The Fantastic Little Farmer

Chapter 120: Chapter 120: A Secret Battle Between Women?

Hearing this, Zhang Yun knew his dad was tipping him off. If it were a male classmate, his dad wouldn’t have specifically asked for and emphasized the name. He was essentially telling him, ”A female classmate is here to see you. Get ready!”

Ouyang Mingruo let go of him and smiled. ”I’ll tidy up a bit. You go entertain your guest!”

”What guest am I entertaining...”

”Haha! Just go greet your guest.”

Zhang Yun laughed. ”It’s a female classmate. Aren’t you coming down with me?”

Chen Hui was here to talk about Teacher Cao’s situation, and he didn’t know when she would leave. Ouyang Mingruo would inevitably run into her if she went downstairs after hearing them talk. It was better to be upfront about it so she wouldn’t accuse him of hiding it on purpose.

”A female classmate? Then hurry down. Don’t keep her waiting!” Ouyang Mingruo seemed completely unfazed and immediately pushed him out the door.

Zhang Yun felt slightly disappointed. He wondered, ”Does she really feel nothing at all? Well, if she actually acted jealous, I wouldn’t believe it anyway.” He straightened his clothes and quickly went downstairs.

”Hello!” Chen Hui was already waiting in the living room. Seeing him come down, she immediately waved her hand, a hint of awkward shyness in her eyes. That night at Rich Hotel, they had only briefly met with everyone. It was during their video chat the next day that they had a more in-depth conversation.

Zhang Yun smiled and greeted her. ”How did you find this place?”

Chen Hui quickly relaxed and acted more natural. ”I found Yang Bo and the others, scolded them, and asked for your exact home address.”

”I can’t be bothered with them. Did you ask about Teacher Cao’s situation?” Zhang Yun was quite concerned about this matter.

Chen Hui nodded. ”I asked around, but I haven’t gone over there yet. I just came to ask if you have time...”

”I’m not free today,” Zhang Yun said, shaking his head directly.

”I can tell.” When Chen Hui first arrived and saw two cars parked outside with several people around, she knew he was busy. ”Are they...” When she came in, some of them were showering, while others were eating. They only politely greeted her before ignoring her, making it impossible for her to figure out their identities. After calling Zhang Yun downstairs, Zhang Fu had also walked away.

Zhang Yun laughed. ”They haven’t had lunch yet. Just ignore them.”

As Ma Yuming and the others ate, they pricked up their ears to listen. With his girlfriend upstairs and another beautiful female classmate showing up at his door, wouldn’t there be some jealousy later? If they weren’t afraid of being kicked out by their master, they really would have called their future master’s wife down to watch the drama unfold.

”How about we go chat in your room? Let’s not disturb them while they eat.” Chen Hui felt quite awkward, as if those people were treating them like a spectacle.

The eyes of Ma Yuming and the others instantly brightened. They desperately wanted to see the two of them go upstairs. That would be quite a show! However, logic told them to hold back. One was their master, and the other was their master’s girlfriend—who was also their boss. They certainly couldn’t afford to capsize this boat.

”Master, is there any more farm work for us to do?” Unable to think of a better excuse to interrupt, Ma Yuming brought up harvesting the rice. It was currently the rice harvesting season, and there was still grain in the courtyard, making his excuse sound perfectly plausible.

”I’ll ask my dad in a bit.” Zhang Yun hadn’t caught on to his intentions yet. He thought they genuinely wanted to do some work before leaving and felt quite satisfied with his disciples.

”Master?” Chen Hui was slightly surprised. Weren’t they cousins or something?

”Yes. They are all my disciples,” Zhang Yun said with a nod.

Chen Hui widened her eyes in astonishment. ”It’s been so long since we last met. I don’t know anything about your situation anymore.”

”Our master is amazing now. He was busy doing business and collecting antiques all afternoon,” Zhao Ye chimed in, finding another excuse to strongly hint that Zhang Yun was busy so she would leave earlier.

