Hearing the growl, Lono instinctively glanced at the Pawmot.

But as soon as she saw what the Pokemon looked like, her mouth opened in astonishment.

That pink Pokemon with a red cape tied around its back and a small silver hammer in its hand, could it be...!

”Pawmo?” Seeing a stranger at home, Pawmot looked over, a bit puzzled.

Naoki introduced, ”This is Lono, a trainer skilled in Electric Type Pokemon, here at the ranch to participate in a trial.”

Pawmot instantly understood.

Clutching the little hammer in its hand, it looked at Lono with determination: ”Pawmo!”

Lono felt like her heart was melting from the cuteness, what an adorable Pawmot!

She lunged forward and hugged the fluffy Pawmot: ”So cute!”

Pawmot was startled, quickly pushing this person away with its paws, then hiding behind Naoki.

Lono laughed awkwardly, ”Haha, sorry, I’ve never seen a Pawmot with this color variation before, it’s just too adorable this way!”

As she spoke, Lono suddenly realized something.

No, wait! How is it that Pawmot can levitate?!

Naoki noticed her gaze and explained, ”Pawmot is a very special Pawmot, it’s excellent at controlling electric energy and can use electromagnetic levitation to fly.”

”Amazing!” Lono was shocked, ”Even as a Gym Leader specializing in Electric Type Pokemon, I can’t do that!”

Naoki chuckled and said, ”There’s a Thunder Trial here at the ranch, the trial is to battle against Pawmot. If you’re interested, you can choose this trial later.”

”That’s so cool! I’ll choose to challenge the Thunder Trial then!” Lono added, ”Hehe, usually it’s trainers who come to challenge me, now it’s my turn to be challenged, it’s quite refreshing!”

Naoki smiled gently, pulled out a chair, and let a few Pokemon sit on it.

Lono sat opposite, looking expectantly at the table full of food: ”I’m digging in!”

Naoki: ”...”

No wonder she’s a girl from the anime world!

He doesn’t have this habit at home and never says ”I’m digging in.”

Hearing someone say it for the first time, Naoki found it quite novel.

Lono didn’t eat in an elegant and quiet manner, instead, she seemed very lively.

Naoki observed Lono quietly while eating.

He found that Lono now seemed a bit different from the Lono in the game.

Because she didn’t speak in the quirky ”catch your eye with an Electroweb,” ”good morning, afternoon, evening, hello” Lono manner.

However, what really caught Naoki’s attention was the Magnemite hair clips on Lono’s head.

Because he noticed, those Magnemite hair clips actually moved!

”Hmm? Mr. Naoki, are you looking at the Magnemite?” Lono lifted her head following Naoki’s gaze.

Naoki blinked and nodded, ”Are they real Magnemite?”

”Of course!” Lono grinned, ”They’ve been my companions ever since I started my journey!”

As if to support Lono, the two Magnemite jumped on the spot.

Naoki was very shocked.

He always thought those were just Magnemite hair clips, but they turned out to be real Magnemite!

If he remembers correctly, a single Magnemite weighs around 6kg, so two would be 12kg.

Oh my! In that case, Lono is quite the super rookie too!

With two Magnemites on her head, wouldn’t her neck get tired?

But remembering that Ash had once lifted Nebby, weighing 999kg, with one hand, Naoki was at ease.

You can’t view people in this world by common standards.

So he withdrew his gaze and quietly continued eating.

Soon, lunchtime was over, and Lono, satisfied, casually praised, ”Mr. Naoki’s cooking is really good!”

Naoki chuckled, ”Just practice makes perfect.”

”Haha, Mr. Naoki is so modest!” Lono laughed.

She found Naoki a bit different from what she had imagined.

A few weeks ago, the chairman gathered the eight Gym Leaders of the Paldea Region and assigned them a task to go train at a place called Naoki Ranch in Porto Marinada Town.

At that time, all the Gym Leaders were surprised.

The chairman didn’t explain much, just said they must go.

Before coming, Lono imagined what the owner of the ranch would be like.

Would he be an old farmer, wearing a straw hat, with a full white beard, looking very aged.

However, when she saw this person at first sight, she immediately recognized him.

OMG, isn’t this the protagonist from the Man and Dragon show that was aired on TV back then? Even appeared on TV!

Those delivery Dragonites left a deep impression on her back then, and she still remembers them vividly today.

No farmer’s straw hat, no white beard, tall and big, with a layer of stubbly black beard on his chin, looking quite imposing.

But upon actual interaction, Lono found him surprisingly easy to talk to, polite, and his cooking skills were excellent, plus he was an uncle who really liked Pokemon.

”Uncle Naoki!” Lono, off-guard, blurted out what she had in mind, full of energy: ”I’m ready! We can start the trial now!”
