Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

”Yes, I will strive with my entire being!”

Sharlu nodded with satisfaction and said, ”Hmm, very good, very good. You two, follow Commander Zhang’s orders for the city’s defense, understood?”

Upon hearing this, the other two commanders said, ”We obey the orders.”

Zhang Shicheng then patted his chest and said, ”Rest assured, Prince. This time, I will certainly make Old Wang have a whole new perspective on you, Young Prince.”

Upon hearing this, Sharlu nodded with satisfaction and said, ”Hmm, not bad, you do understand me.”

Zhang Shicheng nodded, and soon Sharlu left, looking very pleased. At this moment, the other two commanders looked at Zhang Shicheng and said, ”Commander Zhang, are we really going to fight against the Prince?”

When Zhang Shicheng heard this, he paused and looked at the other two commanders and said, ”What do you two mean?”

At this moment, one commander spoke, ”Commander Zhang, we understand that the Young Prince wants to make a mark. Even if we fight tooth and nail, the Prince can’t really do anything to the Young Prince.”

”But we can’t afford it. If we fight to the death with the Prince, and he gets angry, he might really take our lives. Besides, it’s our brothers who will die in battle. Wanting to show off for the Young Prince, are we not valuing our brothers’ lives?”

Upon hearing this, the other commander said, ”That’s right, Commander Zhang. Right now we may be accused of not being able to distinguish people and lacking firm will, but we have not betrayed the Ruyang Royal Mansion. However, if we really take action against the Prince, that would be outright rebellion, and then our lives may be at stake!”

After hearing this, Zhang Shicheng thought for a while and said, ”But if we behave this way, the Prince surely won’t easily forgive us upon his return.”

The other commander said, ”That’s not true, Commander Zhang. I heard that the commanders of the thirty thousand White Deer Army who followed Lord Wuxiang to the Great Capital were all kept in their positions without heavy punishment, indicating that the Prince doesn’t intend to deal with us harshly!”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Shicheng nodded and said, ”That makes sense, what you said is true. Given this, I feel we shouldn’t follow the Young Prince blindly into darkness, what do you think?”

Upon hearing this, the two commanders said, ”That’s certain; the Young Prince can afford to play, but we can’t.”

Zhang Shicheng said, ”Since this is the case, we can’t just wait idly either. Here’s my thought, let’s pretend to deploy to confuse the Young Prince, and then we send a secret agent towards Lu’an to see the Prince, expressing our loyalty, and making clear that we have no intention of rebelling whatsoever. As long as the Prince gives an order, we are willing to surrender, what do you think?”

Upon hearing this, the two commanders nodded and said, ”Hmm, makes sense, we indeed need to let the Prince know our loyalty.”

Zhang Shicheng said, ”If that’s the case, I’ll draft a letter for the Prince, and then you two can sign your names below.”

Hearing this, the two commanders immediately nodded, and Zhang Shicheng continued, ”But, this matter must not be known by the Young Prince, otherwise it might stir up trouble and be greatly disadvantageous to us.”

The two commanders directly agreed.

At Anqing Prefecture, the Ruyang King sat in the main seat, at this moment Wang Baobao said, ”Father King, can the army march out? It is estimated that we can arrive at Longxing Prefecture City tomorrow.”

The Ruyang King said, ”Hmm, very good, then I will certainly have to properly punish this rebellious son.”

Wang Baobao said at this moment, ”Father King, there is something I need to tell you; news from the direction of Longxing Prefecture says that the Princely Heir seems to be preparing troops to fight us.”

”Oh?”

Upon hearing this, the Ruyang King’s eyes brightened!
