The Fantastic Little Farmer

Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Can’t Keep Up With Her Leaps of Thought

Zhang Yun didn’t even dare to look over. What if she really came out naked? However, his heartbeat betrayed him by accelerating, and his mind couldn’t help but anticipate a certain scenario.

”Haha, you really found my pajamas to wear.”

Ouyang Mingruo couldn’t help but laugh when she saw Zhang Yun. The originally loose and comfortable pajamas looked like tight-fitting clothes on him. Fortunately, she naturally had long legs; otherwise, the pajama pants probably would have ridden up his crotch.

Zhang Yun peeked over. First, he saw the beautiful legs he had admired last time, and looking further up, he saw the wrapped bath towel. He breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, the situation hadn’t gotten out of hand. But... just the sight before him was enough to give anyone a nosebleed!

They were both using the exact same type of towel. Zhang Yun only needed to wrap his lower half, but Mingruo had to cover both her top and bottom, which left the majority of her long legs exposed.

”Tsk, tsk, peeking at my legs again! And you claim you aren’t a perv!” Ouyang Mingruo approached slightly, a teasing smile on her face.

Smelling her pleasant scent, Zhang Yun was a bit afraid to look closely. He deliberately and exaggeratedly wiped his nose. ”Miss, please don’t do this... Hurry up and put some clothes on. The weather is hot and dry, and I’m afraid I’ll get a nosebleed.”

”Hehe, are you too scared to look at me?” Ouyang Mingruo tilted her head and glanced at him. ”Isn’t it impolite not to look at someone when speaking to them?”

Zhang Yun took a deep breath. Since she was covered up now, there wouldn’t be any overly awkward situations anyway. He immediately righted his gaze. ”If you don’t mind, then I’ll look openly and honestly!”

When he hadn’t dared to look, Mingruo had wanted to tease him, but now that his gaze met hers head-on—especially as his eyes wandered to the areas the towel couldn’t cover—she felt a little shy.

”You’re awful! How can you just stare at the exposed areas like that? That’s also impolite.”

”Understood!” Zhang Yun nodded and shifted his gaze to stare directly at the parts wrapped in the towel.

Ouyang Mingruo instantly blushed. It was as if she had asked for this. His gaze felt fiery and penetrating, causing her heartbeat to quicken a bit. ”You did that on purpose. You’re supposed to look at my face and communicate with your eyes. I give up on you!”

Zhang Yun finally breathed a sigh of relief as he watched her walk toward the coat rack. He had deliberately acted exaggeratedly just now, but the sight had truly been stunning! Although he had seen Xiuxun in the cornfield before, that was just a fleeting glimpse. Now, he was admiring a woman up close in good lighting, which was just as highly stimulating.

Zhang Yun focused his attention on the food in front of him, but as he chewed, he couldn’t taste a thing. His mind was wandering.

After a while, Ouyang Mingruo returned. Although she had changed into a nightgown, it was still quite revealing, and her pale arms and rosy legs continued to sway before his eyes.

”I’m hungry too.”

It seemed Ouyang Mingruo didn’t have to worry about maintaining her image in front of Zhang Yun. With her face freshly washed and completely free of makeup, she dug right into the food.

”Did you go through my underwear?”

She appeared to be eating heartily when she suddenly dropped this question out of nowhere. Caught completely off guard, Zhang Yun nearly choked. ”Cough! Cough! What are you talking about? Am I that kind of person? I’m not, I didn’t, don’t talk nonsense...”

”You really didn’t?” Ouyang Mingruo looked at him with a half-smile. ”While you were showering, I intentionally trapped a strand of hair in my underwear drawer. But when I just went in there, it was gone!”

Zhang Yun’s eyes widened. ”Have a heart! You’re such a beautiful woman, yet you’re as scheming as Zhu Chaoyang. I did open it, but I didn’t rummage through it!”

”Really?” Ouyang Mingruo pressed with a beaming smile. ”Did you take pictures?”

”No!”

”Don’t be mad! I’m just joking, trying to trick you. I didn’t actually leave a hair there... Did you have any fantasies, though?”

Zhang Yun was just about to say the joke wasn’t funny, but he choked on his words again. ”I’m done eating!”

