The Fantastic Little Farmer

Chapter 145: Chapter 145: I Refuse to Be a Crossdressing Master!

Zhang Yun felt completely refreshed after his shower. The mixed stench of instant noodles, blood, smoke, gunpowder, and sweat had been absolutely foul. He couldn’t believe Ouyang Mingruo hadn’t minded it while snuggling up to him in the car. The shampoo and body wash she used were clearly high-end—their fragrance was fresh and elegant, not at all overpowering.

Wait a minute... After drying off, Zhang Yun stared at the empty bathroom and froze. He shouldn’t have put his laundry basket outside earlier. At the very least, he should have kept his undies to protect his modesty! With no sound coming from Ouyang Mingruo outside, he had no choice but to wrap a towel around himself and step out.

”Mingruo, did it arrive yet...”

”It’s here!” Ouyang Mingruo walked over with a smile. ”They were really fast. It just arrived, and I just opened it. Come see if you like it!”

Zhang Yun let out a sigh of relief. ”I’m sure I’ll like it. I’m the least picky person around.” As long as he had a change of clothes, he wouldn’t feel so awkward.

But soon, his face was filled with confusion. ”Are you kidding me?” he thought.

”You meant... the takeout arrived?”

”Yeah. You haven’t eaten anything, so you must be starving. I ordered it on our way back. See if you like it?” Mingruo pulled him over.

Afraid she might ”accidentally” pull his towel, Zhang Yun quickly clutched it tight. ”I’m not in a hurry to eat. I was asking if the clothes had been delivered.”

”Oh! You meant that. I already called them.” Ouyang Mingruo showed him her phone, displaying a call log to a high-end brand’s sales representative. ”They do have menswear, but they’re already closed for the day. I told them to deliver it first thing on Ming Tian’s morning.”

Zhang Yun offered a bitter smile. ”It doesn’t have to be designer. Anything I can wear is fine. A random sports T-shirt would do.”

”I see. But I don’t have the contact info for those kinds of sales reps...”

Zhang Yun completely believed her. Let alone Mingruo, even regular people wouldn’t have their numbers saved. Only high-margin luxury brands offered that kind of personalized service to VIP clients.

”I’m sorry. I’ll take a cab and go buy some for you right now. It won’t take long, just wait a moment.” Ouyang Mingruo headed for the door as she spoke, but Zhang Yun quickly grabbed her arm.

”Forget it.”

”No way. I promised to buy you clothes. Since they couldn’t deliver it right now as requested, I’ll go find a store that’s still open!”

Zhang Yun chuckled bitterly. ”We still don’t know the fallout from tonight’s events. I wouldn’t feel safe letting you go out alone right now, and I obviously can’t go with you. Let’s just drop it.”

If he went out wrapped only in a towel, someone would film him the moment he stepped downstairs and post it online. Who would believe he was out shopping for clothes? They’d definitely think he was caught in the middle of some illicit affair and making a run for it! He’d become an overnight internet sensation... and end up dragging Ouyang Mingruo’s reputation down with him.

”But... I don’t have any menswear here, and you wouldn’t fit into my blazers. My pajamas are pretty loose, though, so you might be able to wear them. If you don’t mind...” Ouyang Mingruo looked entirely sincere, but Zhang Yun couldn’t shake the feeling she was doing this on purpose.

”I do mind! Wouldn’t that make me a cross-dresser? Absolutely not!” Zhang Yun decided he was better off sticking with the towel.

PFFT. Ouyang Mingruo burst into laughter. ”Are you really that opposed to it? I’m going to take a shower now. Go check my walk-in closet. You might just find a style you like!”

”No!” Zhang Yun shook his head vigorously.

”Are you kidding? Am I the kind of guy who’s into camisoles and silk dresses?” he thought. ”But what if... what if I actually am interested? What the hell do I do then!”

