Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

But now he is directly a Prince, which is also a great substitute among the Wang Family.

This represents great honor and the Emperor’s trust. Wang Baobao immediately kowtowed in gratitude, crying out long live.

The Emperor glanced at Wang Baobao and said, ”Kuo Kuo, you have made merit by entering the Capital this time. I shall bestow upon you a title: Uncle Zhongyi, with an estate of five hundred households, inherited forever without change.”

The Emperor thought of a title and directly gave it to Wang Baobao. Although Wang Baobao is the Princely Heir to the Ruyang King, he did not have a title from the court.

This time, it was extraordinary. To appease the people’s hearts, the Emperor directly awarded Wang Baobao the title of Earl, a position already quite high.

Importantly, this title is inheritable without change, meaning Wang Baobao’s lineage will always hold the position of Uncle Zhongyi.

According to Daqian’s noble title law, when descendants inherit the title, it often requires a reduction in rank, meaning a Prince’s next generation becomes Commandery Prince, then Duke, and then Marquis, Earl, Viscount, Baron.

Among these, there is one difference, which is those with inheritable titles without change.

For example, if a certain Prince has the words ”inheritable forever without change,” it means his descendants will always inherit the Prince’s title without rank reduction.

Such a Prince is commonly called an Iron Hat Prince.

Usually, there is only one title, typically inherited by the eldest son, and other children can only be commoners.

But Wang Baobao is different. After this, based on the Ruyang King’s character, he may pass on his princely title to Wang Baobao, giving Wang Baobao two titles.

One is the inherited Ruyang King title, and the other is his Uncle Zhongyi title.

If he has two sons, the eldest can continue to inherit the Ruyang King title. Of course, by then, the inherited title might be Duke (rank reduction), and the other son can inherit the Uncle Zhongyi title.

So this can be considered a profound imperial grace.

At this point, Wang Baobao was seen kneeling in gratitude. The Emperor said nothing, and immediately issued another decree.

”Furthermore, Hama.”

”Here, Your Majesty!”

Hama immediately responded. The Emperor continued, ”Issue a decree to Prince An, to let them know that I understand their thoughts. I have dismissed Tuotuo and exiled him; they can rest assured there are no treacherous officials around me. I will also go to the Great Buddha Temple for the Living Buddha to absolve me of my sins and let them know I will become better. I remain unchanged!”

”Yes!”

Upon hearing this, Hama immediately prepared to draft the decree. This decree revealed many things. The first two sentences informed these Princes to behave as I have acted on their thoughts. The court has corrected its course; no one will erase your vassals anymore!

The second sentence is also the most important: ”I will later go to the Great Buddha Temple to reflect on my faults and let the Living Buddha absolve me.”

The most crucial part is the Living Buddha, meaning to tell these Vassal Kings not to be too arrogant. I have the Living Buddha behind me; you better not go too far, or the Living Buddha can destroy you, which acts more as a deterrent.

And its impact must be top-level; among many Vassal Kings, King Qi stands out.

King Qi is arrogant, but he is not foolish; he knows who he is facing. When facing the Living Buddha, he will definitely be humble enough.

In such a Martial Arts prosperous world, an Earthly Immortal is enough to shift the country’s power dynamics, which is why the Emperor favors Tuotuo, even when he attempts to encroach on Imperial Power, the Emperor doesn’t want to kill him.

Because there’s no need, for as long as the Living Buddha stands behind the Emperor, even if Tuotuo truly has the court under his thumb, a single word from the Living Buddha can ruin Tuotuo’s reputation, so the Emperor isn’t worried.

With the Living Buddha’s protection, he is already in an unassailable position.

The final sentence, ”I remain unchanged,” warns the princes not to have improper thoughts. It can be said that the Imperial Palace’s decree is very explanatory.

Consider it a positive response to the Eight Kings’ Biography.

After saying these, the Emperor looked at All Court Officials and said, ”Well, today’s matters end here. Today is my birthday; I’ve set up a feast at Yanyan Hall, you all may attend.”

”By the way, send someone at once to invite the Ruyang King to the feast. I want to see him immediately.”

”Yes.”

Hearing this, the waiting guards outside immediately turned around and ran out, heading straight for the Great Buddha Temple. Meanwhile, the Emperor glanced at Old Hama beside him and said, ”By the way, I almost forgot, Uncle, your report this time was meritorious, listen to the decree.”

”Ah, it’s a minor merit, I dare not seek favor.”

The Emperor smiled, ”Uncle, back then you indeed helped me safeguard the throne, although now slightly aging, your spirit is quite good. Thus, Tuotuo’s Left Minister position, you may act for now, please help me with some court affairs.”

”I dare not fail to sacrifice my life!”

The Emperor smiled, ”Alright, that’s it for today. Let’s head to Yanyan Hall to drink and enjoy the dance.”

Upon saying this, the ministers immediately responded affirmatively; only Tuotuo and the Minister of the Ministry of Personnel were detained by guards, to be sent out of the Imperial Palace directly to Yunnan after completing a series of sign-offs.

This time, it was quite fortunate not to involve their families.

At this moment, Tuotuo’s spirit was still strong, although the Emperor had sent him to Yunnan, not directly killing him signifies there is still some affection between them. And when the court situation becomes chaotic or if anything happens to Old Hama, it wouldn’t be surprising for him to be called back to the Capital for reuse.