He slammed his chopsticks down heavily. He hadn’t rummaged through her things, and he could say that with absolute righteousness—even if she had security cameras, they wouldn’t prove otherwise. But fantasies... he definitely had those!

”Can’t you take a joke? Don’t be mad. Honestly, the reason I didn’t get clothes out for you and let you find them yourself was to give you full authorization. Even if you really did rummage around, I wouldn’t mind!”

”I didn’t!”

Ouyang Mingruo shrugged. ”Do I have to spell it out for you? I was actually hoping you would touch them!”

Zhang Yun refused to respond to that.

”What? You don’t believe me? I really was creating an opportunity for you!”

”I don’t believe you! I suspect you’ve set up some protection!” Zhang Yun shook his head firmly.

Ouyang Mingruo smacked his arm. ”I don’t have a boyfriend. Why would you suspect I have protection lying around? Are you saying I sleep around?”

Zhang Yun didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ”I meant ’protection’ as in a safeguard or a trap you set up to trick me, so you could laugh at me when I confessed! How did you jump from that to condoms and loose morals? That’s quite a stretch!”

”Then what are we going to do?” Ouyang Mingruo blinked.

”Do about what?” Zhang Yun was baffled, feeling completely unable to keep up with her leaping logic.

”We have no protection. I searched your clothes, and you don’t have any either. We definitely can’t do anything without protection, so you’ll just have to behave yourself tonight, won’t you?”

Dark lines formed on Zhang Yun’s forehead. What in the world was she talking about? He simply threw up his hands in surrender. ”Miss, I yield! Can you please stop taking the conversation into the gutter out of nowhere? If I tell you a dirty joke, it’s because I want to see you look shy and pretend not to understand, not so you can hit back with something even dirtier! I just used the word ’protection’, and you actually...”

Zhang Yun genuinely didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. What kind of personality did this woman have, anyway? She was clearly the aloof, dominant, and intellectual type, yet she would occasionally act incredibly goofy, or even a bit like a hooligan.

”I was just saying. If you didn’t have any dirty thoughts, why are you blushing? Why are you trying so hard to defend yourself?” Ouyang Mingruo covered her mouth and snickered.

”I’m not...”

Ouyang Mingruo continued to casually joke around and tease Zhang Yun. At first, he felt embarrassed and awkward, but he eventually realized she was likely doing this to relieve her own stress and anxiety, so he played along with her performance.

DING DONG!

The sudden ringing of the doorbell startled them both.

”Don’t tell me the sales associates actually rushed over to deliver the clothes?” Mingruo was a bit speechless. Even if she was a VIP client and their service was excellent, they should still know how to read the room. She hadn’t wanted the clothes delivered this quickly.

”I’ll go get the door.” Zhang Yun immediately stood up in excitement. Men’s clothing would definitely fit him better than her pajamas. But he immediately sat back down and said sheepishly, ”You’d better open it. Your electronic door lock seems to be very Advanced.”

Ouyang Mingruo stood up, raising an eyebrow with a smile. ”Are you hinting that I should register your fingerprint? Do you want to come over often?”

”I’m eating!” Zhang Yun lowered his head.

Well... he was actually full, and Ouyang Mingruo had finished eating too, so he started clearing away the takeout containers.

Ouyang Mingruo turned on the video intercom and saw a strange man standing outside. He wasn’t the apartment security guard, nor was he carrying any shopping bags.

”Who is it?” she asked first, without opening the door.

The man outside faced the camera, looking extremely displeased. ”I’m the homeowner from downstairs. Your bathroom is leaking, and it’s leaking right into my apartment! I came to confirm it. Ming Tian, your family will have to contact property management for repairs!”

Ouyang Mingruo frowned slightly. A leak? Logically, that shouldn’t happen. However, the two of them had just taken turns showering, and now someone was at her door. It couldn’t just be a coincidence, could it? Could it be that showering alone normally had no effect, but today, with two people showering back-to-back for a bit longer, it caused a leak?

Ouyang Mingruo grabbed a shawl from the coat rack and wrapped it around her shoulders before pressing the unlock button and opening the door.

The door had barely opened a foot when the man outside suddenly shoved it with tremendous force, throwing it wide open. Then, as Ouyang Mingruo stumbled backward, he swiftly slammed the front door shut!