”Hahaha... I’ll stop teasing you. My pajamas aren’t all dresses; the two-piece sets are pretty gender-neutral. As long as the size fits, you’ll be fine. Or... you could find a pair of sports shorts to use as undies. Otherwise... I’m afraid you might accidentally flash someone.”

”I’ll... think about it.”

Ouyang Mingruo stepped behind him, gently stroking the large red patch on his neck before lightly touching the wound on his back. These were all scars he had suffered for her sake!

”Don’t worry. I know Inner Power and have been channeling it to heal myself. I also took a Divine Pill, so I’m recovering very quickly,” Zhang Yun comforted her, hoping to preempt her from insisting on applying medicine.

Suppressing her emotions, Ouyang Mingruo refrained from thanking him again. Instead, she playfully poked Zhang Yun’s chest muscles with a teasing smile. ”You’ve developed quite nicely!”

Zhang Yun crossed his arms defensively over his chest. ”Aren’t you going to take a shower?”

”Rushing me to the shower? What are you plotting?”

”So we can eat once you’re done!”

Ouyang Mingruo winked at him. ”I’m going then, and I won’t lock the door.”

”...”

Once she disappeared into the bathroom, Zhang Yun looked down at himself. Wearing nothing but a towel really did leave him vulnerable to a wardrobe malfunction. He could be careful while standing or sitting, but what about when he slept? It would slip right off the moment he rolled over! Plus, all his glorious muscles would be on full display...

After a moment’s consideration, he headed to the walk-in closet to see if he could find a suitable pair of pants. Ouyang Mingruo had a massive wardrobe filled with high-end designer pieces and haute couture. Without looking too closely at them, he began searching for pajamas.

However, things quickly turned awkward. Everything hanging on the racks consisted of formal wear and dresses. He didn’t see any pajama bottoms or shorts.

”Heaven be my witness, I’m not intentionally snooping through your drawers,” Zhang Yun muttered to himself as he pulled open a drawer.

Great! The very first one he opened was entirely filled with lingerie. He quickly glanced back at the doorway, terrified that Ouyang Mingruo might be standing there with a smirk, waiting to catch him red-handed.

Thankfully, the doorway was empty. He didn’t pick anything up—and certainly had no intention of doing anything weird—but he still couldn’t help admiring the collection.

”These colors... these styles... I never would have guessed she was into this kind of thing. I wonder what they look like unfolded. I wonder what they look like on her,” he thought. At that thought, his imagination began to run wild, picturing Ouyang Mingruo wearing them. He quickly slammed the drawer shut to stop his mind from wandering any further.

Opening a few more drawers, he eventually found a relatively loose, highly elastic pair of sports shorts. Once he put them on, they clung to him as tightly as a pair of swimming trunks. He then found a gender-neutral pajama set. What was meant to be loose-fitting instantly turned into a skin-tight outfit on his frame.

Checking his reflection in the mirror, Zhang Yun let out a sigh. It looked undeniably bizarre, but it was at least much safer than a towel. Now that he was dressed and felt secure, his mind started getting active again.

”Ouyang Mingruo is taking a shower. They say women take forever to shower, so should I... I won’t do anything, but surely there’s no harm in just admiring her collection a bit more?” he thought.

Staring at the lingerie drawers, his hand began to drift toward them... But he ultimately restrained himself. ”If I’m going to do this, I should do it properly. I shouldn’t act like such a creep. I’m a gentleman, after all!” he thought.

Zhang Yun unpacked the takeout and, without standing on ceremony, started eating.

”Zhang Yun...”

Hearing Ouyang Mingruo call out to him from the bathroom, Zhang Yun replied with a chuckle, ”Stop acting! There are towels in there; you don’t need my help grabbing one.”

If he brought her a towel, what if she deliberately chose not to cover up? Wait a minute! ”If she’s willing to do it on purpose, she could still do it even if she already has a towel in there, couldn’t she? Uh? Did she even bring pajamas with her?” he thought.

Then, the bathroom door opened...
