Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Sharlu listened to Jiukong and said, ”Using a knife against my father, you really dare to think.”

Jiukong said, ”Then why just sit and wait for death? Or should we fight for a chance at survival? What do you say?”

Upon hearing Jiukong’s words, Sharlu fell silent, looked at Jiukong, and said, ”I won’t die.”

Looking at him, Jiukong saw Sharlu say, ”My father won’t kill me, but if I confront him militarily, he certainly won’t hold back.”

Jiukong heard this and said, ”So, your choice is to wait for death?”

Sharlu raised his head and said, ”Do it! I choose to fight him!”

At this moment, Sharlu spoke; he already knew his fate would not be beautiful, but he didn’t want to surrender easily. He wanted to lead the thirty thousand White Deer Army in the city to battle the Ruyang King.

He wanted to show the Ruyang King his strength and let him know that favoring Wang Baobao was a mistake.

Death wasn’t an option for him, and since it wasn’t, he might as well prove to the Ruyang King that he was wrong, that his evaluation of him was inaccurate.

Having understood this, Sharlu stood up and said, ”Help me gather the three commanders of the White Deer Army. I need to issue orders!”

Looking at Sharlu in this manner, Jiukong said, ”Ah, now this is more like a Young Prince.”

Listening to this, Sharlu laughed and said, ”As I said, I don’t aim to prove how strong I am. I just want to prove that my father underestimated me!”

Sharlu spoke with determination. His mind was simple: with the Ruyang King returning to Jiangnan, it was like a dimensional reduction strike. No matter what you do, you can’t win against the Ruyang King, so failure was a foregone conclusion.

And his future was certain too; having staged this scene, his position as Princely Heir wouldn’t last long, and without it, his status as King of Jiangnan would be gone too.

His ending would most likely be confinement, but he certainly wouldn’t be killed.

The Ruyang King, although strict, was generally good to his children, as long as they didn’t commit heinous crimes like killing Zhao Ya, Wang Baobao, or exterminating the Ruyang Royal Mansion, his life wouldn’t be at risk.

Since his life wasn’t at risk, he might as well fight boldly, even if he loses, to let the Ruyang King see his capabilities and realize his mistakes, acknowledging that wanting to pass the throne to Wang Baobao was the biggest mistake.

Were it not for the Ruyang King insisting on passing the throne to Wang Baobao, he wouldn’t be in this situation now, so he wanted to tell the Ruyang King, it was all forced by him!

He wanted to make the Ruyang King regret his choice.

Sharlu rose, and then the Heir Consort beside him spoke, ”Your Highness.”

”Bring my armor, I will inspect the army!”

...

Within the drill grounds of Longxing Prefecture City, the three commanders of the White Deer Army, leading hundreds and thousands of troops, were standing guard.

The drill grounds weren’t enough to inspect thirty thousand White Deer Army soldiers, so naturally, the commanders brought their elite units.

The three commanders stood at the front, followed by the Hundreds and Hundreds of Households.

Sharlu was seen wearing armor as he walked to the front of the commanders and said, ”Commanders, you must already know, right? Yes, the Prince is back!”

Sharlu addressed the commanders below. Hearing this, the commanders’ faces changed; they were the first to surrender to Sharlu.

Initially wanting to earn merit by following the dragon, they hadn’t expected the situation to turn out like this. What would they do now?

They all looked worried, but Sharlu said, ”However, let me tell you, even though the Prince is back, we cannot surrender. I plan to fight him!”

Hmm?

Upon hearing this, the whole area erupted into chaos; the commanders looked at each other, the Hundreds and Thousands of Households were dumbfounded.

What nonsense, you want to fight against the Ruyang King, who has subdued Jiangnan for over ten years? Are you crazy?

Unexpectedly, Sharlu continued, ”I know what you are thinking. I understand you think the Prince is unassailable, but consider this; you have already committed acts of betrayal.”

”Will the Prince still employ you upon his return? You might as well take this opportunity to fight him, demonstrate your strength, and then force the Prince to accept our surrender.”

”You’ve all heard of the old stories of the Qian Song, right? Like when the Water Pool Liangshan rogues defeated the court army first to show their value, which led to them being accepted and employed by the court?”

”You are in the same place now. Only by showing your value to the Prince can you be recognized by him and be reused. Otherwise, you have no way out!”

Sharlu said this and looked at the commanders present, ”Do you think what I said is right?”

The commanders exchanged looks, then collectively saluted Sharlu, saying, ”The Prince is right, let’s fight the Prince and show him our might.”

Upon these words, Sharlu was satisfied. He then looked at one of the many commanders and said, ”Zhang Jiusi!”

”Your Highness!”

Zhang Shicheng immediately stepped forward with a smile and nodded to Sharlu, bowing. Sharlu said, ”I promoted you to commander because of your ability. Don’t disappoint me!”