However, Zhang Yun didn’t get the hint. On the contrary, hearing this only made Chen Hui even more curious about him and eager to learn more. ”Are you guys really his disciples? What does he teach you?”

”Well...” Ma Yuming felt a bit awkward. He hadn’t expected her to innocently press the issue, and he didn’t know if his master wanted them to explain.

Zhang Yun smiled. ”They are all experts. I haven’t taught them anything. They’re just giving me face.”

”Experts?” Chen Hui grew even more curious.

Just then, Fu Yudie stepped out of the bathroom. ”Master, where is the hairdryer?”

Chen Hui looked at Fu Yudie in shock, then turned back to Zhang Yun, unable to stop herself from whispering, ”Is she a disciple, too?”

Ma Yuming and the others suddenly didn’t know what to say. They had already been introduced to Ouyang Mingruo, but Chen Hui clearly didn’t believe it. Before Chen Hui could even clash with Ouyang Mingruo, was she going to spark some tension with Fu Yudie first?

”Yes,” Zhang Yun said, pointing at a cabinet. Xu Jin quickly went over to grab the hairdryer to avoid any awkwardness.

Fu Yudie also noticed the extra girl but didn’t think much of it. She took the hairdryer from Xu Jin and headed back into the bathroom.

Chen Hui couldn’t shake the feeling that their relationship wasn’t that simple. Disciples for farming?

”Zhang Yun...”

Ma Yuming and the others were just starting to feel the awkward atmosphere when they heard that voice. They couldn’t help but groan inwardly, ”Here we go!”

Zhang Yun looked over to see Ouyang Mingruo gracefully walking down the stairs from the landing.

Chen Hui’s gaze fixed on her. Zhang Yun had just come down from upstairs, which meant his room was up there. And now, this girl was also coming down from the second floor. She thought, ”This girl is so beautiful and elegant.”

Ouyang Mingruo had already changed clothes with remarkable speed. Her outfit, from its design to its material, was completely unique, making her look even more extraordinary. Folded over her arm were a pair of pants and a T-shirt.

”I’m taking this set of your clothes back with me.”

”Why are you taking that?” Zhang Yun asked, puzzled. They were just ordinary clothes; it wasn’t like she looked magical wearing them.

Ma Yuming and the other two clicked their tongues silently. Women really did go straight for the jugular when competing! Not only had she changed clothes at lightning speed, but she had also deliberately brought down her master’s clothes. This was a clear declaration of their intimate relationship.

”Ma Yuming.” Ouyang Mingruo had already reached the bottom of the stairs.

”Here!” Ma Yuming quickly stood up and rushed to Ouyang Mingruo’s side. He was the shrewdest of the bunch, choosing not to use any title at all right now. Calling her ”Master’s Wife” or ”Future Master’s Wife” would definitely please Miss Ouyang, while calling her ”Boss” or ”Miss Ouyang” would annoy her. But who knew what was going through their master’s head? If he still cared about this female classmate, wouldn’t addressing Ouyang Mingruo that way upset him?

”Put these in the car for me. Just in the cabin is fine; no need for the trunk.”

”Understood!” Ma Yuming respectfully took the clothes with both hands, grabbed the car keys, and headed out.

Ouyang Mingruo smiled faintly at Chen Hui. ”And this is...”

Chen Hui had initially been stunned by her beauty and elegance, and now she was equally shocked by Ma Yuming’s attitude. Why was Zhang Yun’s disciple so obedient to this beautiful woman? At this moment, she quickly introduced herself. ”My name is Chen Hui. I am... Zhang Yun’s high school classmate.”

Ouyang Mingruo had already walked up to her and extended a hand for a handshake. ”I’m Ouyang Mingruo. Come visit more often in the future; Zhang Yun doesn’t have many friends.”

Xu Jin and Zhao Ye didn’t dare say a word! Was this the omnipresent secret warfare between women? Miss Ouyang’s words made her sound exactly like the lady of the house!
