Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1947: Chapter 1850: A Moment’s Misstep

Upon hearing Xie Daoyuan’s words, Zhou Shitao glanced at him and asked casually, ”They have us figured out, but would you walk away?”

Xie Daoyuan was at a loss for words, feeling frustrated and unable to respond.

Indeed, even if the stooge hired by Clayflo suddenly raised the price by tens of millions or even billions, as long as it was within an acceptable range, people like Huo Sining would not really be willing to walk away from these treasures.

With the stooge’s provocation, the Middle Eastern Prince seemed angered, and soon both sides engaged in a tug-of-war. A few minutes later, the price for the first Beast Head rose to sixty-five million, and as the Middle Eastern Prince intended to raise it further, he was abruptly stopped by another prince nearby. The prince froze, and upon hearing the auctioneer’s price from the auction stage, he suddenly understood.

In merely ten minutes, he had more than doubled his bottom-line price, completely forgetting his initial purpose for bidding on the Beast Head.

Realizing this, the prince’s face darkened, his heart filled with fear, and he subconsciously looked up at the bidder who had angered him.

With just one glance, he understood the problem.

If this person were truly a bidder, they couldn’t possibly maintain such a good demeanor and still provoke him with a smile. This was undoubtedly a stooge!

The Middle Eastern Prince’s face showed anger; he couldn’t believe the Rothschild Family was so despicable, hiring a stooge to hike the price, and to make matters worse, they mocked him, completely disregarding him and his nation!

A dangerous glint flashed in the Prince’s eyes, but he couldn’t publicly expose the stooge in front of so many people and had to swallow this loss.

He angrily glared at the stooge, gritted his teeth, decided not to pursue the Beast Head, sneered coldly, and unwillingly sat back down.

Sixty-five million; who else would dare take it at that price? Without his bid, it would fall into the stooge’s hands. He wondered how Clayflo would deal with it once it ended up on their hands!

The Prince secretly scoffed but was caught off guard when someone stood up just as he thought the auctioneer would seal the deal.

”Seventy million!”

Another stooge? The Prince’s heart skipped a beat as he instinctively looked towards the source of the voice, surprised to find an Asian holding up a placard.

Upon hearing Fujiwara Seiho’s bid, Huo Sining’s eyes also revealed a hint of coldness.

Indeed, she knew Fujiwara Seiho couldn’t pass up an opportunity to irritate the Huaxia people. Seventy million US dollars to take the Beast Head; he probably wouldn’t hesitate at all.

The stooge who had provoked the Middle Eastern Prince stood frozen. He had orders from above to lurk among the bidders specifically for these two final antiques. As per regulations, if he managed to raise the prices of these two items, he would receive a cut of the proceeds—the higher the price, the larger the cut.

This was why he kept provoking the Middle Eastern Prince, as he believed the Prince had plenty of money and wouldn’t be stingy with the bid.

But he hadn’t anticipated that, despite the Prince’s interest in the Beast Head, he also had a limit. He pushed too far, and the Prince, realizing mid-course, abruptly stepped back, refusing to play along.

Now the problem: the antique landed in his hands. The stooge was shocked inside, presenting a smile outwardly, but inwardly a mess of panic.

If it ended up stuck with him, he’d not only miss out on commission but might even lose his job.

Considering the consequence, a look of urgency appeared on the stooge’s face, hoping for someone to take over so he could slip away safely.

Yet, after waiting for a while with no one raising a placard, seeing the auctioneer about to seal the deal, the stooge felt despair, fearing it was all over.

However, unexpectedly, at the last critical moment, someone bid again, and the price leapt to seventy million.

The stooge was startled, quickly glancing towards Fujiwara Seiho’s direction.

In the VIP box, Huo Sining pondered whether to step in. With the priority purchasing rights, she wasn’t worried about someone else purchasing them, but refraining from joining might leave the stooge and Fujiwara Seiho continually raising the price, potentially reaching a ridiculous level.

Thinking this, Huo Sining directly instructed Li Jun: ”Go ahead, call out ninety million or a billion, test Fujiwara Seiho’s attitude and limit. If he bids again, don’t bother; wait until after the auction and directly demand the items from Clayflo.”

Li Jun nodded, walked to the small balcony casually, holding a placard, saying to the auctioneer: ”Ninety million!”

The stooge hesitated whether to risk another price increase against the Asian, hoping to earn some more commission yet fearing if, like the Middle Eastern Prince, the Asian withdrew, finding a new buyer could be difficult.

Only, before he could decide, unexpectedly, someone bid again, immediately adding twenty million.

The stooge was thoroughly dumbfounded, looking towards the VIP box where the number 88 was. He confirmed that this person was definitely not one of their internal people, leaving him flustered and confused.

It’s just a Huaxia antique, fetching ninety million; is this person insane?

Not just the stooge, the whole room of bidders was also stunned, as no one expected such a fierce person in the auction, for just a Beast Head. A year ago in Xiangjiang, the Ma Shou’s auction price was merely sixty million RMB, equivalent to less than ten million US dollars, and now a Snake Head priced near ten times more, extraordinarily outrageous!

Even Fujiwara Seiho’s face darkened upon hearing the ninety million bid.

His gaze fell on Li Jun, recalling the scene when the number 88 intervened during the bid for the wooden box containing the Classic of Mountains and Seas, just once raising the placard, and then abstaining from further bidding.
