Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

The adoptive son of Ruyang King has come to lodge a complaint to the court. Upon hearing this, all the court officials were astounded, as it is no simple matter to force a vassal king to send someone to the capital to lodge a complaint.

At this moment, Tuotuo looked grim and said nothing, but his mind was already in turmoil.

After all, the adoptive son of Ruyang King coming to lodge a complaint is a much more significant accusation than the charges against him for transferring the Emperor’s personal guard. Thinking of this, Tuotuo couldn’t help but feel tense as he looked at the person on the imperial throne.

The Emperor initially was astonished, clearly not expecting the adoptive son of Ruyang King to come to the capital to lodge a complaint—what kind of grievance would require him to lodge a complaint to the capital?

Thinking of this, the Emperor’s gaze suddenly turned sharp, and he finally said with imperial authority amidst the court officials’ debates: ”Silence!”

With the Emperor’s shout, the entire court fell into silence.

Although this Emperor usually does not care about court affairs, and the people in the court often feigned compliance, no one dared to disobey the Emperor’s command, because standing behind the Emperor was that Earthly Immortal.

The Living Buddha Basiba.

As long as the Living Buddha Basiba exists, no one can shake his identity in the Borjigit Clan, the Golden Family.

In fact, the entire Daqian court’s respect for the Royal Family now relies entirely on the Living Buddha. The Living Buddha has become the idol in the hearts of all the Mulan people in the Daqian territory, the object of worship for everyone. Therefore, as long as the Living Buddha is alive.

The Royal Family of Daqian has their deterrent power, even someone as formidable as Tuotuo would not dare to say he can disregard the Royal Family. Even if he completes his plan, he would be sidestepping the Royal Family in governance, but the respect due to the Royal Family must not be lacking.

The prestige of the Living Buddha has put the Borjigit Clan in an invincible position, which is why the Emperor of Daqian enjoys causing trouble—like neglecting court affairs, favoring beauties, disrupting the harem—all these under the shelter of the Living Buddha cannot shake their reign.

In essence, even in the worst-case scenario, Daqian would only turn into a constitutional monarchy. The Emperor’s position is very secure, he would just lack real power.

And now Tuotuo’s plan has not succeeded, the Emperor still possesses his unshakable power, at this time, the Emperor rebuked all the court officials, and then said to Mr. Zhao beside him: ”Announce, Ruyang King’s adoptive son, enter the hall!”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Zhao immediately raised his eunuch-like voice and said: ”Announce, Ruyang King’s adoptive son, Kuokuo Timur, enter the hall!”

After Mr. Zhao’s announcement, Wang Baobao, who was waiting outside, adjusted his clothes and walked towards the grand hall.

...

Outside the Great Capital City at this time, in a certain forest, Chen Jie, Zhu Chongba, and Master Dharma Ba celebrated over drinks, enjoying the moment and chatting casually with one another.

As they chatted, they began discussing today’s matter, and Dharma Ba said: ”Actually, even if you send Hama into the Great Capital City to see the Emperor, it’s useless. Tuotuo has such a significant influence on the Emperor. With Tuotuo there, the Emperor can comfortably enjoy his harem. Without Tuotuo, who among the court officials could shoulder such responsibility?”

”So even if you send Hama into the Capital City to lodge a complaint against Tuotuo, it’s likely the Emperor’s attitude towards Tuotuo would be one of lifting high and setting down gently, rebuking him in a way that’s painless and without seriousness.”

Dharma Ba spoke while drinking.

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie looked at Dharma Ba and said: ”I don’t think so; can the Emperor tolerate Tuotuo shaking his imperial throne? Not to mention the current Emperor, even if I were the Emperor, I surely would want to destroy this Tuotuo, no matter how capable he is. Old Zhu, do you think I am right?”

Chen Jie looked at Zhu Chongba. Zhu Chongba listened to this, and a hint of killing intent flashed in his eyes as he said: ”Not only him, but all his accomplices must be eliminated, not one left.”

Hearing the chilling words of Zhu Chongba, Dharma Ba looked at him and said: ”Accomplices also need to be dealt with; Tuotuo holds overwhelming power within the court, students and former officials, threads interconnecting thousands, perhaps tens of thousands. Are you planning to kill them all?”

Zhu Chongba looked at Dharma Ba and said: ”Either do nothing at all or do it thoroughly! Leave no one, they must all be killed!”

Zhu Chongba’s words surprised Dharma Ba; he did not expect this seemingly simple Zhu Chongba to have such a fierce killing spirit.

However, Chen Jie was not overly surprised, because historical records document that this Emperor Hongwu truly acted as he spoke, leaving no room for compassion—the four great cases of Hongwu, each resulted in rolling heads, not to mention Hu Weiyong.

As the last Prime Minister in history, his shocking Hu Weiyong case implicated over thirty thousand people in executions.

It can be said what Tuotuo did, if placed in the era of Emperor Hongwu, it would undoubtedly lead to a brutal massacre, with no chance for leniency.

Dharma Ba was shocked by Zhu Chongba’s words, looking at Chen Jie and said: ”It’s impossible, the Emperor would not heavily punish Tuotuo, and based on the evidence of Tuotuo’s assassination attempt on Hama alone, it is not sufficient to charge Tuotuo with serious crimes.”

Chen Jie, upon hearing this, looked at Dharma Ba and said: ”Who said there is just this one charge; the greatest crime we want to accuse Tuotuo with isn’t this.”

”Hm? Not this, even the charge of assassination of the Right Minister isn’t the greatest crime, what exactly do you want to accuse him of?”

Chen Jie looked at Dharma Ba and said: ”Do you know who else entered the Great Capital together with Hama this time?”

Dharma Ba was taken aback and said: ”Who else?”

”Ruyang King’s adoptive son, Kuokuo Timur, and the major charge he is going to lodge to the Emperor is Tuotuo’s unauthorized reduction of vassals, with the intent of rebellion. Can this crime lead to Tuotuo’s death penalty?”
