Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 553: Chapter 314: Kitakami Agricultural Exchange Conference

”Woo!” Naoki, do you also like to eat these things?

If so, they can catch more on their way back to Dragonite Island tonight, and bring them back tomorrow morning as a gift for Naoki!

Naoki didn’t know what the Dragonairs and Dragonites had in mind. He handed this bag of seafood to his sister, Indeedee, intending to steam it for lunch.

As for himself, he carried the treasure chest and two coins to the tavern.

The tavern was empty during the day. A ray of sunlight streamed through the window, clearly illuminating the dust floating in the air.

It seemed that his brother, Indeedee, had just finished sweeping.

Naoki looked around and didn’t see any trace of Gimmighoul, but he was sure that it was still there, just hiding.

He didn’t do anything special, just put the treasure chest and two ancient gold coins in the shadow under the bar, then said to the surroundings:

”Gimmighoul, I found a treasure chest and two coins outside today, so I brought them back as a gift for you. Remember to check if you like them later.”

After he finished speaking, the air remained silent, without any response.

Naoki didn’t mind and left immediately after speaking.

As time ticked by and the sound of footsteps faded away, Gimmighoul slowly peeked its head out from the darkness.

It cautiously surveyed the surroundings, then turned its gaze to the large treasure chest and the two coins beside it.

Gimmighoul didn’t rush over immediately; it stared blankly at these things and then jumped onto the bar, looking toward the entrance.

Gimmighoul was very puzzled.

Why was that human being so nice to it? Giving it such precious gifts?

It hadn’t done anything at all...

After leaving the tavern, Naoki began to handle the seafood at home.

Once he had cleaned all the shells and conchs, it was midday.

Naoki was about to steam them when he suddenly heard Mayor Thomas’ voice outside.

”Is Naoki home? Good afternoon, Cyclizar! Ah, Koraidon! You too!”

Upon hearing this, Naoki was a bit confused.

Huh? Why would Mayor Thomas come to the ranch at this time?

He put down his work and went outside: ”Mayor Thomas, is there something you need?”

Mayor Thomas nodded with a smile: ”The town recently received an invitation.”

”An invitation?” Naoki was even more puzzled and quickly invited Mayor Thomas to sit inside.

After they sat on the sofa, Mayor Thomas explained the purpose of his visit.

”It’s like this: last year, Porto Marinada Town had a great harvest and provided a lot of fresh vegetables and crops to other parts of the Paldea Region. Because of this, Porto Marinada Town has become more renowned in agricultural planting.”

”Not long ago, the town received an invitation from Kitakami. They want to hold an agricultural exchange meeting with us and have invited an experienced farmer from our town to go to Kitakami to share planting techniques with the farmers there.”

”After a town-wide discussion, we’ve decided to send you to attend the exchange meeting, so I came today to ask if you have time.”

Naoki understood. He had just heard from the antique store owner about the frightening rumors of Kitakami earlier and was thinking about visiting when he had the time.

Didn’t expect the opportunity to come now?

Though he’s not very experienced in farming, relying on Diglett for tilling, Gogoat for crop growth, and Dragonite for watering...

But that’s okay, he can go there to preach about Calyrex!

With this in mind, Naoki immediately asked, ”When?”

Mayor Thomas cheerfully replied, ”In three days. However, Kitakami is some distance away, and you’ll have to take a plane to get there.”
