Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When Zhao Rong used the Real Person Identification Scanner on the nearby assistant and proved he was authentic, the three women immediately lowered their weapons.

Miss Lili let out a long sigh of relief. She touched her chest and said, ”I wonder what kind of villain stole our DNA maps and sequences to create so many clones. It’s making everyone panic. We can’t tell who’s real, who’s fake, who’s a clone, and who’s a replicant...”

Yu Lan, looking a little frightened, said, ”Zhao Rong, I’m worried that in a few days, a man who looks exactly like you will suddenly appear. You know, to the three of us, you’re practically a god... We have absolutely no resistance to you. If someone showed up who looked, spoke, and dressed exactly like you, the three of us would definitely mistake him for you without a second thought.”

Zhao Rong comforted her. ”Yu Lan, if you encounter anyone you’re unsure of, just use this Real Person Identification Scanner. It will tell you if they’re real or fake.”

Clutching the mini portable scanner tightly, Yu Lan looked at Zhao Rong with determination, nodded, and said, ”Zhao Rong, we’ll do as you say and stick close to you.”

Just then, the assistant came running up with a tense expression. ”Zhao Rong, guess what I just saw?”

Zhao Rong pulled the assistant from the first floor into a room on the second and asked, ”What did you see? Take your time, don’t rush.”

The assistant licked his chapped lips and told Zhao Rong and the three women, ”Just now, when I was passing the playground on my way to find you, I suddenly saw five people. And those five people were us—you, Zhao Rong, me, Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian.”

When Zhao Rong heard that the enemy had already replicated all five of them, his guard went up. He handed a scanner to the assistant and instructed him, ”Assistant, since the enemy has already made copies of us, you must use this scanner at all times. It’s the only way to tell the real from the fake, got it? Don’t act recklessly, and never rely on your instincts. Relying on your eyes alone often leads to misjudgment, which can cause huge problems.”

The assistant also clutched the scanner tightly and assured Zhao Rong, ”Don’t worry, Zhao Rong. I’ll make good use of this scanner. I’ll definitely be able to tell the real people from the fakes.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the assistant suddenly needed to urinate. ”I drank too much water on my way here, so I really have to go,” he said, rushing toward the bathroom. ”Hope you three ladies don’t mind if I use it.” With that, he dashed inside and locked the door.

Watching the assistant enter the bathroom, Zhao Rong said reflectively, ”It seems that this time, after entering the Magic Academy, we’ve truly met a formidable opponent.”

Miss Lili cautiously scanned their surroundings, her expression tense. ”I hope no more clones show up,” she said. ”This is really unsettling. I can’t even sleep properly.”

Gripping her scanner, Yu Lan scanned the area and said, ”Don’t be afraid, Miss Lili. As long as we have the scanner Zhao Rong gave us, we have nothing to fear. With this Divine Artifact in hand, we can always determine if someone is real or fake.”

Suddenly, Xuelian stared at the assistant who had just walked in through the front door. ”Assistant,” she exclaimed in surprise, ”didn’t you just go to the bathroom? How is it that I didn’t see you come out of there, but you came in through the front door instead?”

Standing behind Miss Lili, Yu Lan immediately raised her scanner and aimed it at the assistant. ”If I’m right,” she said, ”the real assistant went into the bathroom, and this clone came in from outside.”

Xuelian was also certain the assistant from the doorway was a clone. She aimed her pepper spray at him, ready to press the button. ”Drop the act, you clone! Get on the ground and surrender, or I’ll empty both these cans of pepper spray on you!”

However, when Yu Lan finished scanning the assistant, she stared, dumbfounded. In disbelief, she stammered, ”Zhao Rong, is there some mistake? How is the assistant who came in the door the real one, not a clone? Then the one who came up from the balcony and went into the bathroom... is he real or fake?”

Miss Lili was also terrified. ”Zhao Rong, could the scanner you gave us be malfunctioning? How else could it identify two different people as real?”

A horrifying thought occurred to Xuelian. ”Could it be that the enemy’s technology is so advanced that our scanners can no longer detect them?”

Just as the three women were reeling in confusion, Zhao Rong smiled. ”Yu Lan, Miss Lili, Xuelian,” he said, ”the person who came through the door is the real assistant. He’s not a clone.”

Hearing this, Yu Lan asked, completely baffled, ”Zhao Rong, does that mean the one who came in from the balcony was a clone?”

Xuelian shook her head. ”But Zhao Rong scanned the assistant from the balcony and confirmed he was real. How could he instantly become a clone? That’s completely illogical and unscientific!”

As the three women’s heads spun, unable to tell who was real and who was fake, Zhao Rong pointed to the bathroom and explained, ”Actually, the assistant who climbed up from the balcony was a clone. The reason I scanned him and said he was real was to lure the enemy in. I wanted to trick the clone into coming upstairs so we could lock him in the bathroom.”
