Chapter 566: Chapter 319: The Sinistcha

Previously, it was learned from the townspeople that the ”ghost” that killed the Loyal Three is still on the mountain.

Usually, the townspeople rarely go up the mountain, mostly staying around the foot of it.

But considering now, it seems not everyone is that timid!

Spotting the mysterious figure, Naoki had no other thoughts initially.

He withdrew his gaze, turned to the other side, and was ready to continue searching for the Slugma’s habitat in the Infernal Pass, but unexpectedly, Koraidon directly chased after it.

Naoki was stunned for a second: ”Koraidon, where are you going?”

Pawmot was equally puzzled: ”Pawmo?”

”Arghhh!”

Koraidon glanced back, momentarily unsure how to explain.

It had to turn around, transform from its mount form to its battle form, and scooped Naoki onto its shoulder, carrying him and leaping across the protruding rocks.

Naoki: ”???”

Pawmot, though bewildered, quickly followed.

Naoki only felt the scene in front of him changing rapidly, as Koraidon made quick twists and turns, with the surroundings changing rapidly.

In this intense rush akin to bungee jumping, Naoki felt he almost went to see his ancestors.

When Koraidon finally placed him down, Naoki was already seeing stars, almost about to throw up.

Koraidon and Pawmot looked worried.

Deep breaths, deep breaths!

Naoki tried to regain his composure, without blaming Koraidon, instead asking curiously: ”Did you find something?”

Koraidon nodded its big head repeatedly, turning to look ahead.

At this moment, Naoki realized Koraidon had brought him to a very tranquil cliff.

Ahead was the enormous mountain range, with a magnificent waterfall cascading from the peak, surrounded by some greenery, connected to the outside by a particularly narrow mountain path.

”This is...”

Following Koraidon’s gaze, Naoki soon spotted a dark cave on that desolate cliff.

Koraidon lifted its foot and walked toward the cave.

Realizing there might be something inside, Naoki cautiously moved forward with Pawmot alongside Koraidon.

They soon reached the cave entrance.

The cave was very narrow, with Koraidon having to lower its head to get inside.

After passing through a tunnel over three meters long, the cave’s interior suddenly became spacious.

Seeing the scene inside, Naoki was immediately stunned.

The cave wasn’t large, containing several stones of varying sizes, polished to smoothness.

The largest stone looked like a bed, with a square stone piled at its side, and another smaller stone alongside, seemingly serving as a table and chair for dining.

And the green figure they had seen earlier was now huddled in the cave’s corner, shivering with fear.

It’s scared!

In an instant, Naoki recognized the opposite party’s emotion.

He carefully examined this unknown creature.

It wore a green cloak, its face resembling a little tangerine, with eyes that seemed to shimmer like stars.

And next to it lay a green mask.

No, this appearance definitely wasn’t human!

Could it be a Pokémon?

Naoki had never seen such a Pokémon before.

”Arghhh...”

”Pawmo...”

Koraidon and Pawmot also sensed the Pokémon’s emotions, and they appeared somewhat at a loss.

Pawmot was quickest to react, recalling Alcremie who loved making friends everywhere, a small light bulb lit up on its head.

”Pawmo!” Pawmot flew forward, somehow pulled out a Berry, spread its paws, and placed it in front of the Pokémon.

It was Naoki’s first time seeing such a timid Pokémon, not knowing what to do, he tried to soothe it: ”Hello? Don’t be afraid, we won’t hurt you.”

Upon hearing this, the Pokémon cautiously glanced at them.

Then, as if seeing something more frightening, it bolted out the entrance, forgetting the mask altogether.

Pawmot’s Berry was knocked over, rolled to the ground, and spun around a couple of times.

Naoki, dumbfounded, followed outside, but the Pokémon was very fast and soon ran far away.

Naoki didn’t chase it because he realized the creature was quite timid and the terrain here was complex, one could easily fall.

Chasing it would only make the Pokémon more frantic, leading to a disastrous fall off the cliff.

Once the Pokémon was completely out of sight, Pawmot returned to the cave, regretfully picking up its cherished Berry from the ground.

Meanwhile, Naoki examined the cave’s surroundings.

Bed, table, chair...

It seemed someone used to live in seclusion here.

Or was it something the Pokémon made on its own?

”Its body is green, appearing to be a Grass Type Pokémon.” Naoki glanced at the mask on the bed and indeed saw parts resembling grass leaves.

Though unfamiliar, he could roughly guess this Pokémon might be one of the new additions from the Kitakami DLC.

”Pawmo...” Beside him, Pawmot sorrowfully wiped off the dust on the Berry.

With a glance, Naoki told it: ”Don’t be sad, it might have just been scared by us.”

”Pawmo!” Pawmot perked up again.

Naoki felt his own pocket, then took off his backpack, pulling out some berries and placing them on that stone table.

When the pile of berries formed a small hill, he stopped.

”This place seems to be its home, we’ll leave the berries here; when it gets hungry, it’ll come back to eat.”

Pawmot looked at the table, then at the Berry in its paw, happily adding it to the ”Berry Hill”.

”Pawmo~”

”Alright!” Naoki took a deep breath, not forgetting his goal: ”We should go and befriend Slugma now.”

Upon hearing this, Pawmot eagerly hovered beside Naoki: ”Pawmo Pawmo!”

Naoki smiled slightly, securing his backpack: ”Let’s go!”

He led the two Pokémon outside and continued the journey.

Koraidon reverted to its mount form, glanced back at the cave, and then at Naoki, showing a puzzled expression.

Only after Naoki and Pawmot were far did it hastily follow along.

Once they had departed, who knows how long later, a green figure cautiously returned along the narrow path.

It ran back to the cave, nervously inspecting the cave’s interior with its star-like eyes.

Upon seeing the mask was still there, the Pokémon finally exhaled in relief, then moved forward to pick up the mask, hugging it dearly.

But just then, it suddenly noticed something different in the cave.

Staring at the small mountain of berries stacked on the stone table, the Pokémon showed a dazed expression.
