The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Xiao Yuan took Anning’s supplementary card and went straight to the rented house to cancel the lease.

Except for some documents and items of sentimental value, he didn’t take anything from his former self.

For instance, he didn’t take his previous clothes, some accessories, or a few cheap musical instruments because Xiao Yuan couldn’t really appreciate them.

He drove Anning’s car to move homes, and by the time he reached Anning’s place, the property management had already prepared an access card for him, so Xiao Yuan directly used it to enter.

After placing a box of things in the storeroom, Xiao Yuan didn’t rest and took Anning’s supplementary card to the city’s largest shopping mall for a big shopping spree.

Spending Anning’s money, Xiao Yuan felt completely justified, and he was particularly generous with it.

He browsed through many luxury stores, picking up several items like watches, belts, cufflinks, and other accessories.

Xiao Yuan was indeed a big spender. Despite wearing a cheap outfit, he walked into luxury stores with confidence and flair, leaving the store clerks puzzled about his background.

He looked at watches and picked several models from the same brand without asking for the price, simply instructing the clerks to wrap them up and send them to his address.

He did the same for other items. Before long, the entire mall knew that a wealthy patron had arrived, buying items without hesitation or inquiring about the price, purchasing luxury goods as if buying cabbages for winter storage.

So, whenever Xiao Yuan entered a store, the staff treated him like a VIP.

After buying accessories, he went to buy clothes. With a good physique, he easily found clothes that suited him, and every outfit he tried on looked quite dashing.

Xiao Yuan went through several clothing stores, buying everything from underwear to shirts, suits, and casual wear. He not only bought for himself but also picked several outfits for Anning.

Xiao Yuan didn’t care for any of his previous clothes. Aside from the style, the materials and craftsmanship were truly lacking. Previously, he had to make do due to his circumstances, but now with money, he sought comfort.

After buying clothes, he purchased shoes and several bags, both for men and women. By the time Xiao Yuan left the shopping mall, many stores had closed to have enough time to organize all the things he bought.

The mall was adjacent to a supermarket, and Xiao Yuan went in, buying some fresh ingredients and various condiments before driving back.

By the time he got home, the clothes he bought had already been delivered, almost filling an entire truck.

Fortunately, Anning’s house was big enough; otherwise, there wouldn’t be space for everything.

Xiao Yuan instructed the staff to place the clothes and shoes in the walk-in closet and organize the accessories.

He chose a set of loungewear and changed in the bedroom, before starting to prepare ingredients for cooking.

Feng Na sat in the passenger seat, and when Anning stopped talking, she too fell silent.

She browsed a few news articles on her phone and came across a trending topic.

Curious, she opened it, and was instantly amazed.

Xiao Yuan was wearing a mask while shopping, but Feng Na could recognize him, especially his outfit. She knew immediately who it was.

Then she saw pictures of Xiao Yuan entering luxury stores, buying ridiculously expensive items as if they were common goods, leaving Feng Na with a headache.

”Mr. Yun, take a look at this trending search.”

Feng Na turned around and handed her phone to Anning.

Anning glanced at it and laughed, ”He tossed all his clothes; he needs new ones, no harm done, he should spend.”

”But...” Feng Na was worried for Anning. She had never seen anyone so extravagant, ”He can’t spend like this, two thousand million gone in a moment.”

Anning waved it off with a smile, ”It’s okay, I’ll find a way to earn it back. As long as he’s happy spending, it’s worth it. Even if it’s two hundred million, it’s no big deal, as long as he’s happy.”

Feng Na was a bit deflated, ”You’re spoiling him too much, Mr. Yun. You don’t know him that well; you should be cautious.”

”At most, it’ll just cost me some money,” Anning said indifferently, ”I’ve lived for over twenty years, it’s rare to be so fond of someone. Can’t you just let me be happy for a couple of days?”

Feng Na couldn’t say another word.

She dropped Anning off at home, and as Anning got out with her bag, she asked, ”Wanna come in? A Yuan must have made something tasty tonight. You could join us for a bite instead of ordering takeout.”

Feng Na waved her hand, ”No need, I’ve got plans with someone later.”

”Another date?” Anning teased with a smile, ”Your mom hasn’t given up, huh? Setting things up again.”

Feng Na sighed, rubbing her forehead in frustration, ”There’s no escape. All moms are the same, pushing for marriage when the time comes.”

”Alright then.” Anning waved her off, ”Go and get it done.”

She made a cheering gesture at Feng Na, ”Good luck on finding love.”

Feng Na closed the car door, muttering, ”Who needs love? Being single is great. Freedom over everything.”

Upon entering the house, Anning was greeted by the aroma of food.

She changed her shoes, put her bag down, and headed to the kitchen, ”What’s cooking?”

Xiao Yuan had just served the soup and turned to smile at Anning, ”Steamed pork ribs with rice flour, stir-fried fish in vinegar sauce, sautéed seasonal vegetables, stir-fried shredded three treasures, and a chicken skin bamboo shoot soup.”

”You’ve improved your cooking skills,” Anning complimented while helping Xiao Yuan bring the dishes over, ”It smells delicious.”

During dinner, Anning asked Xiao Yuan, ”What did you buy today?”

Xiao Yuan pointed to the walk-in closet, ”Take a look later, I bought some clothes and bags for you. Most of it is my stuff. I didn’t buy too much today due to time, I’ll go back for more tomorrow.”

”Alright, buy whatever you see fit. I’ll have someone arrange a room for your clothes tomorrow,” Anning said, smiling at Xiao Yuan over her soup.

Xiao Yuan smiled too, ”Someone’s bound to call me a spendthrift.”

Anning laughed even more, ”I have money to support you, spend away.”

The words were music to Xiao Yuan’s ears.

He was thoroughly delighted. After so many lifetimes, he could finally live as a kept man. Maybe he’d live on easy street for this life, but it was a nice arrangement, ”I like hearing you say that.”

Anning gave him a bite of food, ”Hurry up and eat, I have something to discuss with you after.”

After dinner, with dishes washed and night routine done, Xiao Yuan didn’t give Anning a chance to talk about anything, pulling her to bed and playing around until late into the night. Only then did they lay together quietly and talk.

Anning told Xiao Yuan about the contract termination, then added, ”I was thinking of starting an entertainment company just for you, but that’s probably not smart. I’ll have An Xin check to see if any reliable productions are hiring. We’ll invest in a project, and have An Xin find you a competent manager and assistant. We’ll set the foundation first and expand gradually.”

”Okay.” Xiao Yuan agreed. Despite his many lifetimes, he never quite ventured into the entertainment industry. He really didn’t know much about it, but Anning, having been a megastar, knew the industry far better than Xiao Yuan did.
