Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1924: Chapter 1827: Throwing Cold Water

Huo Sining said she was just going for fun, but that’s not what she thought inside.

Originally, she was worried about not having a place to raise funds, but now Su Qingqing’s suggestion is practically a pillow sent to a sleepy person, like timely rain.

As for Li Jun’s concerns about the so-called gimmicks, Huo Sining wasn’t worried at all. With her Heavenly Eye, why worry about drilling three feet under?

Even if she spends a few days in that park, wandering around each day, she can fully survey the 150 hectares of parkland. As long as the Volcano Park is real, as long as there are indeed diamonds beneath the diamond quarry, then she’ll find a way to dig them all out!

Once they had the thought, after checking the route, without notifying Windsor Caesar and Adrian, they immediately packed their bags and left.

Flying from New York to Oregon State crosses America from east to west, but it’s still convenient; over three hours later, Huo Sining and the group had already arrived at Polante and quickly located the Volcano Park position shown on the map.

The Li Family’s business chains in America are very extensive, and Li Jun had acquaintances in Polante, so soon the group rented a car and quickly reached the vicinity of the Volcano Park. With help from his acquaintance, they also rented a privately-owned villa closest to the park and prepared excavation tools needed for their venture.

Li Jun’s friend seemed somewhat surprised at the group’s sudden rebellious act but thought they were simply here for a tourism treasure hunt.

Because previously, not few people flocked to Oregon for treasure hunting due to Volcano Park’s name, his friend just smiled and moved on, without taking it seriously at all.

Unbeknownst to him, such indifference attracted a bunch of robbers to Oregon State, and the result of leading wolves into the house was that the entire Volcano Park got emptied by someone.

This Volcano Park area falls in the suburbs, actually it’s quite far from the urban area here, the rural atmosphere is indeed beautiful, the lake is clear, woods are dense, and the air is extraordinarily fresh, full of American rural charm. Yet, Huo Sining and the group had no mood to appreciate the scenery; their purpose was to dig diamonds.

Diamonds, originating from the ancient Greek word Adamant, meaning an unbreakable substance, are the hardest and most brittle natural mineral, also a densely crystalline form of carbon, regarded as the king of gems worldwide.

A carat is the unit of diamond mass, with one carat equaling 200 milligrams, owing to early diamond merchants using the fruit of the rice bean tree as a weight, which roughly weighed 200 milligrams.

Since diamonds have almost the same density, the heavier the diamond, the larger its volume. Bigger diamonds being rarer also makes their value per carat higher.

Diamonds form when carbon crystallizes under high temperature, extreme pressure, and reductive environments, otherwise known as magma eruption or volcanic explosions. After magma cools, diamonds condense within such rocks, forming beautiful and hard diamond crystals.

However, not all volcanic veins produce diamonds. Globally discovered diamond lodes currently only appear in two rock layers: one is peridotite, the other is eclogite.

Though diamonds formed in eclogite have no economic value, only those formed in peridotite can be developed and processed into diamond jewelry; most diamonds currently seen on the market are mined from peridotite.

Diamond-bearing peridotite mainly falls into two types: kimberlite and lamproite.

Both rock types are produced by volcanic eruptions, originating from Earth’s deep rocks brought to the surface or shallow earth through volcanic activity. Such magma often emerges in pipe forms, thus termed primary ore.

Exposed diamond-bearing kimberlite or lamproite at the surface, weathered and broken by external forces like wind and rain, then swept away by streams, depositing the original rock fragments and any diamonds into riverbeds or coastline areas, forming alluvial sand ore deposits.

Volcano Park’s surface rock layer resulted from millennia-old volcanic activities generating peridotite; beneath Oregon state’s surface was a 95 million-year-old volcanic conduit. During intense surface activity causing volcanoes and earthquakes, diamond substances within deep earth spewed out with volcanic magma, thrown atop the lava layers. Thus, it’s not surprising that beneath Volcano Park’s surface lies a wealth of diamonds.

However, before entering the park, Huo Sining did not expect such scenes; the group rested overnight at the villa, gathering strength for a major endeavor. The next morning, after paying and buying tickets, upon entering the park, they were somewhat dumbfounded by the sight.

Right at dawn, the park welcomed a stream of tourists carrying tools, and upon entering the park, Huo Sining and others were stunned by the pitted landscape.

Rather than a park, this was more like a barren mountain; it’s probably the ugliest park Huo Sining has seen in her life. Everywhere are yellow earth and stones, no trees or water, not even entertainment facilities.

Indeed, this is a park, yet a park meant for people to dig pits; here, every day countless people swarm in, continuously excavating and creating more pits.

Luckily, Oregon’s weather was pleasant lately, without rain, else a muddy scene would be in front of them, and even thinking of that made Huo Sining shiver a bit.

The park spans 150 hectares; initially coming, Huo Sining thought the park was too big, but upon entering, everywhere are people crouching busy with work, with more entering in succession. The mere sight made Huo Sining feel utterly bad, not to mention Su Qingqing, who confidently wielded tools ready for major work, now facing the yellow earth-filled park, they were all equally dumbfounded.

”So, what do you think? I told you not to have hopes, but you wouldn’t listen; I’ve been here once, and back then, it wasn’t this bad. Now more people come every day to dig; where are there so many diamonds for everyone to mine? I suspect it’s very likely the park’s owner buried some worthless diamond fragments in the soil, making tourists endlessly entertained, so visitors never stop.”

Li Jun seemed to have expected their reaction and couldn’t help but sneer and pour cold water from the side.
