Chapter 554: Chapter 315: Competing Dragonites

Naoki previously didn’t know the precise location of Kitakami.

Before he crossed over to this world, the Violet DLC hadn’t been released yet, so he instinctively thought Kitakami was in the shadowy northeast part of the Paldea Region.

But now it seems that’s not the case.

There lies an endless mountain range never shown in the anime, and heading north through those mountains takes you to the Kalos Region.

As of now, according to Mayor Thomas, Kitakami seems to be a very remote village in the south of the Sinnoh Region, northeast of the Kanto Region.

Mayor Thomas: ”There’s no airport in Porto Marinada Town, so you’ll have to fly from the neighboring Cascarrafa City. Don’t worry, all travel expenses will be covered by the town.”

Naoki nodded, simultaneously pondering.

Today is February 26, League Year 199, and three days later on the 29th, he will depart from Porto Marinada Town to go to Kitakami for a week-long agricultural exchange.

It’s a perfect time to handle some things piling up at the ranch during these three days.

”Okay, I’ve got it.”

Mayor Thomas smiled and nodded, then took out a card and handed it over.

”This represents the exchange member identification badge. When you get there, someone will meet you at the station. Present this badge, and the people in Kitakami will arrange everything for you.”

Naoki reached out to take it, then thanked Mayor Thomas.

It was late, and after everything was explained, Mayor Thomas got up to leave.

”I have to head back, just remember to set off later. Don’t worry about the ranch, the town will help look after it.”

”Alright.”

Naoki escorted Mayor Thomas to the door, watched his figure disappear down the road, and then turned back to the living room.

”AiYi?” His sister, Indeedee, pointed to the seafood in the bowl, asking if he wanted to continue preparing the ingredients.

Naoki glanced at it, and then remembered the matter at hand: ”No need, I’ve already washed them clean, just steam them.”

With that said, he stepped forward, taking over Indeedee’s position, and poured clams, sea snails, oysters, little shrimp, crabs, and other seafood into the steamer.

In the meantime, Naoki crushed some garlic, made a simple garlic sauce, and prepared a few bowls of dipping sauces.

Porto Marinada Town is by the sea, so the seafood sold in the market is freshly caught in the morning, making them very lively.

Soon, the unique fragrance of seafood accompanied by steam wafted from the pot.

Seeing that it’s about done, Naoki lifted the lid, and poured the pile of seafood into a large iron basin.

Naoki looked down, and in the next second, information about the seafood emerged from his mind.

[Seafood Stew (C+): A marine dish made from various kinds of seafood, possessing a unique ocean flavor.

Effect: Small Fish and Seafood lv1, moderately increases Water Type Pokemon’s friendliness, only effective for Water Type Pokemon.

Rating: A simple seafood feast, a very common dish in life!]

”Small Fish and Seafood? Increases Water Type Pokemon friendliness?” Naoki was quite surprised.

It seems his ranch doesn’t really have any Water Type Pokemon...

Oh, right, he almost forgot those silly Psyduck!

Naoki immediately prepared to separate some shells and shrimp to send to those Psyduck later.

Dragonites really love seafood.

As Pokemon living on an island, most of their food sources are in the vast ocean.

Fish, squid, shrimp, and shellfish from the sea are all on their menu.

Every morning, they wake up promptly and catch some fish from the sea to fill their stomachs.

After they are full, the Dragonites fly to the ranch to work and savor those delicious Poffins.

At noon, they don’t go back to Dragonite Island, so Naoki prepares nutritious sandwiches for them to fill their stomachs.

They then stay in the ranch until the evening, flying back to Dragonite Island after the sun sets.

Therefore, this seafood is not considered unusual for them.

But through Naoki’s cooking, the taste of this seafood is noticeably better compared to before!

Naoki clearly saw Dragonite No. 2’s eyes light up after eating a squid dipped in sauce.

Soon, Dragonite No. 3, Dragonite No. 4, and the faces of those five Dragonairs all showed expressions of enjoying the food.

Compared to the Dragonites, Koraidon and Cyclizar aren’t too fond of this seafood.

They prefer big, juicy roasted meat over these salty-smelling weird foods.

One bite and the juice explodes kind.

So, the entire basin of seafood was eaten clean by the Dragonites.

After eating, they still looked like they wanted more.

Naoki: ”...”

In the evening, after playing all day at the ranch, the Dragonites and Dragonairs carried the Poffin Box and happily returned to Dragonite Island.

They sat in front of the central lake, cheerfully eating all the Poffins in the box, then a few Dragonites began discussing serious matters.

Dragonite No. 2: ”Roar!” (Naoki, like us, also likes to eat fish!)

Dragonair No. 1: ”Woo~” (Tomorrow morning, I want to catch lots and lots of fish for Naoki!)
