Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1951: Chapter 1854: Before the Rain

Huo Sining laughed, ”I mean, let them gag themselves.”

This statement was unclear. Not to mention Huang Zhenlong, even Zhou Shitao and the others were confused: ”What do you mean?”

Huo Sining said, ”Once the news of us bidding on these two Beast Heads reaches back home, gentlemen, what do you think those with ulterior motives would most likely use to attack us?”

Zhou Shitao paused and then snorted lightly, ”Of course, they would claim that we are using taxpayers’ money to buy something worth less than ten million on the market. They might even intentionally twist it more maliciously, accusing the government of inaction or officials of profiting personally, laundering money and so on, since we’ve spent more than ten times the market price. The people back home probably won’t understand this kind of expense.”

Huo Sining nodded, ”Exactly, I can foresee this kind of thing happening. Moreover, certain capitalists control the media, launching public attacks, and the netizens, unable to discern right from wrong, can easily be used as tools.”

Huo Sining remembered clearly that previously, in the aftermath of the Qingya earthquake, she was besieged by a mob of online trolls. If it weren’t for her previous efforts in rescuing people in Qingya being dug up, even if she donated more money later, she would have been criticized and questioned by the media and netizens, right?

These kinds of incidents, if they can happen once, they can happen again. Domestic netizens are easily deceived, following the crowd, eventually becoming tools for harm.

However, Huo Sining, having returned from several years in the future, knew that by then, the internet would be even more advanced than it is now. She had seen countless PR tactics, and even though she didn’t work in PR in her past life, she had witnessed multiple entertainment scandals like ”See You Monday,” so she understood the internet better than anyone else present.

Since these netizens can be exploited by those ulterior Americans, they could also be turned into a weapon for her counterattack.

”Huo girl, since you know this matter could cause such an impact, you still say you want to shut these people up. What’s your game plan?” Master Huang asked urgently.

Huo Sining smiled, ”Grandpa Huang, the point those Americans can attack us from is nothing more than the notion of using our people’s money, but if the Beast Heads are bought with my own money, then those people would have nothing to say, right?”

Qin Lianshan shook his head, ”That’s not necessarily true. Those Americans often twist the truth. Even if it’s your money, they would still question it. After all, you just donated three billion and publicly stated your group’s assets were donated to the foundation. If you now claim it’s your personal funds, people might not believe you, and you’d end up with a mess.”

”Exactly, your master just said it too, now you’re considered part of Chief Lu’s family. Those Americans could still throw dirt on you, questioning the origins of your funds. By then, netizens wouldn’t believe you, and all your previous efforts would be in vain, leaving you disgraced by those Americans.”

Xie Daoyuan, who usually focused only on archaeology and never got involved in politics, also couldn’t help but frown.

Huo Sining nodded, ”You’re not wrong, but what if this money has a legitimate source, and it was given to me by those Americans?”

Zhou Shitao paused, suddenly raised his head, ”What did you say?”

Huang Zhenlong’s body stiffened, looking at Huo Sining incredulously, ”Huo girl, what do you mean by that? Are you saying that in half a month, you made back billions from those Americans?”

Not only Huang Zhenlong, but Qin Lianshan and Xie Daoyuan also looked at Huo Sining with shock and skepticism.

Huo Sining smiled, ”Why not? As long as it’s not our money spent, these two Beast Heads can be rightfully returned. The more noise those Americans make, the harder the slap will land on their faces. They use this to attack us, and I will turn it around to shut them up!”

Zhou Shitao glanced at his young confident disciple in front of him, his eyes sparkling, ”That is indeed the most straightforward and effective solution. But where are you going to find that much money so quickly? Are you planning to gamble in Las Vegas?”

”In half a month’s time, even if you give it your all, you might not win that much back, right?”

”Besides, at the WGC award ceremony you stated you would no longer participate in gambling circles. If you returned now, it would mean going back on your word, and the media would surely use it to attack you.”

Huo Sining saw the disapproval in Zhou Shitao’s eyes. Even though Zhou Shitao previously showed unprecedented support when she gambled against Alden, Huo Sining knew that Zhou Shitao was actually hoping she wouldn’t develop further on the gambling path, partly for fear of distraction, partly fearing she’d go astray. The reason she agreed to Clayflo’s betting request was merely to secure priority purchase rights for the Beast Head.

In fact, if Su Qingqing hadn’t suggested going to Volcano Park to mine for diamonds, Huo Sining might have actually considered a gambling spree in Las Vegas.

After all, this started because Clayflo tried to trap her, and even if she went to Las Vegas to win billions from the casino, it would merely be giving Clayflo a taste of their own medicine.

But Huo Sining had to admit, she had already declared publicly she was quitting gambling circles, and returning to Las Vegas meant reneging on her word, slapping herself in the face. She wasn’t willing to do something so shameless unless absolutely necessary.

Huo Sining’s eyes sparkled mischievously like a cunning fox as she smiled at Zhou Shitao and the others,

”Of course I know that method isn’t good, which is why I didn’t plan on going to Las Vegas. But, aside from gambling, do you think your disciple can’t come up with other ways to get money? Then you’re underestimating your disciple.”

Zhou Shitao and the others exchanged glances, staring blankly at Huo Sining.

Huo Sining’s lips curved, ”In fact, while you were coming to Philadelphia these past two days, Gu Xu and I have already figured it out, so we made a trip to Oregon.”
