Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 552: Chapter 314: Kitakami Agricultural Exchange Conference (4000)_2

Naoki: ”Fifteen thousand? Besides this, I can also have a long-term collaboration with you.”

”Oh?” The shop owner was instantly interested, ”What kind of long-term collaboration?”

Naoki had long noticed the two Paldea ancient gold coins placed on the shelf and pointed at them, saying, ”As many of these ancient coins as you have, I’ll take them all.”

Upon hearing this, the shop owner turned around and saw the two ancient coins on the shelf.

These ancient coins also originated from the Paldea Kingdom period, minted by the kingdom, and were once circulating currency.

Some modern collectors specifically collect these historically significant coins for their collections.

But because these ancient coins are mostly scattered around, they aren’t very expensive on the market, generally priced at around fifty thousand League currency per coin.

Compared to other antique tea sets, which easily go for two hundred thousand, they’re quite cheap.

”You want that?” the shop owner asked.

”To be honest, not long ago, I encountered a Gimmighoul at home. Seeing it likes these coins a lot, I thought of giving it coins to see if I could establish a good relationship with it.” Naoki said honestly.

”Gimmighoul?” The shop owner was full of surprise.

The shop owner was puzzled by this young man’s appearance as someone who didn’t seem to love antiques because it was clear from his eyes.

Those precious antiques were just looked at like roadside cabbages, merely glanced at before he shifted his gaze.

Upon hearing this, he finally understood the reason!

”You want to help Gimmighoul collect coins to help it evolve into Gholdengo?” The shop owner was very shocked.

”Eh?” Naoki was equally surprised, ”You know about this Pokemon, Gholdengo?”

”Anyone in this business knows about Gholdengo, right?” the shop owner explained, ”Because Gimmighoul originated two thousand years ago during the kingdom era, their existence is intricately linked to these antique treasures.”

”Because Gimmighoul was born from explorers’ greed for treasure!”

”I see...” Naoki murmured, nodding.

The shop owner continued, ”Originally, nobody knew Gimmighoul could evolve until two hundred years ago when it’s said a collector became friends with a coin-collecting Gimmighoul.”

”That antique collector spent a fortune gathering a large pile of ancient coins from around the world for his beloved Gimmighoul.”

”Then, that Gimmighoul merged with these coins and evolved into a Pokemon called Gholdengo!”

”Since then, some people who liked Gholdengo began collecting coins, but Gimmighoul is so timid, they run away upon seeing humans, making it difficult for most to capture them.”

”Moreover, these coins are hard to collect, so no second Gholdengo has been born in the Paldea Region to this day.”

”Is it really that exaggerated?” Upon hearing this, Naoki was astonished.

He only knew Gholdengo was rare, but not that it was this rare.

Only one has appeared in the past two hundred years...

”Of course!” The shop owner nodded, ”Not to hide from you, some antique shops sell ancient coins, mostly priced at around fifty thousand League currency.”

”One coin is fifty thousand, a thousand coins would be fifty million League currency! Most people couldn’t afford that!”

”Moreover, the ancient coins currently on the market are mostly found by Trainers from ancient ruins and tombs.”

”Those ancient ruins are extremely dangerous, although they’re filled with precious metals, the tomb and ruins’ owners set up deadly traps and powerful Pokemon guards inside to prevent grave robbers after their death.”

”Once intruders are detected, those Pokemon will chase after ill-intentioned people without rest to protect their former master’s tomb.”

Naoki entertaining the thought of grave-robbing: ”...”

Forget it, let’s change the approach; fighting is too unfriendly.

”I’ll take these two ancient coins and this treasure chest,” Naoki said, ”If you collect any more ancient gold coins in the future, feel free to contact me. I can pay you an additional fee.”

”No problem at all!” The shop owner agreed, ”But I have one condition.”

Naoki calmly thought and then nodded, ”Tell me.”

The shop owner showed yearning, ”If one day you truly raise a Gholdengo, you must bring it for me to see with my own eyes!”

Naoki grinned, ”Alright.”

He left the farm’s phone number for the shop owner, paid, then carried the treasure chest and two coins back to the farm.

Naoki had just gotten off the Cyclizar with seafood purchased in town, when several Dragonite and Dragonair from Dragonite Island gathered around, curiously looking at the bag containing seafood.

”Raaaw?”

Naoki opened the bag to let them have a look, ”I bought this from town...”

He intended to say he’d let the Dragonite taste it at noon, but from the look in their eyes, it’s clear this wasn’t their first time seeing such things.

For Dragonite who live on the sea, these little fish, shrimp, and shells should also be part of their diet.

The distant Dragonite also ran over, joining the working Dragonite around the bag of seafood.

The Dragonair’s eyes were sparkling, they looked at the seafood, then at Naoki, showing a sudden expression on their faces.
