Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Offering the blessing: in the ancient wedding process, there are six steps in total, which are offering gifts, asking names, offering the blessing, offering the betrothal, setting the date, and welcoming the bride.

The first step is the matchmaker proposing the marriage, the second is both parties asking for names, then the year, month, and date; then comes the third step, offering the blessing, which means finding a diviner to review their birth dates.

Then comes offering the betrothal, which is the later engagement, followed by setting the date to confirm the wedding day.

In the end, welcoming the bride is the actual wedding ceremony.

Meanwhile, three letters must be prepared: the betrothal letter, the gift letter, and the welcoming letter. Only with these three letters and six betrothals can the bride be seen as truly married with proper status.

When Chen Jie heard that the Ruyang King asked him to prepare the blessing, he knew that the Ruyang King had relented and agreed to his marriage with Zhao Ya.

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie and Zhao Ya exchanged a glance, a feeling of lovers finally becoming a family; their eyes inadvertently welled up.

This journey was truly not easy.

As he thought this, suddenly he heard a voice from outside.

”Haha, lovers are finally together, congratulations, congratulations! The Old blind man comes uninvited. How about letting the Old blind man handle the blessing?”

Hmm?

Upon hearing this voice, everyone was momentarily stunned, then quickly reacted. Chen Jie flashed a smile, and Ruyang King looked at the tent entrance and said to Wang Baobao beside him: ”Hurry up and welcome Mr. Yuan.”

As soon as these words were spoken, Wang Baobao immediately stood up, opened the tent’s curtain, and saw a lean old blind man standing outside. The blind man held a stick while knocking on the tent door as he entered.

At this moment, Chen Jie immediately stood up, smiling, and said: ”Mr. Yuan, why have you come?”

Indeed, the person who appeared was none other than Yuan Sanjia, reputedly third in the world on the Heavenly List, and also an old friend of Chen Jie.

As Yuan Sanjia entered the tent, even the Ruyang King treated him very respectfully, for his third-place ranking in the world was well known.

Moreover, this Divine Dragon sees the head but not the tail; it’s usually not easy to meet him.

Now that Yuan Sanjia appeared here, both Chen Jie and the Ruyang King were very surprised, so their attention was entirely on Yuan Sanjia.

Yuan Sanjia smiled and said: ”Haha, I was wandering around the Hebei Territory, feeling parched, came here seeking some wine, and unexpectedly overheard a joyful match. Today I have two remaining divinations from my set of three; how about I give you one in exchange for some wine?”

Hearing this, the Ruyang King said: ”Mr. Yuan being willing to offer a divination is a blessing for us. Thank you, sir.”

Everyone knew the accuracy of Yuan Sanjia’s divinations, which never failed, and it’s rare to have him offer a divination easily. Last time he divined for Liu Futong, warning him to be wary of his own people, which led to Du Zundao’s rebellion.

Thus, when Yuan Sanjia was willing to give a divination now, the Ruyang King found it very precious. In his heart, he remained somewhat displeased about marrying Zhao Ya to Chen Jie.

It was a good time for Yuan Sanjia to make a judgment.

Chen Jie looked at Yuan Sanjia, feeling the visit was intentional, but he didn’t say much.

Instead, he watched Yuan Sanjia, as he sat down before the cup of tea that Wang Baobao brought, took a sip and said: ”Give me the couple’s birth dates.”

Upon hearing this, the Ruyang King looked at Chen Jie and said: ”Birth dates, please.”

Chen Jie reported his birth date, and the Ruyang King also gave Zhao Ya’s birth date.

After hearing the birth dates, Yuan Sanjia raised his hand and a Copper Coin and turtle shell appeared in it.

Then the Copper Coin entered the turtle shell and was gently shaken.

A moment later, he scattered the Copper Coin on the table, feeling it with his hand, and said: ”Qian represents Heaven, Kun represents Earth, Yin and Yang interact, giving birth to all things.”

”Now there are two, a pair. The man’s birth date: Ren year, Shen month, Wu day, Five Elements is Fire, harms the south!”

”The woman’s birth date: Jia year, Wu month, Xin day, Five Elements is Wood, harms the west.”

”Their destiny fits, Fire and Wood are compatible, just like Qian with robust force and Kun with gentle nature, complementing each other; their route of affection encounters initial obstacles as if going through perilous currents, yet their hearts are steadfast as rocks, a love firm as gold, despite many hindrances, unwavering!”

”This is Heaven’s destined match, the red string tightly bound by the matchmaker, despite a thousand sorrows and ten thousand trials, they can continue hand in hand, truly a match made in heaven!”

Yuan Sanjia, pinching his fingers, reviewed the birth dates of Chen Jie and Zhao Ya, judging their compatibility based on their destinies.

He then continued: ”Using the Zhou Yi Bagua technique, Dui symbolizes lake, Gen symbolizes mountain, ’ze shan xian’ hexagram symbolizes perception.”

”The feelings between the couple are like the natural and deep connection between mountain and lake; observing their major fortune and years, though facing difficulties and disruptions, they support each other, turning danger into safety. It’s Heaven-given fate, destined by destiny, loving and harmonious as spouses, growing old together, eternally united, with blessings enduring.”

”Two trigrams combined can be said to be the marriage of Heaven and Earth, even if you wanted to separate them, it would be difficult.”

Hearing this, the Ruyang King felt somewhat touched. Indeed, despite using many methods, in the end, he couldn’t separate this pair of mandarin ducks; he really had no more complaints.

The Ruyang King looked at Yuan Sanjia with a peculiar expression, while Chen Jie and Zhao Ya exchanged a glance, seeing in each other’s eyes the emotion of unwavering love, indeed, their love was as firm as gold.

The Ruyang King could only secretly grit his teeth, having raised a beautiful young lady, only to end up being given away cheaply to this pesky fisher boy.
