork along with some of their own goods.

It had sounded like a novelty when they heard these stories as kids. Now that Zhang Yun was actually offering her pork, it felt incredibly awkward.

Zhang Yun simply smiled and shook his head. ”You’re overthinking it. You came empty-handed and didn’t buy anything, yet you still want me to give you pork?”

Ouyang Mingruo found it both infuriating and amusing. ”Fine! Next time I come to your house, I’ll get you a whole pig, alright?”

”Don’t make promises you can’t keep. I won’t hold back. Pork isn’t cheap these days.”

...

Xu Jin and the others exchanged bewildered glances. Weren’t you supposed to maintain a good image when picking up girls? Maintain some class? Their master’s behavior was neither generous nor refined. Talking about things being too expensive to give away, bringing up pork... Why would such an outstanding girl still take the initiative with him? Could it be that extreme vulgarity was the new elegance? Did modern girls consider this humorous?

A master was truly a master! Not only were his Martial Arts miraculous, but his skills with women were equally astounding!

Chen Hui felt quite awkward being there. Even though Zhang Yun was trying to look out for her, she still felt a tremendous amount of pressure in front of Ouyang Mingruo. More importantly, those disciples seemed quite familiar with Ouyang Mingruo. Chen Hui felt like an intruding stranger disrupting their harmonious atmosphere.

Stepping outside, she saw that Ma Yuming had already placed the clothes into a car—a luxurious Maybach. This put another wave of pressure on Chen Hui. She hadn’t thought much of it when she arrived, but looking at their fashion and aura now, it was clear the older car in the back belonged to the disciples, while this luxury car must belong to Ouyang Mingruo.

Having ridden over on a scooter, Chen Hui felt completely and utterly crushed in comparison. She was also extremely puzzled—why would a girl like this fall for Zhang Yun?

Something wasn’t right. It looked like she had stayed at Zhang Yun’s house, perhaps even in his room, and she was even wearing his clothes! And judging from Zhang Yun’s tone, she was the one taking the initiative?

Chen Hui had previously thought she had long since moved on from Zhang Yun, chalking it up to a lingering childhood obsession, especially after learning the full story over the past few days. But now, she realized she knew far too little about the man he had become over the years.

Just as Zhang Yun returned from seeing Chen Hui off, he noticed that Ouyang Mingruo was no longer in the living room.

Fu Yudie immediately reported, ”Master, Miss Mingruo wants you to go find her in her room.”

”Oh.”

”Hehehe...” Ma Yuming and the others wore expressions of eager spectators waiting for a show.

Fu Yudie, having just been in the shower during the previous events, felt a bit baffled by their reactions.

Zhang Yun glared at them. ”What are you laughing at? Those who haven’t showered, hurry up. You guys are hitting the road soon!”

”Master! Are you sending us ’on our way’ to the afterlife? We’re so scared.”

Originally, they weren’t close enough to dare joke around with Zhang Yun, but they were just piggybacking off Ouyang Mingruo’s previous banter.

Zhang Yun pointed a finger at them in warning, then quickly headed upstairs.

”Is there something else?”

Zhang Yun was a bit confused. She had already changed her clothes, so why did she call him up?

The moment he entered the room, Ouyang Mingruo shut the door and suddenly shoved him, pinning him against the wall.

Zhang Yun’s eyes widened. What kind of game was this?

SMACK! Ouyang Mingruo slammed one hand against the wall right next to his head.

”Man, you have successfully caught my attention!”

”Huh?” Zhang Yun’s mind was in turmoil. It was one thing for her to wall-slam him, but did she have to recite domineering CEO lines too?

”You tormenting little tease... If you were deliberately trying to provoke me, let me tell you, you’ve succeeded!”

”Hold on a second!” Dark lines formed on Zhang Yun’s forehead. ”Girl, what exactly are you doing? Cosplaying a domineering CEO?”

Ouyang Mingruo used her other hand to press against his head, leaning in closer. ”I am a domineering CEO! CEOs aren’t exclusively men!”

Zhang Yun didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ”You’re a bit late for that. Back at the fish pond, you should have hugged me and declared to the world that this fish pond had been contracted by you.”

Ouyang Mingruo slid her hand down and pinched his chin, a faint, ambiguous smile on her lips. ”Do you like that Chen Hui?”

”She’s just a former classmate. She’s pretty and was a top student. It’s perfectly normal to have had a crush on someone like that back in school, right?”

”And you also like the pretty widow. You’re quite the romantic, aren’t you!”

”Don’t talk nonsense...” Zhang Yun panicked a little. He had forgotten to close those damn curtains again!

He wondered if the angle of the doorway was visible from Xiuxun’s house. Would it seem too deliberate if he went over to close the curtains now?

”And you like me... Don’t deny it! It couldn’t just be my feet that you like, right? You foot fetishist?”

Zhang Yun raised an eyebrow. ”I used to think I was all about faces and legs. I found it strange that I could like both busty and flat-chested girls. It was only later that I realized I’m actually just a simple man—simply lustful.”
