Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When the assistant saw that Lili had actually found his deeply hidden network drive, he turned beet red with terror. ”Are you serious?” he stammered in horror. ”I already destroyed my phone and hard drive! But you still wouldn’t let me go, even finding the network drive I hid so well. Are you planning to exterminate me by deleting every last one of the movies I’ve saved?”

When Zhao Rong saw that the assistant had managed to store 100 gigabytes of videos on the drive, he feigned shock and fell to the ground. ”Assistant, I never would have guessed! The devil climbs a foot, but virtue climbs ten. You destroyed the videos on your phone and your hard drive, yet you secretly stashed even more on a network drive. Brother, I have to admire your dedication to this hobby of yours.”

With that, Zhao Rong snapped his fingers at Lili. ”Lili, to reform our assistant, to get him to focus on more productive tasks, and to keep him from ruining his future over these videos... go ahead and wipe his network drive. Delete and destroy all 100 gigabytes of it.”

At Zhao Rong’s command, Lili immediately formatted the assistant’s network drive, completely wiping out more than 100 gigabytes of data. When the assistant saw that his collection—years of painstakingly accumulated and saved videos—had been obliterated in an instant, he let out a despairing, tearless cry to the heavens. ”If you don’t want anyone to know, don’t do it in the first place... There are no impenetrable walls in this world... From this day forward, I, the assistant, will learn from my painful mistakes, turn over a new leaf, and start my life anew!”

With that, the assistant picked up a brick from the ground and fell in line behind Zhao Rong, joining the natives as they marched to storm the Avatar headquarters.

The Primeval Forest before them was incredibly dense, filled with all kinds of plants and animals that the five of them had never seen. Just then, Lili spotted a strikingly beautiful flower. She pointed at it excitedly and said to Zhao Rong, ”Zhao Rong, look at that flower! I don’t think we have anything that gorgeous on Earth.”

Zhao Rong was captivated as well. The flower was so breathtakingly beautiful that it was no exaggeration to say it could make fish forget to swim and geese forget to fly.

But as Lili moved closer to pick it, one of the natives frantically stopped her. ”Human girl, you don’t understand!” he warned. ”It may look pretty, but that flower eats people!”

When Lili heard the flower was a man-eater, she frowned in confusion. ”How can you say it’s a man-eater? It’s so beautiful.”

The native immediately explained, ”You don’t know. That flower’s name is the Winter-Tiger, Summer-Flower. In the winter, it’s a tiger, and in the summer, it’s a flower.”

Hearing the name, Lili furrowed her brow in disbelief. ”So you’re saying that when a person gets close, the flower will instantly turn into a tiger, open its massive, bloody maw, and swallow them whole?”

The native nodded, keeping a safe distance from the flower. ”That’s right, beautiful girl. As soon as someone gets near, it transforms into a ferocious tiger descending the mountain and swallows them in one gulp.”

Listening to the native, Lili promptly pulled a mannequin from her bag and threw it toward the flower. ”I refuse to believe such a strange plant exists...”

But before she could finish speaking, the mannequin she had thrown flew toward the flower. The moment it got close, a ferocious tiger materialized and instantly devoured it. After eating the dummy, the tiger immediately reverted to its flower form.

When Zhao Rong and his group saw the flower transform into a ferocious tiger and then quickly back again, their perception of reality was shattered.

Zhao Rong couldn’t help but exclaim, ”It’s a wide world, full of wonders...”

Lili, deeply struck by the event, added, ”It seems we have to be extremely cautious in this prehistoric civilization. A beautiful flower could actually be a ferocious tiger...”

The ever-cautious Yu Lan agreed. ”In this place, the more beautiful the flower, the more dangerous it is. Everyone, stay alert and be careful.”

Xuelian picked up a rock and tossed it at the harmless-looking flower. ”I never imagined that in a prehistoric world, plants could be more dangerous than animals.”

After that, the group continued onward. They had only taken a few steps when Yu Lan spotted a cute little white rabbit nearby. As she approached to pick it up, she said with a delighted smile, ”I can’t believe it! There are adorable little rabbits in this prehistoric world too. It looks exactly like the ones back on Earth!”

However, just as Yu Lan was about to scoop up the little rabbit, a terrified native grabbed her by the clothes and yanked her a hundred meters back. ”Yu Lan, don’t go near that rabbit!” he yelled, his voice filled with panic. ”It’s not a rabbit at all—it’s a Man-Eating Flower!”

When Yu Lan heard the native claim the animal was a flower, she frowned in utter shock. ”You can’t be serious! How could that cute little rabbit possibly be a flower, let alone a Man-Eating Flower? Is it like that Winter-Tiger, Summer-Flower? Will it also turn into a ferocious tiger when I get close and swallow me whole?”

”You don’t understand, Yu Lan,” the native explained. ”When someone approaches that rabbit, it rapidly transforms into a Man-Eating Flower. It eats people using a hidden pitfall trap filled with powerful acid. As soon as a person gets close, the rabbit changes form and the ground in front of it collapses. The victim falls into the acid—the flower’s gastric juice—and is instantly dissolved and digested.”

After hearing how terrifying the little rabbit was, Xuelian borrowed a mannequin from Lili and tossed it toward the creature.

The instant the mannequin flew close, the adorable rabbit transformed into a thorny, bewitching flower. A pitfall trap immediately opened in the ground before it. As the trap gave way, the mannequin fell straight into the pool of acid, where it was instantly dissolved and absorbed.

Afterward, the thorny flower reverted to the form of a cute little white rabbit. It sat there placidly, lying in wait for its next target.
